    Such a Gem video
 thank you for posting.. so full of information, feeling empowered.
    Now the question re -drawing labs for FSH and estradiol- you mentioned to draw labs around cycle day 3-4. So for someone who works and might not necesarily get time off on those particular days plus might need to wait for entire month waiting on those days, is it possible to do just random FSH or estradiol?? Or is it a must to do it at the beginning of that cycle as you mentioned?. Also re anatomy work up- do you do the HSG for all patients or just based on labs and US findings??
    Thanks a lot

    • @drlorashahine
      @drlorashahine  Pƙed 2 lety +2

      The follicle-stimulating hormone and estradiol are only going to help if checked early in the cycle like cycle day two, three, four. It is frustrating to wait but also a waste of time if you check them on the wrong days.

    • @drlorashahine
      @drlorashahine  Pƙed 2 lety +2

      I talk to each patient about the HSG. But it is a typical in standard part of a Fertility evaluation because it is the only way without surgery that you can ensure that the fallopian tubes are open.

    So what is an AMH of 7.7 mean...? I have been going through fertility testing/treatment for over a year. (My clinic is always booked so it took longer) We are about to start our 3rd cycle of IVF later this month. I remember them doing all these tests when we started but no one ever explained any of this/results to me or what they mean. We also haven't been having the best luck with embryos making it to freezing/PGT-A testing. I think we currently had 3 get sent for testing from our last cycle (waiting on results should get them next week) but 0 made it from the 1st.

I just got my fertility test results back and they all came back normal though they did not test AMH I was told just to "keep trying". Hi Dr. Shahine, my husband and I have been ttc for about a year with no luck. Have been considering switching obgyns, as I have felt that I needed to beg my Dr. to start running tests. Just had an appointment with my provider who recommended we skip the fsh blood test ( she said she only recommends this if you are going to do Ivf?) thoughts on that? Husband already did his semen analysis. She scheduled me for a sonohysterogram next week. Is that the same thing as an hsg and would you recommend this course of action for someone in my situation? Thanks so much!

      Thanks for reaching out! It's ok to get a second opinion or see a fertility specialist (reproductive endocrinologist). Please see my videos on finding the right fertility doctor for you. Please check with your doctor what test they ordered - different clinics use different terms and it can get confusing. I typically order a HSG for a fertility evaluation - see my video on that too. Best wishes!

    Doctor, I receive treatment for 2 years, it's really frustrated for me. My doc and me never have like discussion or give explanation regarding this. If I ask them it's everything ok they just answer yeah everything ok. That all. Even since I start visiting hospital, my doctor just give me contraceptive pill to consume. they said I need take the pill since i had irregular period. they said the pill will make my hormone balance and make my period regular again. I take that pill like 1 year. they never did HSG to me, they just did TVS for every visit. For my last visit last July, they stop giving me that pill and they ask me to naturally conceive until this upcoming Oct. Since stop consume the pill, my period had stop again, I had no choice but using opk to test my ovulation everyday. but till now still not working. It's really frustrated for me. Doctor you maybe give an opinion regarding or make video about treatment maybe can someone like me receive?

My question is at my age with FSH 5.64 Five days before my period started and me being obese can I get pregnant again naturally or not? I had IUD on for 9 years stayed two years till I got pregnant after removing it. With my age previous pregnancy and FSH is it possible to get pregnant again?
