      I. the video I explain why I’m working is spd our hospital is small so when we’re really busy I do it all I scrub cases and then help wash and sterilize instruments it’s good to be well rounded in everything and don’t be nervous and be open to learning

    How many OR suits does this hospital have? I am thankful i work at a large hospital, having a computer tracking program is great.

    Why no test on lap instruments? Did blow out them with forced air..???...hmmmm seems like RED FLAG...but every hospital requires different 😳

    How did you learn the name of the instruments , how do remember all of them any advice?

    • @sks8269
      @sks8269 Před 5 měsíci +3

      Repetitiveness will help memorize instruments. You also have count sheets that should have number and names of each instrument as you put tray together. I started from scratch hands on teaching under a great manager. That helps. After you receive 400 hours you can schedule through IAHCSMM to set up exam in your area for your certification.

      I studied the basics with flash cards and pictures with details when I was in school but the other ones like specialty instruments I learned while working with them and as the previous reply repetition of using them also if you work in spd for a week or two before going into the rooms you’ll have a better chance of learning them and remembering them

    Hi! Love your videos! I work as a Phlebotomist in a hospital and have been thinking of taking a Sterile processing course and possibly changing careers. Is there a lot of heavy lifting in this career? As a phlebotomist, always bending to draw blood is starting to take a toll on my back. Not sure if this is the right career move, please let me know your opinion, Thanks!

    • @glamtech_2151
      @glamtech_2151  Před rokem +7

      Yea there is a lot of heavy lifting tetas weigh at most 25 lbs and at times we are sterilizing and wrapping about 10 ortho trays which can get pretty heavy

    SPD is an easy job, that being said, people tend to overcomplicate it all the time! That is just my opinion.
