Wow you guys... 10,000 views at the time of this comment!!! Thank you all so much 😍😍
Same, Brad Pitt had the best accent for an American.
He did so good 😂😂
Tom cruise should get a zero because he’s supposed to be from belfast in the movie and his leprechaun accent shows he did 0 research
Snatch brought me here lol
Glad you found us 🤗
Same, from James Vs Cinema reaction to it.. 😂
@@JackNapier420 🤗🤗
Snatch has a way of doing that.... bringing people together.
@@heywoodjablowme8120 "Shut up and sit down you big bald fk."
Best fkin Richie movie imho, aside from The Gentleman.
Snatch is such a great movie.
And as far as false accents in movies go, Andrew Lincoln I think does an amazing job with the Georgia accent, it's not easy to pull off.
We definitely enjoyed it, it's a hidden gem in a sense because I don't think many people know about it. Until we decided to do this video we didn't know about it either 😁
Eh... I live in the South, and while Andrew's accent isn't bad, I wouldn't go so far as to call it "amazing" either.
British people definitely have trouble with certain words here and there. Also numbers, especially saying years. I've often heard them say something like "1979" as "Nine-een Seveny Nine" (the way many Brits tend to) amidst an American accent and was instantly pulled out. It sounds especially odd when said that way with an otherwise American accent (unless they are doing a southern accent and really lean into it).
If I had to rate it though, I'd say it was an 8.5 / 10.
The language of the Traveller is not lazy, it's meant to be hard to understand. We tend not to want people knowing what we are saying.
Not offended in anyway, I enjoyed the video. I live in The States, and outside of Boston, I have to translate myself. You are a beautiful couple, and I wish you well.
Thanks for your comment. I know the feeling of needing to translate myself 😂
Chavies know nicksis mush
@Pablo oh yeah
@Pablo them boys are making a killing over there
Glad to see my lads are over in the states. Ar munya dil?
This is one of your best videos, great work you guys.. Very entertaining!! 😘
Dude!! the way that woman looks at you...your a lucky guy
I couldn't agree more!! 😍Thanks for the comment 😊
Great review!! Had me laughing lol
Highly recommended Snatch. Great film with endless replay value.
Travellers, Irish Travellers
I know right . I got until 12 minutes of this video then that happened
Gypsies 🤣
Tbh when people try to do irish accents they probably try to do all the accents at once
Hahaha maybe... 😉
Or they try to do the lovely dovely irish accent
Snatch is one of my favorite comedies, and just one of my favorite movies in general. So many great characters, including Brad's.
Funny thing though, I was talking to someone from England and they never heard the word pikey before. I was so disappointed, lol
Aww no way!? There a unique English person then because in my opinion most English people would know what a pikey is 😂😂 Its definitely a funny movie for sure 👍
I love how Yank Kadie keeps insisting and informing Cam, an Irish lad, how Irish people talk! I love it!
😂😂
😂😂🤭
I'm traveling to Ireland in September! I'm so excited to just sit and listen to everyone!
You should have played the scene from "Snatch" in which Mikey and Turkish as negotiating for their next fight.
Shoutout to Cam from Ballyfermot 😂
Thank you for the shout out my fellow Irishman 😉😂 have you any comments to add to these Irish accents?? 😉
Similar thing happens with the American southern accent. There's a lot of different southern accents. Then you have people who exaggerate them for sort of a street credit. For lack of a better phrase. I worked hard to try to cover mine up. Thought I had. Till I talked to someone from Washington. And they started chuckling.
Very true 😂
Yeah I’m from Tennessee and if I’m around people from the west coast or Midwest my accent becomes more neutral but when I’m around other southern people my accent becomes “nawhl I’m frum duh sauth and I aint intuh no proper way uh speakun if you cain’t understan mye accent den tuff titty”
Yup that was fun 😀😂
So glad you enjoyed it Sohan 😊
I always wonder why they dont just cast actual irish actors.
Very good point! I mean there is plenty of them 😂
Maybe the trick with accents is the same with sketching a person's face. The key is exaggerating without going so far that it becomes caricature. It's maybe it's like guitar tone. If you think it's perfect, dial everything back 10-20%
Hmm what an interesting comparison... Sounds like you've just about nailed it 😂
😂 I love that scene in Snatch
i love your channel! :D
Thank you so much 🤗🤗
That Gerard Butler 6 is very generous. Often considered one of the worst attempts at an Irish accent along with Tom Cruise in Far and Away....he even publically apologised fot it. Brad Pitt does one of the best in Snatch and worst in The Devils Own. Also, Cameron Diaz and Leonardo Di Caprio in Gangs Of New York give Tom and Nicole a run for their money.
I mean I don't think we disagree at all 😉 thanks for the comment 😊
👏👏👏👏
Watching a second time lol
This video is great. The idea to rate them out of 10 is so good... Tom Cruise is shocking 😅😅
Thank you!! 😇
Can I ask I assume the woman playing Brad Pitt’s dad is actually Irish?
She certainly sounds it.
Love
Tom
Ahh good question... I assume you mean the woman playing his mam? Haha don't worry we know you meant 😉 but yeah she definitely sounds legit Irish.
Thats Jeremy Iron’s wife, Sinéad Cusack’s sister, I met her with him in London. Her name is Sorcha Cusack. They are indeed irish.
I agree with all scoring. Great watching guys.😀😀😀 What about bad American accents, have you seen Michael Cane in Cider house rules and second hand lions, cringed but ya gotta forgive him lol.
Thank you Daniel 😊😊 if you stick around you may just see some "American reacts" videos soon 😉😉
It s like a doctor reacting to people trying to reproduce doctor handwriting
You were very generous...tom cruise is a 1/10 . Butler 3/10...julia roberts gets a 6/10 but i think she gets away with it because everyone else is irish in it. Brad pitt is an 8/10. Hes good but hes not perfect. Matthew in leap year is a 6/10
Haha you may be right... Maybe I should have been more critical 😉 I like your numbers though they seem realistic ☺️
@@camandkadie ye at least theyre done more innocently.
Wild mountain thyme was made by a director who knew irish people would hate. So they all get 1/10
@@camandkadie Nicole Kidman is a 3/10........ the vowel sounds are off
How could you not watch the whole Snach clip?! All the way to ya like dags.
😂😂
You think thats hard to understand, we have an equivalent kind of people in Louisiana. But its a French/ English/Cajan
please, react to Strongest Irish Accent You'll Ever Hear video
Thats a great idea!!! Thank you! Stay tuned as it might come sooner than you know 😉
Guess what we just recorded!?! 😉 I'm not gonna lie it was tough 😅😅 stay tuned we will post soon 😉
Hey... Have you seen our latest vid?? Thanks for the recommendation! It was tough for sure 😅😅😅 let us know what you think of the video!!
Far and Away is a great movie, imo. Too bad about the accents. Would love to see it redone with Irish actors. Brad Pitt is amazing and so is Snatch. Wondering if there's any accents you have trouble understanding? Scouse? Any of the American ones?
Surprisingly I'm yet to come across an accent I haven't properly understood or at least gotten the jist of. If you know of any accents you think aew too hard to understand then let us know and we will check it out 🤗
@@camandkadie what about carribean accents?
You’re American? Where from? You’re accent is unfamiliar to me but I’ve only lived on the east coast and traveled to the upper midwest. Is it Tennessee?
The actress who played Mickeys mother in Snatch is actaully an Irish actress
Good to know 😏😊 thanks for your comment 😁
Definitely feel like my Enniscorthy (Wexford) Accent would be hard to do. If you've seen Brooklyn the lead character is from here but doesn't have the local accent in the movie.
Wow chap the way she looks at you ...holy moly you are one lucky bloke .
I sure am 😍
So the "pikey" accent is an Irish version of Texas's southeastern accent to the rest of us Texans. That, dangol talk gon gitchoo n truble dontknow hooyoo speakwit ritechair.
Gerard Butler sans Scottish accent should be considered a crime.
💯😂😂
I always thought what would really be hard is for someone with a strong accent, like Nicole Kidman, to get rid of it. Like sound American. Of course there are strong American accents as well, but like a lot of her rolls she plays
I wasn't aware Irish people could pronounce the "th" sound until I watched this video. Thought it was similar to the way I can't roll r's like Spanish people do.
Lol I was around a lot of Pikies and he defo nails it. I knew ppl just like Mickey O’ Neil.
He really does. I'm curious how he got it down so well, like did he spend time in Ireland to prepare for the role? 🤔🤔
@@camandkadie He said he took inspiration from a guy in the streets in London that he couldn’t understand and from a guest star on Father Ted.
No way that's so interesting 🤔 thanks for telling us 🤗
@@camandkadieI read that he actually spent some time with some Travellers to not just learn the accent, but the mannerisms.
Ireland is the best place I've ever been in my god damm life, best people in the world
Thank you Iron Mike!!!!! 😉😂 Where in Ireland did you visit?
Tom cruise has Irish roots. I think he even got citizenship in Ireland.
Snatch ❤️
I worked on Claire Island for a few months, and the pronunciation of Ireland is vastly different from how it's pronounced around central Dublin.
Your man looks like Elvis. Good video
Hahaha the side burns were getting a bit out of hand alright... 😉😂😂 Thank you so much 🤗
Go have a listen to Tommy Lee Jones in the movie "Blown Away"..... After you stop laughing, you'll thank me.
We will let you know when we watch it 🤗
Is it me hope it isn't I'm Irish 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲 but my Irish guy puts me in mind of a young Elvis Presley wot u think ? Tanks
It's really a generational thing. Good luck with the old folks, try to follow a 70-year-old County Donegal man's rambles. Accents in all sorts of English-speaking countries are getting softened by the omniprescence of American media influence. At some point, some accents will be in danger of disappearing entirely, like the English Cockney accent, which truly only exists anymore in film.
Well oil beef hooked!
Nice review! Can you please react to the movie Edmond (2005)? Its classic and underrated :)
Thank you so much! 😊😊 We will definitely look into it, thank you for the suggestion 🤗
@@camandkadie ok thank you very much! :)
what about Michael J Fox and Lea Thompson in Back to the Future 3?
Do Peakey Blinders
For a good US comparison to the traveller accent, I'm from Minnesota and I have a very singsong accent, as do many in the rural area I live. I man come to work at my factory who was from the deep south, Mississippi I think. Half of my family is southern, so I could understand what he was saying, but hardly anyone else could. I played translator for a bit until he started asking for random girls' numbers 😅 If anything, I think it's the speed and words running together that that style of Mississippi accent shares with that of the traveller. Funnily enough, I can understand Brad Pitt in this movie though!
Matthew Goode did amazing and if he had said he moved between some other country and Ireland, he would be well believed only people who really know the Irish accent would be able to pick it out. 9/10
The Gerard Butler accent was surprisingly terrible. They missed the fact that he's Scottish and could have easily done a northern Irish accent because of the heavy similarities. Instead he's a mix of American and County Cork and maybe some English. 4/10
Julia Roberts did what I call the Oirish accent, which is to say, an American made accent not seen here that Americans came up with mixing a bunch of different accents. Imagine somebody using a Minnesota accent mixed with a South Carolinian accent with a touch of California and Boston. 2/10
Brad Pitt doesn't do a good accent as such but he captures the essence perfectly, so the accent isn't a big deal. 7/10.
Nicole Kidman is 5/10 but only because she is screaming and doesn't talk as much. Tom Cruise it's waaay too put on, if he chilled out on the sing-song an emphasis he might have been passable 3/10.
A good example of the opposite is when Aiden Gillen plays Janson (he also played little finger) in Scorch Trials, his American accent is so abysmal he gives up halfway through the movie.
Um is cam from Ireland cos it sounds like he is
Im watching 93's The Devils Own and Brad Pitts first crack at it is unwatchable
What accent does he do in that one?
@@camandkadie he plays an IRA spy of some sort. The accent is painful.
It is something that annoys me when I see these woeful attempts at our accent. I thought John voight did well in the General, quite authentic.
Could understand everything Brad Pitt said.
Nice! 😎 Its a funny impression but he did a great job!
@@camandkadie sounded like some of my cousins.
I find an Irish accent is a lot like a Newfie accent
If your looking for bad Irish accents can I suggest

Yea talk about North mate
Watching this girl watch her husband talk and you can tell she is getting thirsty Just listening to him. Totally smitten with the Irish accent.
😏😏 Thanks for noticing 😂
Hey. I’m listening to learn to get better at the accent. Check out Joy Blessed Life Utube to see my attempts. Especially 5 Irish questions

Uy like dags?
Isn’t Gerard butler scottish lol

No, sorry, most people haven't seen Leap Year.
Really? We thought it was a pretty popular movie 🤔
@@camandkadie I personally don't know anyone who has seen it. I heard good things about it online when it first came but, maybe this will help put into perspective, this video literally reminded me that Leap Year even existed.
Hahaha fair enough... 🤷♂️ You should give it a watch and let us know what your thoughts are on it 😉
Isn't Gerard Butler Scottish?
In all fairness your Irish accent is the most intelligible. Seemingly the most influenced by the British.
Brad sounds more Irish than you do, to be honest I don’t hear it in your voice
Gerard butler is Scottish so the Irish accent shouldn't be that hard 🤣🧁
So you would think 😉😂
Yeah, but the funny thing is that Sean Connery is also scottish and he can't do an Irish accent for shit. Everytime I (an American) see a scott play an Irish character; I feel so bad for what's about to happen or what has happened. Strangely, it's the scottish who are most known in film to have the worst non-scottish accent. I don't know why they seem to have an issue with the other accents; the only scott I know about is good ol' Connery as...well...he is Sean Connery. He has this thing that no matter who he's gonna play; he's going to talk like himself and fuck everything else. He doesn't seem to care about putting effort into actually playing a character that's not named Sean Connery. He doesn't give a shit and does whatever he wants meaning he only plays Sean Connery even if the script says to play a frenchman named Francis Dior. So, don't expect anything new or even good outta him. 🤣🤣🤣
They are very very different but I’m not Erik singer so I can’t explain why though
Hahaha very good comment Florence. I have to agree with you. Another Scottish actor I love is Ewan McGregor, he does pretty good at doing a plain English accent and somewhat good at an American accent, when you hear how thick his actual Scottish accent is, it makes it even more impressive. Never heard him try an Irish accent though, not yet at least. 😂
You are still right though Jake!! Very different indeed 😊
Irish cam has the least Irish accent I've ever heard lol
Depends on the day and who he's around. Once he's with his family or Irish people in general it comes out the strongest 😁
@@randomvidios09 yes chucky ar la lol
What's withyour teeth
Hahaha not sure what you mean by that? 🤔🤔
I dont think Scots do very good Irish accents
Isn't Gerard Butler Irish? How can he butcher the accent?
He's Scottish 😊
Sound nothing like a traveller
Just learn to speak properly. Problem solved 👍
