Mike Costello meets with Anthony Joshua ahead of #JoshuaRuiz2 to reflect on his defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr and reveal how he's been preparing for the rematch. - Sport
Interviewer: What’s your name.
Joshua: Great question, great question 🤔.
Bcfcmansell 🤣
😂
The questions are good questions. And AJ is thinking about them, considering, contemplating. AJ's right.
lol too much boxing will do that to you

What a weird angle for an interview

The camera operator came straight from a POV shoot...

How else are we suppose to see his butthole?

so true :D
finally an interviewer with a good listening. other guys just prepare their controversial sort of questions and stick with it. on the other hand this guy mostly listens then asks good ones. he goes with the flow.
He's listening to AJ do mental gymnastics and trying to convince himself that he has confidence and that he's "fixed the problems".
Probably as this guy is a proper journalist or media professional rather than just some CZcamsr with a camera
Listen to his podcast with Steve Bounce . Best boxing podcast out there
He’s always been a great British interviewer, got a good podcast also.
@Chezzamaine i am a tyson fury fan. so i don't care if he pressed or what from the begining.
i just wanted to dig in aj's mind with a good interview after a big loss.
this guy asked hard ones also listened and asked good ones too. that is why i liked it. pissing someone off for the hype doesn't work for me, i am not 7 years old anymore.
Superb interviewer - we need to see him more.
b5byt he has a regular podcast with Steve bunce on five live 👍
Too bad the interviewee is so horrible.
Salty Chilli
Such a good listener.
Hangover Chilly.. "Oh, Oh look at me everyone, I want to be a mindless twat and score "I hate AJ" points! Oh, Oh."
great interviewer btw, Cotello is very underrated, great guy, he does the play by play, gives a constant commentary of what's happening so that people with vision issues etc. can know what's happening.
walter white He was intimating about the way Costello commentates on fights on the Radio. He’s a great Commentator on BBC Radio 5 Live Boxing.

Rich Texas plenty do......
I loves my Sangsom Sangsom why?
Marq LOECSTA Well Said
“Andy beat me and that’s that” much respect
It’s hard not to like both of these boxers...
Chezzamaine. So what?
Well, I hope that makes you sleep better at night at least.
That's the truth anything other than him admitting he got beat would have been him being in denial because everyone saw him get beat.
Looks like AJ dialled down all the promotional gigs during camp this time. More focused on boxing and learning.
Lookin forward to it.
Ghost Wind he don’t look focused to me ...Ruiz ko’s AJ again
this interview makes me feel like AJ's already beaten & his strategy is to try to gain Ruiz caliber of experience during a training camp via sparing.
Ghost Wind AJ ain’t ready. He’s broken you can tell
Your God just because he's not talking like a loud mouth idiot doesn't mean he's broken, I really like him and Andy, you never really know, but we will see soon
@@mansamusa9077 how does focused look are you expecting him to grawl at the camera and start smashing things over his head or run around punching holes through walls screaming I'm ready bitch 😂
A man loses once, and people call him all sorts of frauds. I can’t wait till AJ shut you naysayers up come Saturday and never ever open your mouth to disrespect the legend again. Champ champ !
My man went on the BBC with socks and Sliders you know!!! Legend!
Pause
Why does that make him a legend

@SRZ1 Because I can show up in gold plated shoes to impress you but the humility in me lets me show up however I want and not how you want me to
Thanks for the interview.
Mike Costello seems to be a very humble person. When u see a good person they shine and 100% his got the shine bless. Aj hope you get your belts back and dont make the same mistake which you made on that night
This is an excellent young man, conducting himself naturally and with composure in the face of unyielding pressure. He'll win.
Richard Morrison the mindset is superb. I’d take that attribute over anything else!
On the contrary; The old man seems to be controlling the calm energy in the room. Not a good sign for Anthony.
This is Boxing not a Tea Party😒. Thats why AJ loss cuza soft comments like that. Who cares about hiz composure he needs FIRE👊 🔥 He need to talk to Wilder😊

No but he stole it almost word for word...I was led to believe we are an evolving species?
no no I don´t agree with AJ saying that Ruiz beat him fair and square, I think the reason was that he sneezed three times in the morning before the fight.
You got something mixed up there😂👍
Got his ass kicked by ruiz.
And he gave up just like kahn must be a thing in the UK they give just like they Rugby union team as well South Africa handed it to them 🤣🤣

Great interviewer, you can see he really cares about what A.J says and isn't just asking questions from a script
Got the prison hair going on even with the grey tracksuit.
He’s in the zone.
J J this comment made me crease 😂😂😂😂😂
The hair and grey tracksuit is really going to help him when he gets into the ring.
Tells you how he's going to destroy that your cartel son
Stop being silly he/our natural hair is not prison hair. That’s negative and you guy need to change your mind set. Prison is for the weak in mind nothing more or less. Peace!
Peace First calling people weak and trying to change people’s mindsets? So much for peace
This will be a great fight ..to see if he figured it out.

AJ talks so much sense. Can see he is a student of the sweet science and takes it so seriously. Deserves so much more respect than he gets, and will make a great trainer one day too
I think he talks shite..aj is top man and maybe win but God can he not just answer the question 😴😴
Trainer?! LOL!
he's not a student of the sweet science. he's a fairly good boxer, and a big puncher. and no i couldn't beat him before anyone thinks i'm attacking him. there are levels. good enough to beat many but not top level. he sounds like he is a student and deep into his boxing, but that's because he knows this is his ticket to riches, and he's at least good enough to earn big money for a while. but being a 10 year champ or anything special... NO. dillian would beat him if they ever met again. fury is what you call a student of the sweet science, or mayweather or lomachenko. hit and don't get hit. all move in ways no one else in their divisions do or can.
He still getting knocked out....
Student of the sweet science who just said he doesn't know how to score a fight?
Love these very calm non click baity type interviews.
You don't have to shout at your subject when interviewing them, you don't have to load your questions and rehearse them to the nth degree.
Just keep it calm and natural and for the most part it will be a good interview.
Thumbs up.
Thanks for show peoples, your doing grate
Mike Costello asked all the right questions to make this a brilliant interview. I can only see victory for AJ now he’s saying all the right things
Really good interviewer he is, and underrated.
@walter white Too much coke mate
‘We have an office but the tripod is super short, and is it the right angle for this interview?

Excellent interview from Costello. A Masterclass.
Excellent interview...one of the best, if not the best I've heard him do. The interviewer asked many thoughtful and insightful questions!
imo, this is AJ's most confidence-inspiring interview since the loss...
Great interview, you all need to listen to the Bunce and Costello podcast, it’s a great listeb

Best interviewer by far
irikanji agree
Good interview!!
Quality interview. 👌🏻
It's such a shame that no one seems to talk or remember the fact that this guy has crazy power too just like Deontay Wilder..AJ has 21 knockouts on his resume from his 23 fights so far as a pro..that's not normal
Slow, slow, slow, slow, slow.
AJ is such a great dude, hope he gets this done.
@branded a beast Good price though.
@Championship Boxing irrelevant, he's not been interviewed here.

Mr. Costello you are such a good interviewer loved this
Enough can’t be said about an interviewer who can improvise and adapt based on the interviewee’s answers. That’s what pros do. This guy’s a pro.

Ajs gonna always have that charm. He's a great guy, a great champion..
Aj is an incredible guy. Truly deserves this after his camp + visit to Nigeria, best of luck to the best heavyweight out there!
2:30 the issue has never been getting AJ in the gym. He's an athlete. The issues are not defending the left hook and inability to fight on the inside and learning on the job.
Looks to me like Anthony is coming out of the closet, he's sat there flashing his arse with his leg over his knee whilst constantly complimenting the interviewer who can't take his eyes off his black ass.

Very good questions being asked here. Good Interview
This is a fantastic interview, great questions, great answers. It seems more like a conversation then an interview nothing feels forced and it was very informative. Saying all that, in my opinion, AJ wins by knock out.

Joshua goes get him and regains the legacy. Imperfect record is not a problem, the point is winning the game of a battle. You can do it and life moves on!!
Right from the end of the Ruiz I fight, Joshua didn't fake it about losing; he didn't blame the ref, and say he wanted to continue and the ref took it from him. He knew he lost. In retrospect, that was the first step, right there, where he began to rebuild. What an awesome dude, and a great champ.
Anthony “ two 50’s makes 100%” Joshua aka Micheal “who ever scores first, takes the lead” Owen
He had body conditioning people in the past. He's put that to one side and is focusing on boxing, sparring, footwork, head movement, defence, attack. Less of the weights etc.
He's got championship level sparring partners. He's going 12 or 13 rounds with these guys, regularly.
I heard he's doing 2 rounds with 1 guy, then they put in a fresh guy for 2 rounds, then another fresh guy.
So he's training for a lot of energy coming towards him.
Newcastle score a header in the last min.
Micheal ‘they’ve won it with the last kick of the game’ Owen
You do realize he's on about peds when he says about 50 50. Cutting it

T Washington I know what you're going through I felt the same way about Wilder, but now I have taken a liking to him after seeing him with Ortiz after their epic slugfest.
I think it's a bit of jealousy really, I look at wilder and I see a guy just throwing wild hands and he keeps on winning with a big mouth, I didn't like him because he did what he did the way he did it. Lol I admit it. But he's a good guy. Not my style of boxer I'd pay to watch

Anthony Joshua makes my brain work extra hard to understand what he is trying to say
It's because your stupid
"Im not perfect but im trying" Wilder could really learn a lot from this guy, the black community should look up to AJ not the guy who blames everything else and never takes responsibility for a single thing whilst calling himself a king and saying he wants a body on his record. AJ reps Nigeria and england well Wilder reps himself.
Facts....... i respect AJ more than Wilder more especially after that loss and Wilder came up with a million excuses on why he lost and AJ didn't make one.... he instead got focused, got in the gym and got his titles back

Two classy men. Costello is a radio commentary legend.
11:54 he finally puts that leg down. And the interview starts....
“Sometimes a shot hits me and I’ve no idea where it came from” this is why he got beat first time.
The problem is their different angles, velocity and profusion. There is a limit to how many of such shots a human can evade.
He got beat cause he wasn’t prepared for a skilled technical fighter who has a granite chin. Andy’s speed, movement and fundamentals are a combination that AJ has not seen before. AJ said, “I lost” no he didn’t lose he quit, their is difference.
juanio I don’t think it’s fair to say that Joshua quit.
