The Sony PlayStation Net Yaroze - The Consumer Development Kit that was sold in 1997 and how it brought Games development for an affordable price To The Bedroom Coder.
Happy to say I own one of these now, it took me FOREVER to get everything else for it separately, especially the boot disc. Mines the Japanese version because the North American version is even more expensive.
Some of the Yaroze games I played on the Official UK PS Magazine disc were actually pretty decent. Part of me also wonders how well a retail black PlayStation would have sold. The Yaroze system itself looked great IMO.
I wonder why we never got any other colors ? Like the Saturn had at the time, black would have been cool yes and I agree the games were great considering the hardware access that Sony allowed the Yaroze and that colleges did courses using it never see that again today. Cheers 🍺
I have one of these complete in box on my shelf, never got around learning to code on it though. I don't suppose you could point me towards where you got the university course materials? I would love to have a copy of that to go with mine.
Hi thank you for showing the stuff thats included with the Net Yaroze great video!

I see they are reverse engineering the memory acess card

Nen Remake oder gar ne ps5 Version wäre göttlich 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
It wasn't just black it had a cool textured finish and came with 2 matching black controllers unlike the retail version which only had the one.
@@TheVetUk Sony didn't want to spend the extra money on other colors most likely.

I will have to dig it out can not for the life of me remember do you want a photo or a scan copy ?
@@TheVetUk wow if you could scan it and drop it on Google drive that would be amazing!
Is this PAL version region free? And will it work on Japanese CRT? Or just on PAL TVs?
@@blueebon03blue it outputs like a normal ps1, composite or scart
The Yaroze is region-free. It has both PAL and NTSC reference oscillators.
Hi, is the course material available anywhere to use to learn with? Thanks
I only have the notes and some stuff from Nottingham college
@@TheVetUkwould we be able to get them scanned at all?
@@winterlakehdm I’ll dig them out and get them scanned 👍
