  • How to change the front tire of your NIU KQI3.
    As with any scooter tire, it's not the easiest process. However, with a few tools and a little persistence, anything is possible.
    This process is the same for most tubeless tires from other manufacturers, although the process of removing the tires will be different.
    After filming, this video was reviewed by the team over at NIU. When they put the tires on the scooter, they pop the bead by using high-pressure air up to 140psi and set the tire pressure to around 50. I don't have a high-pressure air pump, so I made do the best I can with a foot pump. Luckily this did the trick. Your results may vary and I would suggest that if you are struggling, then please take the tire to a local mechanic that deals with tires to be able to help you pop the bead back onto the rim. They may charge you for this.
    For road use. However, if you live in a place like the UK where you get a lot of rain, you will need to deflate the tires to around 37-40psi to ensure that you make use of the grip.
    Thank you to NIU for sponsoring this video.

    This has been a long awaited video, really anxious without having a proper guide for changing the tubeless tires. Thank you, now I can ride without worrying about sending the scooters back to NIU when I get a flat.

      Glad it will help. Keep an eye out for the rear wheel change. There will be a battery compartment video first as you have to do that before you can remove the rear wheel

    Thank you so much for making these videos ! I can't find any bicycle shops in Palm Beach County Florida that will attemp to fix an e-scooter. Just to much work involved to change a tire if you ask me. Pray that the back tire lasts for a while ! Mine lasted six months on pavement with normal riding and the tires always inflated properly.

    Would 10x3 inch tires be too big for the wheels?

    Are the self sealing tyres on the NIU KQI3 Max more of a gimmick or do they work?

      If the beat isn’t seating correctly. Take it to a tire mechanic. They’ll be able to use high pressure to pop in back in the rim

      @@ScootLetsGo Thats awesome! Thanks so much. Having to open up the deck to disconnect the rear motor cable looks like a PITA. I subbed to your channel. :)

    Hey bro just wondering to get my first scooter should I get a kqi3 max (1000CAD$)or ninebot Max(1200CAD$)

      Kqi3 aaaall the way

    • @carrickdubya4765
      @carrickdubya4765 Před rokem

      I have the Kqi3 Max and I like it but the steering can get squirrelly over uneven surfaces so always have both hands on deck. Tried the ETWOW GT SE if you are interested because I wanted a lightweight speedster. But my feet would hurt after only 10 minutes and acceleration was slow. With the Niu I have zero pain and it's a torque monster. The Ninebot is much slower out of the box and will be too expensive to get everything the NIU comes with like dual disc brakes etc, so just get the NIU.

  • @Sobral_T

    The tire is ok but the valve loses pressure instantly after i fill the tire

    • @ScootLetsGo
      @ScootLetsGo  Před rokem +1

      You will need to take the tire off and insert a new valve. Which is simple to do. But the tire needs to be off. But check to see if the valve is seated correctly first.

      Only a little bit. It doesn't matter so much to me. I did say that people can protect thier rims a little more if they choose to

  • @futureshock7425

    And do not touch the rotor 😂 with your fingers don’t you add sealant too?

    • @M0DALsoul
      @M0DALsoul Před rokem

      Coming from the cycling world I'm wondering about sealant as well, but as long as a proper seal is made it shouldn't be needed much like a car's tire/rim set up. The tires Niu use are advertised as self-healing as well, but I'm also wondering how well they self seal.

    I physically cannot get my tire off of the rim. It’s absolutely shredded and I still cannot get my tire off.

      If the tire is already beyond repair. Then just cut it off.
