Astral Chain is my all-time favorite! It's a shame that the game is a hidden gem to this day.

Currently playing Dragons Dogma, and I tell you this. This game is a hidden gem ❤️ it's a monster hunter, darksouls, skyrim, mix in one game 🔥

@@thatvideogamesshow But the game is really dark when you travel at night. It force me to make my switch brigthness really high and I don't want it, I think there's a issue that if you always have the brightness on switch lcd at full. There's a chance it will damage the screen. Any thoughts on that?
Man I’m ready to play that game too! Gonna beat FF6, but after that, Dragons Dogma has my number! I wanna be ready for Dragons Dogma 2!

how is dragon's dogma a hidden gem... it gets released on every system and has been for the past 10 years... in fact they make such a big deal about every launch of the game that absolutely nothing gets changed in that at this point it is just a cash grab for them form the 10 people that don't own it already or the gigafans that feel the need to buy every version of the exact same game
Nier Automata and Astral Chain are the 2 best Action RPGs on the system that you missed, but other than that, it's a good list. I don't think Bayonetta 3 counts as an RPG even though it has a skill tree, but THAT is not only the best Action game on the switch, but the best Action game I've ever played.
Astral chain totally got brushed under the carpet, baffles me because it's so cool
Nier automata is kinda slow on the switch, you better get on another hsrdware, at least for me, if you pass the intro you are hella fine
@@panuru9175 Yeah Switch isn't the best platform to play Nier Automata on, but for those who only own a Switch, it's definitely better than not playing it at all!
NieR Automata plays just fine on the Switch. The frame timing is stable and the game is playable with good visuals for the screen size and hardware. It’s a feat of excellent porting.
Astral Chain was a blast! Platinum Games and the Switch are a match made in Heaven. Loving Bayonetta 3 as well.

I understand why YS 9 is all the way at the start of the list. The game is too amazing to be spoiled. I cannot wait for a YS 10 game that will build up on the both games or even bring the old games into a new light. Seeing Adol take on new adventures is always a joy to see. I haven't played NEO yet but I replayed the original NDS game so many times I have to get my hands on it soon too
Going to be awesome to see where they take the series with the next entry!
This game is amazing, too bad the framerate really is a turn off.

Great list of Action RPGs here! I need to give Crosscode a try, as that looks really cool. I have the Witcher 3 on Switch, but barely scratched the surface of it lol. Need to try diving into that one again. My favorite ARPG on the Switch is Astral Chain. Such a sublime experience. Excellent video as always man!
My favorite Switch RPGs are Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster, Shin Megami Tensei V, Ys VIII, IX, & Origin, Persona 5 Royal, Sega Genesis Classics (which contains Phantasy Star II, III, & IV, Shining Force I & II, & Sword of Vermilion), the Sega Ages version of Phantasy Star, Trails from Zero, Undernauts: Labyrinth of Yomi, Planescape: Torment, Baldur's Gate I & II, Darkest Dungeon, Fire Emblem Three Houses, Langrisser I & II, Collection of Mana, Bravely Default II, Live-A-Live, Triangle Strategy, Cosmic Star Heroine, Vambrace: Cold Soul, Icewind Dale, Romancing SaGa II & III, Final Fantasy VII, VIII, IX, X, & XII, Octopath Traveler, and Dragon Quest I, II, & III.
I'm sure some will read my list and wonder why the Xenoblade Chronicles games are absent, and that is only because I haven't yet played them. They look very interesting and they are on my to-play list, I recently obtained Xenoblade Chronicles III and I plan on beginning it later today so maybe that will be added to my list as well before too long (or after the 100+ hours I heard this game is 😆).
You should try out legends of mana and trials of mana remake too, i see a few crpgs so you might like pillars of eternity, divinity original sin 2 (one of the best games i ever played) and Disco elysium. Judging from your profile picture you like SMT so you could try out tokyo mirage sessions encore. Also the disgaea games might be up your alley. A game i would very much call a gem that i recently got into is 9th dawn 3, it's a indie action rpg with a open world a elder scrolls like skill progression system, a ton of equipment and even monster taming and also multiplayer even couch coop i think definitely recommend it

I’m a huge final fantasy fan but I can’t suggest 8 to beginners as it’s junction system is complicated for new players, broken for people in the know
Astral Chain is #1 IMO.
Dragon's Dogma runs extremely well on the switch i was not expecting that smooth of a performance ^^

Cross Code! What a fantastic game, I almost skipped over it I'm ashamed to admit.
For real though, you could've cut back on those multi-plat games (that play just miles better elsewhere) and put more of the good exclusives, like astral chain for one

I played Tales of Vesperia on Xbox 360 and now switch and for some reason I just can't get into it. I get so sleepy midway through ... and this is coming from someone who enjoys Persona 5 Royal, Ni Nu Kuni, Dragon Quest 8 & XI & Final Fantasy games.
Really makes me sad how much Square Enix neglected Neo: The World Ends With You. The writing is great and the dialogue is easily my favorite part about the game. Every character feels so genuine
They shadow dropped it on Steam when everyone was already waiting for another release (Idr what game it was at the time) and then it underperformed. Is anyone supposed to be surprised? Wouldn't even be shocked if half the people that would play it don't even know it released.
There's Dragon's Dogma on Switch? I remember buying it on X360 (before expansion), then PS3 and then on PC.
It was one of these games that are so good you get them on more than one console...

Rise and Nier Automata definitely proved what the switch is capable of.
It may be older, but Dark Souls should’ve been on the list.
well, to be fair, that game mainly belongs to Soulslike genre. But yes, Dark Souls RE on Switch is darn fun
The controls are shit in that game to be honest, made me feel like I was too harsh on code vein.

while Ys was awesome there is ONE glaring issue i feel should have been mentioned in the video, the HEAVY framerate drops can sometimes be unbearable

I absolutely loved Ys VIII on Switch, despite the low resolution, frame rate was mostly solid. I'm worried about performance on Ys IX on Switch, what's your take?
I think I'll be getting a PS5 in the coming year so maybe I'll wait to play it there
The performance for ys 9 on switch is not great.... I bought it on release and tried it out over and over hoping for a patch but nope. Imo it's bad enough to make it impossible to enjoy.
I've never been a fan of monster hunter but for some reason the game is a lot like lost planet 2...It looks interesting🤔

Tales of V i enjoyed only because i play Project X zone 1&2, and as for XB3 i liked it more than XB 1 but i haven’t play XB2 so I’m not 100% sure i Can appreciate it
