That last note 😍😍
Literally every decent jazz song from the 30's and 40's had a Euphonium playing as the base sound. It's sooo sad that nobody knows what it is😑
To me the chorus which the main melody comes from has two sets of words - neither of which are mentioned here. The main version is... "One talent have I, To take to the sky, While others are blessed, With ten of the best. Why should I complain, From duty refrain. No never. No never, not I". The other chorus I learned as a small child were... "In Space Rockets soon We'll zoom to the moon Before we get there Our hearts we'll prepare To walk with the Lord On Earth where he trod And follow wherever he leads."
Wow!! Thank god I managed to get the last ticket for their gig at Skipton Town Hall next week...shame it literally was the last ticket, I wanted desperately to share it with somebody I know. Either way I willl loveit!!!
Sounds incredible ❤ I do this with my band and I think it’s a lovely piece
A wonderful performance.
They had us singing this at school when I was a lad of 6 or 7 it drove me mad then but put a grin across me chops this morning lol

Sop cornet looks bored. Mibbe he's just counting bars rest. I'm just back from a band practice. How did YooChoob know to put this up for me?
A great performance of this classic March! The tune isn’t Deep and Wide though. The song is I am Happy Today by the same composer as the March. There are 5 verses but here’s the first one. I’m happy today Oh yes I’m happy today In Jesus Christ I’m happy today For He has taken all my sins away And that’s why I’m happy today. 😊🙏🎶🎶🎶
The last movement is actually moderato, is it not????
This sounds amazing. How difficult is it? My conductor wants me to do a solo, but I’ve only been playing soprano for about a year, with about 8 years of Bb cornet behind that.
Have a go & practice hard. The difficulty here I suspect would be delivering the power required without splitting everything. Take a look at the Cory version too. Good luck. czcams.com/video/LE6O3FEa5NI/video.html
Very good
the consistency in tones and dynamics put up by this band is awesome
SUPERB.............no other word for it .
Deep respect.
Man for the whole piece I was thinking, "yeah yeah another **stellar** euphonium player with an amazing tone", then my eyebrows almost entered orbit on that gorgeous last insanely high note. Wow!
This guy's tone!!❤
Absolutely amazing. As a Salvationist bandsman, my question is, which corps was this recorded at? I can see the flags in the background but can't make them out.
Tunbridge Wells - Keep the SA flag flying my friend.
World class musician. Sen him in a lot of other pieces, hes one of a kind
Super ❤❤
Outstanding…thank you so much.
Genial gespielt! Da bekommt man Gänsehaut!
Molto bravo e grande voce👏👏👏
How wonderful…thank you all.👍👍👍
That was awesome! We played this at band rehearsal last night.
Fantastic and beautiful tone
As a euph player, im inspired by this. Holy crap
Tem que vim aqui no Brazil pra mostrar
Not a patch on the Black Dyke Mills band that had John Clough as the soloist. I speak having heard that band and John Clough.
no one cares
Une de mes marches salutistes préférées Merci pour ce plait
I truly love this! I'm marvelous piece of music played by a great virtuoso!!
NAO IMPORTA O RITIMO !!!, e bom escutar e apreciar a execução da BOA MUSICA,(BRasil)fui!!!!!
The WHAT band!?
One of my favorites.... great sounds all round aa one would expect....dem basses though, what a foundation!!👍
Elegant tone, technical finesse, great job!!
Please also listen to young Oliver Bartlett playing this. He is just 14 and has been playing tuba for one year only. (Ringwood and Burley band- 4th section)
That was incredible
this is my all time favourite march, we really pull back the bass run down at the in the last section, it still makes the hairs on my neck stand up.
so wonderful, thank you for the very nice memories I have of my grandfather😍 love greetings from germany
That was tremendous. It takes a lot of practice to be able to play like that. I know because I played euphonium as well. Very impressive! Thanks for this beautiful music.
Well named instrument! I've only ever heard of a euphonium in the words of a song. So impressive - both the instrument and the musician.
I think I just saw J oh n Ha mmo nd there on molto vibrato cornet...used to work with ya fella, hope all is good!! 💂
You are best dropping John a line at Black Dyke
Wonderful playing
БРАВО!!!!!!
Stupendous soloist!
Beautiful tone. Would have loved to hear this live! Thank you Robert and regards from Sydney - David

Well, I could play the first chorus.
