I remember when you guys started CZcams you sold your car and and bought a small camper to live in now look at you guys almost 300,000 subscribers I'm so proud 👍love you guys y'all have came a long way😊👏👏👏🏡
Allyssa, I remember editing film four decades ago and threading a Movieola machine to review the scenes. When it took you three days to put this together, I knew it would be good and you did not disappoint. I am impressed with your editing skill and artistry. I haven't been able to get my wife interested in your videos but this just migt do it. Levi's comment about the snow making it magical was spot on. Exellent work.
Whoa what an achievement. I'm a paramedic in the UK and your video came out as I was just going to work. I have had to wait 14 hrs to watch this!!! In future please time your releases around my shift patterns better, the wait was killing me. Well done guys, now the work begins
Epic Episode! Drone footage was killer! The snow added so much! Those folks from The Shelter Institute are true professionals. I love seeing a "team" work together. You can tell they have quite a bit of experience and just operate so efficiently together.
I wish I could like this video 100 times. Thanks shelter people for all your hard work. Thanks Levi for filming. Thank you to the students for spending your time and money help making this a reality. Thank you Jessie and Alyssa for sharing your journey.
We started at "GIRL Sells BRAND NEW CAR to START a HOMESTEAD", watched you guys climbing on corrugated rooftops, we were saddened when you suddenly had only one cat, scratched our heads when you bought a tractor and then when you upgraded your mill. You (and we) have come so far. Thank you for allowing us to share your adventure ~ living vicariously through your efforts and hard work. So happy we never got to see the cursing ~ but only the hugs ! You have touched so many lives, it's incredible. And you've surrounded yourselves with some of the most AWESOME folks, good job all. I've never seen a home assembled with love.... and the blessing of erecting the timbers in the snow ~ magical!
A lot of folks gave you guys a really hard time about this video not coming faster. They might not realize how much work goes into editing a 15 minute video, but the time it takes to edit a 45 minute long film like this is incredible. Very well done. Beautifully filmed, lovingly presented, and the 'money shots' at the end are fantastic! The sunset and the drone pull-away were dramatic and beautiful!
I seriously don't know what I'll do when you guys move in, it has become part of my daily routine to watch your progress since accidentally stumbling across your channel months ago. You are the "Truman show" of DIY home building. This week has felt super gratifying for me too somehow watching it all come together. Jesse said it...the Power of Community! To all who helped, you were an inspiration and a blessing to watch. Great filming, Levi! History made.
This awesome edit was worth the wait which seemed like forever- but I cheated and spyed the finished frame on instagram. I had chills while watching this, and some tears of joy for you both. You have worked so hard and you epitomize the American work ethic. Your heart and soul is in sight thru this video and every video on your channel. Beautiful home for two beautiful people. Bravo! Now the work continues- can’t wait to see the finished product!!!
Words can not express how my family feels watching your journey this far from a few years ago and how it is changing lives forever! Love the footage and the way it came together in a beautiful way! I used to build Scandinavian scribe fit log homes in my home state of Maine with my dad and family and know first hand the power that community has on things like this, and how awesome it feels to be able to build such incredible structures using live logs!! Keep up the awesome videos you cool kats!! Love it!!!
Alyssa, I cannot get over how happy you look during this episode. You are just b e a m i n g and smiling from ear-to-ear. You must feel a huge accomplishment when you look at your frame. How neat and special for you guys to be able to do this
This was a fantastic video. I have watched like 20 some videos the two of you have put out. But this one was the best. I really like how the Shelter Institute crew made it all come together. I wish the Shelter Institute had a campus here in Colorado as I would like to learn how to create a timber home.
And now, to the next chapter...enclosing and finishing it off. Blessings on your new home, blessings on each one that took part in any and every way. By next year, hopefully, you will be living inside that, thinking of each scarf joint, each screw, each dowel...and being so very thankful...and I thank you for letting me watch, letting all of us watch. It is grand to be part of a cheering section for you.
Wow, this was like coming to the end of a great book and you want it to continue because you feel as if you became a part of the story itself... That is one awesome building, and I can hardly wait to see more of what you are going to be doing to finish it, I hope you are planning to continue videoing it.. Levi, you did a wonderful job of capturing it all on camera(almost said film, haha), but these videos will show this building for years to come.. Great work everyone involved....
I feel like Levi was the moral conscious of this series. It's really hard to draw people into conversation with the camera going. He did a fantastic job getting people to engage with the CZcams audience and gave the participants their authentic voice, which is incredibly difficult to do. Bravo Levi!!
Wow! Raising my morning coffee mug to everyone involved! Especially to Alyssa and Jesse for being “really good talkers” and convincing the Shelter people to teach and build at their location. Amazing project! Beautiful video and final edit!!
I know absolutely nothing about house building but this beautiful framing job had me in awe. Levi, love your eye. Can't wait for more. Thumbs up to all involved in this loving adventure.
Awesome job! When you added in the music with the drone shots as it was going up, (musician here) as the French horns started in to the strings section ostinato... OMG! Beyond goosebumps. I'm gonna' go watch it again!
I want to say congratulations on the raising of your new home. I am so happy for you. I wish I could do as such for my family but we are pretty much all disabled. Zero chance of that happening. I have watched you for a while now and I really enjoy seeing your efforts to make a home for your family. The videos are top notch and shot with an artistic flow. Thanks for letting me watch your progress and I pray your home will stay safe and secure for the rest of your lives.
I am so proud of all of you (all ya'll). It's wonderful to watch the community and cooperation of people make it happen. Props to Levi for a awesome job, very well done.
The house looks awesome!!! Everyone involved did a great job. I don't normally post on many videos, but I have been watching your channel for over a year now and to see the growth that you two have gone through with your property has been amazing. Great job!!!
A year + or so ago we stumbled onto this channel because we were researching portable canvas buildings for weather protection. Recall: ShelterLogic Garage in a Box Review"?? We subscribed back then and we are glad we did.... Reflecting on what we have seen looking in on this couple from time to time and knowing what was on the property when they first started.... YES - this story is amazing!!!! Great Job! Watching the hard work from a couple who truly work like a team is inspiring and refreshing. Thanks for sharing so much of your life experiences with us - the successful times and the challenging times! Keep up the great work!!!
I haven't ever commented on any of your video's, because an old veteran from Alaska probably can't add much, but I have to say good job guys, keep up the good work.
With all the right/wrongs and good/bads and should have done this/that, i don't care a gnats toe, this is wonderful, a man and wife did this, and everyone should acknowledge it.
What a GREAT video from those of us that have been watching for the beginning. It has been an adventure AND still more to come THANKS to ALL involved Great job.!!!!!!!
This one was more than worth the wait! I am so stoked for you both, and everyone else that was involved. Levi was great, and if you have another epic chunk of major building work, I'm sure we'd all be glad to see him come back and film some more. Alyssa, your editing is magical!
I've been watching for a year, and this video has been beyond satisfying. I cheated and checked the structure out on Facebook, but seeing it in action is a completely different sensation. Thanks for sharing this guys. All you need to do now is dry it in.
Jesse and Alyssa, it has been such a blessing to watch your journey (since the beginning) and to be able to witness this gorgeous frame become real in every sense of the word. It is obvious from watching each of you in the background (and, sometimes, Jesse upstairs) as you engaged with each of your participants, friends, and family. It was lovely to see how everyone felt about your obvious appreciation. One of the qualities that I appreciate most about you is your extremely kind and continual responsiveness in gratitude for everyone who has been of support. While this often takes the symbol of a food or cider offering, your videos seep with stories of how you have never been afraid to let people into your lives through asking for help. Plus, I love the way that you have eliminated the usual formalities that occur in business and behave in a genuine attitude of love to all who have come in contact with through trading information, resources like berries, pies, jam, homemade ice cream, or volunteering. While Thank You notes are always a great means of sharing, no one can doubt that most would go for the cider or ice cream. Anyone watching can see, hear, and feel the strength of your delight and gratitude for everyone who has entered and becomes part of your lives. I loved your neighbor saying that "a couple years ago you came as strangers, yet now, you are 'those crazy people who FIRST made the luxury of building a Hot Tub - and then - took two years to put up a frame!'" Adorable! It is such a delightful, loveable signature to have and demonstrates the impact that you have made in your adopted community! It continues to be a pleasure to share with you from this side of the monitor.
A long wait but well worth it, it was inspired to get Levi on-board to help with the filming and he did a great job of helping to tell the story and I am looking forward to seeing the next stage.
Guys I just have to say that I watch a lot of videos on CZcams and all over the internet, and this video is by far the best I have ever seen. It's not often I can sit through a 46 minute video of something on CZcams, but I thoroughly enjoyed every second of this one. Congrats to all those involved, and mother nature just added that final touch to make the day even more magical. I Have been following your journey since the video about the trenching of the water line, and I am looking forward to watching you continue your journey. Shane from Australia
i am so happy for you both to finally get your frame up it was an amazing experience to watch the raising and what a wonderful day starting with snow and ending with sunshine ......all the amazing people who came together to make your dream come true and pass on the skills so they can move forward with their own projects........ congrats from Perth Western Australia
The branch/tree ceremony is known as 'Topping out' in the UK. It dates back centuries and was thought to appease the tree spirits after having cut down many trees to construct the house. Interesting; it still goes on in many countries.
I would like to thank all of the people from The Shelter Institute and all of the people who came to the classes to help build your frame for letting you film them. Levi, all I can say is you have a gift and it shows. This shows that more people are willing to build a better life for all of us. Congrats on a great frame to build your home in....
Thank you for sharing such a huge step in your journey. Levi has out done himself and Alyssa has produced an incredible video. It has been frustrating having to wait but I understand the complexity of drawing multiple video sources together, especially when you didn't shoot a lot of the film yourself
DUDE!!! This was IN. CREDIBLE. Such an amazing finish and gorgeous house! You guys are going to have so much pride for the rest of your lives in the fact that you BUILT THIS! Thanks Levi for the awesome footage, and Jesse & Alyssa for the incredible edit! Super fun to get to be a small part by just getting to watch it all happen! Blessings to you and all who grace this home in the future.
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL STRUCTURE!!! My favorite part of the entire video was the way you choreographed and coordinated the background music with the actual operations of the timber raising. Those two things created the ultimate thrill of the triumph not only at the completion but all the way through it.
Wow. That is one truly nice looking timber framed structure. The video production is excellent, thanks to Levi, Alyssa, Jesse, The Shelter folks and everyone else involved. Very nice aerial shots and closing shot of snow covered trees.
Wow! Alyssa! You have outdone yourself. No wonder it took all week to edit this piece together. Its awesome. And I cant help but praise Levi. His cinematography is beautiful. You two made a wonderful team. Jesse, you and Alyssa have created magic. Its been a joy watching you create your new life in Idaho. I cant wait to watch the rest of your story. Happy Holidays to you.
Incredible!!! What a great "scratch" team. Everyone took pride in their work and it shows. Can't wait to see it finished. That will be another great journey.
Well, it's about time! Been anxiously awaiting this video! Awesome, awesome, awesome! Very exciting to see the frame up! You two must be so happy! Incredible job by all! Unbelievable craftsmanship! Almost like an art form! I bet the Shelter Institute folks had no idea what they got themselves into! Good thing you talked them into the project before they figured it out! ;)
This was fantastic to see and can’t wait to watch next steps. I just have to say that everyone involved seemed to be such wonderful people. I think when you do it yourself and surround yourself by others similarly inclined, the strength of character is amazing. This was better than any TV show. Impressed.
In a word ... WoW! ... Kudos to all the crew. It is quite something to hit a milestone such as this. Congratulations guys!!!, and keep on going ... Great work on the camera work Levi (already subscribed to your channel.), editing is great, and of course all the people behind the scenes. I was frustrated waiting for this video to come out, however I held my complaining. Now that I have seen the final product, I realize that nothing good comes easy or fast. Congratulations again !!
Congratulations, been with you since you dragged the trailer up to the property. You have proved to me that anything is possible even the impossible. Greetings from Iceland.
What an incredible day that was to finish off an amazing week! Thanks for having me Jesse and Alyssa. And thanks to the whole PLFL audience for putting up with me 😂 If you have any video questions let me know below and I’ll do my best to answer promptly.
Congratulations on having part of your dream come true. You are so blessed to have found a great group of people to make wondrous things happen. Thank you for making your life a portrait of off the grid living free in in the woods... Looking forward to all the videos yet to come.
Loved the process and seeing that raising, in the snow, was awesome. Kudos to Levi on the cinematography work. Seeing the camaraderie between the students, the Shelter crew, Jessie and Alissa was great. Was cool seeing everyone fold Levi into some of their tasks while he is recording them. Thanks guys. Good luck and I look forward to seeing you complete your home. Thanks
Incredible! After watching from the beginning, it is amazing to see the frame go up and to see how far you guys have come! Thank you for allowing us to all share in this experience with you!
Awesome job Levi. The editing was amazing thru the entire workshop to build your amazing home. Contrasts you've come a long way. I've watched you from day one. Love your story. I would have built the hot tub first as well. Merry Christmas to you all. Looking forward to more videos as you close In you beautiful wonderland in the snow. Take care, God bless
What a huge life experience to have been able to share with everyone !! & Levi you did such a good job with the filming it felt like I was standing beside you most of the time as you were shooting ( the drone footage was really cool too ) / great job everyone !!!
So overwhelmingly happy for the both of you .you are two amazing human beings. Truly grateful for finding your Channel, not just for your timber frame but to be able to witness what two people can do when they put their mind to something and stick to it.
Totally awesome and inspiring! It reminds me of when my wife and built out log home 24 years ago...The logs arrived late on a snowy October day. We started unloading the 12" logs in the dark and placing them on the foundation by hand, wondering what we got ourselves into. 11 months later we finally moved in!
Congradulations Jesse and Alyssa. I am very happy for you! Thank you Levi for making it possible to share the experience with us. Thank you Engineer, Shelter Institute Lead, and all the classmates that helped them put their timber house together.
Finally!!! You can see the shape of your future home. Just don't let anything get in your way. Things will get even harder, finishing touches will take 10 times longer than you could ever imagine, but stay focused, and like the comments below say...now you are 300k strong and growing...best of luck!!!
This leaves you without words. It was amazing I am so glad I stumbled across your channel. You are blessed and the people that you know have blessed you.
All I can say is WOW!!! Wow to every body and everything. Milling, workshop, videography, editing, music, and let's not forget the teachers/electors. WOW!!!
Here because of o Wranglerstar. So glad I came here. What an awesome project. I am in the UK and we do not get anything like this. I so wish we did. Keep up the good work.
Absolutely one of your best videos to date! How awesome to have such a great community of folks willing to lend a hand. There’s light at the end of the tunnel...
my internet connection was turned off because of no money. I had to walk all,the way to McDonald's so I could watch this, I have been waiting for ever to,see this. I know I am going to cry at the, end. live the dream you guys
This was a long time coming and it didn't disappoint. Wonderful. Levy did such a great job filming and picked the right musical score. I have to give you guys a whole lot of credit. Take some time off and rest. You deserve it. PS - The house looks amazing.
My husband and I feel like it was the best Christmas Gift because we felt a part of the house like so many others. Thank everyone for there help and videos of this beautiful house raising. We just loved it and we can't wait to see what's next.....
Wow! What a great video. I had tears in my eyes at the end and still do!! Congratulations on the Shelter week success and the beautiful frame you have. Just WOW!
Great video, I have to say the last minute for me was so powerful and almost emotional. It’s been a blast following the journey and look forward to sharing the experience of pushing to the finish.
I do not post comments often, however, this is such a great achievement for you both, I just wanted to say WOW ! In my granddaughter's words just "awesome". In all honesty I think she was talking about the snow as she is 3 years old and we live in Central Florida so snow is something that she has never see as you had on that momentous day. May your journey forward be just as Awesome!!
It's *awesome* to see that giant 3D jigsaw puzzel to come together in one day after months of preparation :) I'm really looking forward to see the end result !
Finally! Looks like a finely crafted house. Thank you for your reveal and to all those trainees who put their heart and soul into the pieces of the giant jigsaw puzzle. Beautiful snow btw. As though you had control over that.
I have to admit. It was pretty hard eating supper, getting choked up throughout this video. Congratulations to everyone involved. And thank you two, for taking us along.
WOW!!!!! Congratulations! So Happy for you ALL. Levi, I love your perpetual smile. It's infectious. The joy you shared has shone through your footage. Great job!!! God Bless and keep you friend.

Yes. Levi is an experienced professional.
Thank you so much for the kind words. That was the goal from the start, so its a sigh of relief that it has been received as well as it has.

Hey Levi,
Great camera work mate. You have gained a new subscriber from Australia! Have a great Xmas!
Awesome! great to have you Keith
Wow! Raising my morning coffee mug to everyone involved! Especially to Alyssa and Jesse for being “really good talkers” and convincing the Shelter people to teach and build at their location. Amazing project! Beautiful video and final edit!!

that drone footage of the timber frame and you and the team, standing in your new timber frame house was just surreal !! well done guys, amazing !!
Wonderful video and wonderfully done. Alyssa's editing skills have grown to rival the professionals.
Simply wonderful to see the result of all that effort. That crane guy was so cool as well
That will be another great journey.
the time has finally come for us to see the result of community and hard work. Congratulations! what beautiful craftsmanship!
OMG, some of you folks amaze me. If you can not say something nice, do not say anything. Awesome job to an awesome couple...
Impressed.
An incredible example of dedication, determination, and drive. Congrats to you both and all who pitched-in to help you!

Great camera work overall. Levi was great. The drone footage was epic.
After all the wait......it was worth the final raising video. Congratulations. Very well done! Resubscibed.
90/10 rule. 90% of the work takes 10% of the time and effort. 10%... you get it.
How exciting! I am thrilled to see it all going up! Lucky things having all those wonderful people helping! Xxxx
All I can say is WOW and congratulations! I cannot descibe the joy I have had watching the progress.

All I can say is AWESOME! I've been waiting for this video for such a long time. Keep it up and stay safe!
