- Welcome to my first CZcams video!
As requested, in this video, I give an in-depth tutorial of how I tie-in a main residential panel.
I am located in British Columbia, Canada and follow the Canadian Electrical Code.
The panel in this video is a 200A Siemens Panel and I am using Siemens 15A Dual Function, 15A, 20A, 30/30A, 40/40A and 50/50A breakers.

I am in IT so I truly appreciate a good cable job and terminations at the rack, but rarely do I see such a clean job on the electric side. Awesome!
For real, I'm getting my cert in a few weeks. Seems she's got some tips i could learn for cable management too
Because it's not practical... Eventually something is going to need to be replaced and it'll be an absolute nightmare.
If you work non union or work around scabby outfits maybe you don't see nice panels. However in my experience, people in my union take pride on their panels.
@MrGuideElk very rarely you will need to replace cables in panels such as this one. The only time you will do is during a home gut remodel but that cam take decades. My home is built in the 1940's and I still have the same cables in the walls. Copper doesn't go bad.
@@Cyberdemon1985It's construction, something always goes wrong. In the end it's do it right, not make it look good.
I’m a drywall painting contractor, but I always take a peek inside a panel if it’s cut to see wether the electrician takes pride in their work or not. My neighbor is an electrician and he takes the same kind of care that you do. He cut my box for me and it’s a work of art!
I prefer braided wiring so I install circuit in sets of three circuits at a time :-0)
Most electricians takes pride in how their panels look, atleast in commercial.
Always interesting to see how they do it in other parts of the world. This is one of the cleanest panels I've seen on youtube.
This is the most beautiful panel work I’ve ever seen. I wish everyone was as detail oriented as you!
I was an electrical apprentice back in the early 90's. I never got to learn how to dress a panel before me and the industry parted ways. Later, I got into low voltage. I tried to keep a "tidy" panel and I improved over the years, but it never got to this level. I will be taking so of the stuff you showed here to improve my dressing and hopefully when I do the rewire at my home, my panel will look half as good.
Thank you for sharing and keep up the good work.
My mom was the second female jouneyman electrician at TVA back in the 70s. She worked in nuclear plants the entire time and everything had to be this neat. She wired her own house after she retired. Well done.
I’m a retired sparky. You have made a superb job of that panel. Back in the day I didn’t see any female sparkies so it great seeing more.
This reminds me of some of the Western Electric installs I've seen in the past in Telecom. No higher praise is possible. Outstanding job!
As a former WE Installer, everything had to be to exacting standards, including how to dress cables. We actually had our own quality inspectors check our work at intervals before the job was signed off. It's a pity how after divestiture other companies would outbid us and do totally crap work. Sad part was whenever we had to do an install after our competitors it was almost impossible to make it look like a quality job.
Finally someone who knows what they're doing and takes pride in their work!
Really? Do you think a terminator knows how the system works, absolutely not, I was in the trade for 35 years and I know many terminator and they don't have any idea how the system they are terminating works.
Glad I ran across this channel. I will be sure to recommend it to all my beginner electrical students, knowing that the female students will take particular inspiration from a role model and that everyone can appreciate the quality of the work. Nice that you're in Canada too. There are many different ways to wire a panel and do a nice job. This is certainly one of them.
Absolutely clean and neat! It is a pleasure (and refreshing) to see people take pride in their work. Keep it up.
What a beautiful job you have done! A lot of us really do appreciate all the hard work that people in your profession do when it's done correctly. You should be extremely proud of your work and should also be charging top dollar for it. Outstanding!
I LOVE Karly's work. I wish I could post pictures of my homes two completely populated panels, which are both complete disasters if you pop the covers and look at the rat's nest mess inside.
You do a great job! Keep up the good work! I’m an industrial lead foreman never get tired of making up gear switches and panels it’s relaxing
The panel looks so neat! I'm glad you made this video. I hope you post more content related to your work!
Best work ever. Also, kudos to whomever trained you added with your own experience.
That panel is a beautiful as you! A work of art. My son, with over 25 yrs of experience, occasionally sends me photos of his completed wiring jobs that show how much pride and care he also puts into his work. Most of his are large commercial and industrial jobs, often with huge wires and massive panels.
Guys...it's cool to give praise but quit being thirsty
I wired my first panel today with an old hat telling me how to do everything. I found it to be extremely relaxing and satisfying work and I truly enjoyed it!
Nice work!!
an extra hour of care makes for a lifetime of service ease. My company we ensure our panels are clean and well labeled, we aren't the cheapest but we usually are the best option on the repair for the low bid regretting homeowner. keep up the good work, maybe one day i'll have a offer for you to come out to alberta and show the old dogs women do it better.
Bravo ! We need hard working people in every line of businesses, people like you !
Appreciate the tutorial karly ! I haven’t done much panels so it is nice to see quality workmanship
You should also start uploading your works on CZcams. Do you upload them on Instagram?
32 year Electrician & new subscriber. Beautiful work young lady. Enjoyed the video. Keep ‘em coming. Be Safe. Be Blessed.
Excellent work, I really see not that you like it but that you love and value the profession. Blessings.
Really enjoyed watching someone do some REALLY great work and taking pride in their craftsmanship! Not something you see a lot these days. Keep up the great work!
Wonderful job, nice and clean, definitely shows you have pride in your workmanship.
Beautiful end product, you clearly take great pride in your work. Looking forward to more videos.
By placing the neutrals below the breakers, it makes it harder to land the neutrals for additional circuits
That is just so nice and clean... makes me want to pull the panel out my house and redo it now 😊❤️
If only if only so many other women can have the same mentality, drive, skill set and passion about your craft Karley, than this world I can truthfully say would be that much of a better place. I can bet my bottom dollar that you not only know what it means to make so many sacrifices and bust your tail, but it makes you appreciate what we men as laborers, blue collar workers go thru.
You are really good. 👍
I have been doing this for 40 years but I have to admit that you do a better job than I do. You need to update the video to show a good way to wire a panel with plug on afci breakers. They are now required in the US for new construction.
Super nice ! I bet the inspectors Love seeing you on the job site !
I’m 1 Billion % impressed….. Exceptional talent/work……
Discovered you from watching a Brett Cooper short. I enjoy seeing people pay attention to details. Excellent job, young lady.

Man i wish i see more electric panel like this. Great work!
Reminds me of how a stylist organizes long hair as they work on it. This type of work is so satisfying and being able to get paid for it is double the perk.

Beautiful!
2:55 you didnt even get to the panel yet and im already amazed! Makes sense why electrical work can be somewhat pricey now.
total satisfying watching this :D
Great job
Great job keep it up!! :)
Nice job!!
Looks good. I got to luv how soild wire lays I a panel. There is no need for sticky backs.
I'm in commercial/industrial, so it's all stranded, which I lay in with sticky backs and zip ties
A year later the sticky backs have failed
I figured you were in Canada when you used the term marrette. In the states we call ‘em wire nuts. My load centers are neatly done too, but you're an artist. You wired that panel in nine minutes and nineteen seconds, lol. I'd put you in a condo complex and you'd be good for six a day. Just kidding, that is one clean panel. Great job!!
Good job, i am also Belding electrician, nice job messes karly

You know it pays good when you working with a Patagonia T shirt🔥🔥
