      @Avermra Před 4 měsíci +11

      meta decks have outs to the towers from the extra deck anyway. They are able to push through your board wipe+ negate trap if you didn't also end on sufficient hand traps.
      As Josh and many people who are or are not on the deck (i also am on this deck myself for fun and did very well with it at locals), the biggest advantage of the deck was people not knowing the correct chokepoints so they just hit the first card that you summon, which in a deck with like 5 different kind of extenders play in your advantage. Once the deck gets more exposure and people learn it gets a lot harder.

    This deck doesn’t lose to imperm, it loses to imperm OR nib. You can play around one or the other, but not both. I usually choose to play around imperm by waiting to go into raider’s knight until later in the combo after you summon raider’s wing with force strix to make knight untargettable. You lose to nib if you do that, but since most players are on 6 imperm and 3 nib, it makes sense to play around the one that is more likely to happen imo.

    • @David-hw9si
      @David-hw9si Před 4 měsíci +1

      completely agreed, and now there might even be more Ghost Mourners joining the party so the correct play is probably tunnel into Raider's Knight to play around targeted effect negation, and if they have NIb they have Nib.

    As someone who has played this deck a bit, I’ve found a couple issues with it. First, all of the extenders require you to already control a monster, so unless you have Simorgh or Bloom Vulture in hand, a single piece of removal being used on your normal summon can be turn ending. The other issue I’ve found is that all of your monster effects are ignition effects, and don’t trigger on summon, so your opponent can remove the monster before you had the chance to use its effect. Other than that small issue of removal hurting pretty hard, the deck feels great. It can play through hand traps fairly well, and the rank 13 can burn for some crazy damage against Snake-Eyes

  • @AzrielTheOne
    @AzrielTheOne Před 4 měsíci +15

    16:25 he's doing a very poor job of explaining. So I will. This deck has lines that let you play under droll and lock bird, and the only thing really hurts is the double impermanence. Veiler, while troublesome, can be negated and if you are Ash, Nibiru or Droll incorrectly, the deck punishes you because it's able to sequence to the same end board with 2 towers instead of three.

    • @Nikko_no_Tabi
      @Nikko_no_Tabi Před 4 měsíci

      Can you elaborate a bit further if you have time? Haven't played RR since 2021 and only Kali Yuga versions, so I'm looking for some current lines

    • @fxlja
      @fxlja Před 2 měsíci +2

      @@Nikko_no_Tabi a month late but let me try:
      Basically there is this argument that the deck dies to a few different types of handtraps. I've played this deck for the past month with the new build post-PHNI and I can say that it doesn't. Let's have a look:
      The deck can play absolutely fine under Droll. Once you add something through cards like Force Strix or Mimicry Lanius, and they Droll you, you can pivot into Wise Strix then rank up, and just keep pulling cards out of the deck via Special Summoning or Set to field directly. Zero care in the world.
      Ash Blossom only hurts Mimicry Lanius due to it having the largest search pool in the deck. However, people tend to use Ash on Tribute Lanius to prevent Mimicry from hitting the GY. Wrong move. Now you have a Raidraptor on the field and all your extenders are online. Not to mention the new card Noir Lanius is a very tempting Ash bait that can be special-ed with Bloom Vulture, which is un-Ash-able.
      Nibiru is a mixed bag. On one hand, you can't really make a rank 10/13 under 5 summons, but the sheer amount of built-in extenders in this deck really puts the pressure on the opponent on when to actually nuke you. I've eaten a nib to the face and still end up on a rank 13 + a beefy token. Sadly, under the threat of nib, you just push

      Swallows crow is good in theory but you need card advantage to win in RR, you usually need 2 birds so if you draw 1 bird and 1 swallows crow it’s not full combo. In the essence of RR it’s a win more card, not a combo extender or consistency booster. If you have 2 birds you have combo, if you have 1 and swallows crow thats not really combo

      @@gauravohol1749 If you tribute a card with a valuable gy effect, then that’s combo. There are definitely a decent number of two-card lines with Cowrie, and if you’re playing stuff like the Simorghs you’ve got a decent amount of redundancy. Not to mention the ability to search in draw to ensure your hand beats droll before it becomes an issue, and the fact you have some lines/hands where you can hold the card to dodge an imperm and still set up some sort of board afterwards.
      I only playtested the deck for a couple of hours the other day, so I don’t feel confident saying whether you’d want to play it or not. But it seemed like it opened up a lot of possibilities, and it didn’t ever brick me. The real issue for me was that the flexibility it offers is a lot more relevant going first than going second.

      I have been playing it for months and can tell you why you don't play it. The deck runs 15 handtraps. You don't want to add more bricks.

    • @HumanoidCableDreads
      @HumanoidCableDreads Před 4 měsíci

      The optimal hand is 3 Raidraptor names and two handtraps. If you tribute your monster with that spell and you get Ash'd you just went neg two and have no follow up. Having extra RR names in hand is what lets you play through handtraps.

    Number c62 galaxy eyes has base 4k atk and if you detach afterglow chain one c62 chain 2 afterglow, afterglow get all number monsters atk doubled c62 atk up to 3 of their monsters and with photon dragon c62 is unnafected by monster effects and gains 100 atk for each level of attached monster so c62 is annoying for raidraptors and c62 would be at about 12000 atk

      @Avermra Před 4 měsíci +3

      Yes, but you play extremely hard into Nib if you did not naturally open that and another extender, because you will be in Nib range before you summon Arsenal Falcon (2 level 4, Raider's Knight, Brave Stryx, Arsenal is the only way you can put Arsenal on the table before Nib range). So it is not true that this deck can easily play through hand trap like some people believe/claimed. You just have to decide which you want to play into more unless you open optimally (Wing+ extender). If you need to summon another monster prior to making Raider's Wing live, you will get punished very hard by Nib.

      I agree they are a terrible pick for YCS, but the reason is facing random rogue decks when you don't expect them. For example unless you play Blazeman (none does) you auto lose to Shifter. Thrust into D-Barrier (no fire deck plays d-barrier) hurts immensly. On top of that, Droll is everywhere that can be a turn ender depending on the hand. Finally Super Poly (most fire decks changed this to Crossout) can hurt since Linkuriboh is everywhere stopping the protection Dark Angel offered from it.
