I’m glad I picked up the UHQR at retail price. It does sound amazing. The instrument separation is excellent and the vinyl is crazy quiet.

Hi Steve and thanks once again for all the vintage album reviews. I am sure they did a great remaster on this version of Aqualung and I hope to get more of these timeless Jethro Tull album reissues. Thanks Steve for your dedication to preserving timeless vintage music and I wish you a most awesome day!!...Friends, Lloyd.

Always so kind Lloyd. Glad you enjoyed the vid. This version sounds incredible. I also like the Steven Wilson remix. Can’t beat that one for the price.

This release instantly reminded me of my mid range…. Very punchy…. What I like about it is the fact the even at a low volume I can hear all band members…. The track isolation in conjunction with the resolution brings the music closer to you. And…. Vinyl tends to make me listen to the entire release. I heard songs I’ve never heard before.. I enjoy those more than the popular tracks now. This one is puuuuure!

I have the Jethro Tull "Aqualung" Steven Wilson remix and it is spectacular. This is how this pressing is supposed to sound. I had been listening to the original release since 1971 and when I put this Steven Wilson version on it sounded like a new album.

Excellent video. Great detail and explanation. I do prefer my AP UHQR over the MoFi, but my MoFi is only VG- at best so it’s hard to compare them.

Thanks for the video. I think i need to deal with my obsession with keeping my vinyl sealed. :)) For this one; we need to meet with you halfway between Canada and Turkey to compare my Classic records 45rpm box set with your UHQR.

I have both the SW and UHQR, I think I prefer the SW version. And I have to say, I was underwhelmed by the packaging of the UHQR version. I bought it direct, not after-market.

DISCLAIMER- IF YOU’RE INTO AM RADIO - THIS ALBUM IS DEFINITELY FOR YOU-
First off, people should know it’s a HORRIBLY RECORDED ALBUM. Absolutely ZERO LOW END, especially “Aqualung”. Thin and anemic is the best way to describe Aqualung. What a LOST OPPORTUNITY. By Locomotive Breath things improve and is a 180 in sound quality compared to Aqualung.
    Classic Album? ABSOLUTELY
Sound Quality? Gets a 3 out of 10
Yes, the UHQR version has a ton of midrange presence but overall it is in no way an “audiophile” album…
Now, as far as “Clarity vinyl” is concerned: I’ve been buying Hobson’s Clarity vinyl long before it was “fashionable” and received its most recent hype- Clarity”vinyl is nothing special (it has improved in recent years compared to Hobson’s crap)
RTI’s VR900 (One Step) SUPER VINYL formulation ABSOLUTELY blows away this overrated and under performing “Clarity” vinyl when compared to VR900. Period - end of story
