Just got the 2021 version and even though they say it's just a season update, I can definitely tell the difference in dribbling and in the way the AI plays. Small changes but makes a big difference to playability, I'm really enjoying it! Fifa would have called these changes a new "revolutionary" edition, as they do each year. If this is what Konami calls a season update then 2022 is gonna smoke Fifa for good

Glad to see your channel is growing. Rooting for you spoony. I started playing soccer games (pes2018) when pes 2018 was out and found you right after. I didn’t know anything about soccer or playing a soccer game. I’ve literally played no other games(not madden, 2k, or any other) since I found pes. It is hands down the most fun to play, Aesthetically pleasing, and to me the most challenging sports game I’ve ever played. This is why I have not gotten bored with it. Just wanted to thank you for your help, knowledge, and all your tutorials. You have made my gaming experience a lot more enjoyable.

What you do in training mode and offline mode can rarely be replicated to online play. The button delay is absolutely horrific

Pes 2021 has definitely impressed this year, It's literally a modders wet dream of how they want the game.

Now I'm going to be playing for a full year. Instead of the last couple of months of a game. I will have to learn skills. No FIFA this year. I'm just going to be playing PES.
Used these tricks and tips and it improved my game alot more as im not the best at skills and dribbling past players but was playing as dortmund and managed to get 7 fouls in the game and scored after going round 2 players ended 1-0 probably should of scored more but thats football. I just got to remember that not every player is capable of turning as quick as others. Cheers Spoony.

Thanks alot for your tutorials brother, been really helpful, quick question, the major difference between finesse dribbling and high speed dribble is, for high speed u release all your control and then press your L stick with run, while for finesse dribbling u just have to click the R stick and then run plus direction, no need to release the controls right bro?
Finesse is r-stick only. Push the direction you wish to move the ball

I struggle most with dribbles, I just never been able to get my head round it even in past PES. In the heat of the moment I just move the right stick randomly and it typically either flicks the balls over the players head or im dispossessed with ease

could you explain how to do a full speed 45 degrees turn, that used to be done with r1+r2 and a direction change, when the finesse dribbling used to be done with r2 rather then the right analog stick?

Thanks dude. Thats not so easy now....but... Release all controls and double tap sprint and flick L-Stick 45 degrees. See my 2020 high speed dribbling - think it's in there

When i do Close Control or Finesse Dribble then doing Drag back or Double Touch
It much faster rather than doing "release all contro" on my ps3 and ps4

Nice, Spoony! Since online games have a different pace and pressure to it, I would much appreciate if you could do a tutorial within this context! Dribling and attacking this year is phenomenal! Defending not so much...A bit unbalanced I would say, but fine by me, hope konami doesn't patch it!

how do you recommend to practice this ?. It just seems so hard to play as fluid as you do . I feel so clunky and unresponsive and the defender always just bashes me out of the way and takes the ball.. :(

Pes is an offline game. You cant play this responsive online. Input delay is absolutely horrendous. Offline and training mode you can play 10 first time passes with ease. Go online you cant play a single first time pass. Every player controls the ball and then takes 2-3 touches before releasing the ball again. By that time you've been surrounded and lost the ball. Shielding online is also non existant. Player just stands still and let's any player just take the ball off them
Tnx ,i was waiting for this.i bought the update as you recommended, its very fun version of last year with a lot of gameplay improvements ,i think they still need to fix the collision system while u r dribbling, sometimes i cant response fast enough before the defender tackle me ,but its very close game for the ultimate soccer gameplay,i really enjoy it for now &recommended that version.

They need to fix the auto select for the limbo ball scenarios, eg, sometimes a loose ball isnt registering to be picked up by the nearest player and he jockeys the space around it until the opposition scoops the ball, is this happening to anyone else?? Has cost me so many goals last few days....
@@DJeMo ye man ,happened to me 2.they need to fix some issues there before it will be a gr8 game.but its still a fun game compared to last year miserable gameplay.
I prefer yet the finesse dribble with just R2 and L, than forcefully using the R3 stick.

Manual shot? Usually best to aim to the middle of the goal to be sure though.
Feels like both crossing and shooting have been nerfed since PES 2018.
Great as always Spoony. PES challenges us when it comes to dribbling rivals, it is more difficult than dark souls hahaha. One question, I do not quite understand the function of R2 in combination with the right stick. How does it work? Hug.
R2 is there for certain skills, like step over for example. Sometimes I'll press R2+R1 to stop the ball. This is important sometimes

I need to practice because I always end up gettin confused and forgetting in the heat of a match, kinda like a fighting game in regards to memorizing the specific inputs
Hi cool tutorial, but how do you even get in to training session i can't find that option in the menus on my pes 2021 season update.
The gameplay still doesn't feel properly fluid to me but maybe its because I always use super cancel. Theres a still massive space between players which makes it annoyin to retrieve possession & they're not responsive despite flicking the right stick to player select.
The 1st touch is ridiculously heavy for each player & the gameplay still feels a bit pedestrian. Bookings are still rare & penalties are even rarer. It retains that nice weighty feel to the ball as ever but there's a lot of work that still needs to be done to this series.

Finesse dribbling is not so confortable. I prefer the old system with R2. Very easy. Now we must keep L2 to make feints. I don't understand why they have complicated a very easy system of dribbling that garanted a lot of fun.

i used this all PES20 with Ronaldinho and Neymar. if you are great with it, adding the super cancel shot to the skill makes Messi powerful

Pro tip, make sure it's not connected via usb , it's faster over Bluetooth

@@SpoonyPizzas I have a 1ms AOc monitor, but I have been steaming it to my TV which is just a 1080p.. Good point actually.. Maybe the TV is not getting it fast enough 👍👍👍

Hi Spoony thank you for nice and useful video. I wanted to just mention 3 points regarding this year's gameplay. It is generall a major improvement especially in player's response and movement. What still needs to be improved to be a perfect game are the following in my opinion: a) AI body shielding is too much and does not represent reality, b) Too many tackling from AI also not realistic and c) AI Scoring easily free kicks even from long distances (especially super star and legend level). I counted around 80% of AI free kicks are goals (and you can't stop them). I would appreciate if you have any hint about this and how to react. If they improve those three points, we will have a very balanced and nice gameplay. What is your opinion about this?

When you say R1 and R2 are super cancel is this default control settings.
Both default and alternative (sprint + special controls)

@@stephenhale1374 I'm not being facetious here, but that's the point: everything stops when you're super cancelling. That doesn't always mean your player will freeze in place, think of it more as cancelling all controller inputs you made.

I already have the scoreboard server for sider 7 which i downloaded from a youtuber called TechRealm... it works perfect ! dude and what does RT? I see you using it pretty much here? Sorry might be an obvious question which probably I can check myself, but still waiting for 100% installation of PES. Plus I'm old school PES player (PES6 etc) when I used to use RT a lot with my lovely Shimizu to fool the entire defense :D
It's changed now mate. RT is special controls, ideal for improved first touches. RT and RB held down is super cancel - see my super cancel video

Hey Spoony, I've only just installed 2021. I must say it feels remarkably the same to 2020, no discernible differences?? I did however notice while I was waiting for it to install on PS4 you were able to play a basic local match between Argentina v Portugal. Did you see this?? 🤷♂️ Now that felt different, little flicks and touches here and there and subtle different animations. Almost like a demo of things to come.... Then I dive into the main game and find it virtually the same to 2020. Annoying!! Was it my imagination....??! 🤷♂️🤪
Hi mate, I played 2020 to death the week and day before 2021 launch (3-12hrs sessions) the differences are SO noticeable. Load 2020 up and play it for a sustained period of time and then wack on 2021. Guarantee you'll feel big differences. I didn't play that match as I had mine preloaded
Do you know how to do multiple stepovers? I can only seem to do one on one side and then sprint the other side. I can’t do two or three before sprinting
You'll need auto feint off and to rotate stick, see Top 3 skills video BUT... there's no point as your player slows down too much by the second step over it renders the skill ineffective mate. Cheers
Spoony Pizzas in the video you showed how to do it once. I wouldn’t say there’s no point. People do it in real life but I guess PES agrees with you if it’s not possible to do it here (just switched from fifa). Thanks mate. Your videos are helping a lot.
In pes 20 i used to use 4 cb’s a lot of times(with De Boer) but now its not possible to change lb and rb to cb. So annoying how they controll how we play.
You don't have to change.. the more you play lb or rb at cb they will become proficient at that position.. if you play a CB at CF or SS he will gain experience & skills in playing at that position, just look at your players attributes in the positions page & you will see what I mean..
Spoony bro in PES 21, REUS and Halstenberg were not there in the German team since beginning. Any idea? Even after installing DP1 I couldn't find them in the national team pool
I've got Reus in mine through PES universe (I think!). Once transfers etc updated I think we'll see them back

Pes is an offline game and always will be. This game is unplayable online. Every player takes 2-3 touches before passing despite pressing pass before they even receive it. Skill controls work one in 10 where as in fifa they work 99 times out of 100. The dribbling is OK offline but online it is non existant
Is that true on 2021 ? Haven't bought the game because of the op standing tackle and people press r1x with almost no risk of being dribled .... :/
I disagree. You might just need to get used to the game. Especially with the taking a touch part, if you make sure you pass the ball at the right time, the player recieving it gets a good pass, and you press pass at the right time you will always one touch the ball. I know this, because it has been my playstyle for ages online. In this pes it works a lot better, also the dribbling. I actually love dribbling with Salah a lot online because it's been a while, dribbling passed someone is very satisfying to me online. But it's just my opinion. If you want fifa style dribbling then that is your answer. Fifa dribbling is arcade like, easy and effective to use, pes dribbling is harder to learn (it looks easy in the video, but it takes more skill then just pressing the right button) making it more football sim like (pes is also an arcade game, but leans more towards realism).

Hi spoony, I know you’re on PES21 now, but me and my brother are still playing 20. Since 21 has come out, 20 has been shocking to play online. Responsiveness is awful, passing is awful, lag is awful. Is this a direct move by Konami to make people move on to 21?

Default controls mate (if you're referring to on screen gamepad - otherwise it's custom) i made a video about it, search spoony, PES, controller settings. Same for best camera settings, but here I'm using different camera settings to show the various moves
