Another favourite SA march. Great to play and on the march back to the citadel.

I've played this many times but Black Dyke are truly off the scale. Thanks for great musicianship guys.

Thank you for your ministry through the timbrel. I say, bring back the old much loved SA - timbrels, 'banners and bonnets they come". I don't really understand this new lack of uniform wearing and the Timbrel is 100% the good old Army. Encourage the Timbrel to be invigorated

@@RobertMitchell-tg3np I agree with all you have said I wore my uniform and bonnet with pride. I too don't understand what has happened to the Army the wearing of polo shirts for concerts. some corps having only one meeting on a Sunday in my day it was Morning Afternoon and Evening. I will stop there as it distresses me to see how it is.

@@judithannhamilton4849 THANK YOU. Again, I 100% agree re wearing with pride, although three meetings were always a bit of a rush.
My problem is, I cannot criticise as I only occasionally attend, for reasons know to my Corps and yet I'm SA and will be, until the day I die. If I were to 100% recommit I ensure you I would be in full uniform and ware with pride.
Now I find it sad to see lack of uniforms but at my last attendance, it was wall to wall uniforms at John Larsson's 'Thanks Giving Service' @ the WB Training College. Both John & Giselle Gowans & Larsson's were outstanding Generals (sadly missed & known personally).
The problem is today's SA encourages casual cloth wearing, even in the sections, arguing the casual approach encourages new growth, which I seriously cannot comprehend as all employees must wear uniforms (Black Dyke, Airline & Supermarket staff, etc and so on - in fact every walk of life). If you want employment or wish to belong you must ware the uniform that shows who and what you are! Black Dyke wouldn't relax the Lion Trainers uniform, which could not be any more old fashion, so why is the SA any different? The SA now seem to be going against Booths creation? An Army is not an army without a uniform, it's a rabble. No wonder the UK SA shrinks as Corps continuously close! If the public don't see the uniform, they see no SA!
Now I will get loads of critics for making such comments but I like you, agree. Now let's just wait and see what response this creates, as I'm bound to be criticised. SOMEONE CARES (as written by the two J's).

Expected to see the Green Jackets or the Ghurkhas arrive with a timbrel

It’s either Tunbridge Wells or Tonbridge. It’s NOT Tonbridge Wells.

Are there words to this melody? And if so, Where can we find them?

Good question. I've no idea but guess so as it's very melodic. I first played this as a kid some 50 years ago, in the days when SA music was written as a spiritual message, so I'm guessing somewhere it's to be found in the SA Songbook. Sorry I cannot help but you make me wonder because the music just lives in my heart

Star Lake Musicamp alum here, Beginning around 1:05, we'd sing - "Star Lake Campers, Star Lake Campers, Raise your voices, sing our song, We are happy, oh so happy, Star lake campers sing all day long." I have no clue if that was the original, but this is what we'd sing when I was there in the 90s.

      Words for the trio:
On the mountains, in the valleys,
      Over ev'ry land and sea
We shall hear them gladly singing,
Telling how the Truth made them free.
