Happy to say I own one of these now, it took me FOREVER to get everything else for it separately, especially the boot disc. Mines the Japanese version because the North American version is even more expensive.

Some of the Yaroze games I played on the Official UK PS Magazine disc were actually pretty decent.
Part of me also wonders how well a retail black PlayStation would have sold. The Yaroze system itself looked great IMO.

I wonder why we never got any other colors ? Like the Saturn had at the time, black would have been cool yes and I agree the games were great considering the hardware access that Sony allowed the Yaroze and that colleges did courses using it never see that again today.
      Cheers 🍺

It wasn't just black it had a cool textured finish and came with 2 matching black controllers unlike the retail version which only had the one.

I have one of these complete in box on my shelf, never got around learning to code on it though. I don't suppose you could point me towards where you got the university course materials? I would love to have a copy of that to go with mine.

The Yaroze is region-free. It has both PAL and NTSC reference oscillators.
