    In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens czcams.com/users/postUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

    Thanks for the tips buddy!! I do have a garmen fish finder I actually have two of them with one being the live scope unit!! But for someone that has never used a fish finder let alone even barely see one other then one on another boat!! They have become kinda tricky to use I think but I would just keep going back to bass pro where I baught both units and ask questions on the units!! Like the very first time I got my first unit I installed the intire thing myself on my 18’ flat bottom boat and then took it out and I could not hardly even see the screen at all so I would end up asking bass pro shops what I would need to adjust so I could actually see the screen!! But with bass pro being at least 45 minutes to an hour from me it can get old also!! The other things I would do would just mess around with buttons and see exactly what they can do on the screen this way has also helped me get a little bit more familiar with how to run the unit!! Awesome video buddy and thanks again for the tips on the unit!!

    Here's an idea. How about heading up to a northern shield lake like Kabetogama. Large body of water, no brush piles like in the area lakes, and give it a shot during various times of the year. The lake has an abundance of large fish but due to the size of the lake its very difficult to locate them.
    I challenge you!

    I've had tons of questions learning my garmin echomap. Don't have live scope but the side, down and traditional. Thanks for help with other settings. I'm on a big pontoon. I think I mounted my transducer too high on bracket. I'm not getting echos, but do see fish if I switch to fish symbol. It's weird. I think it needs to be a little below the pontoon bottom. I hate to orange. I like the grey or black white screen for downscan.

    • @pain_weaver
      @pain_weaver Před 3 lety

      The garmin 93sv is compatible with livescope. Its a 1k unit. Many are getting those because hummingbird does not have that capability. However they do have 360. But its just an image. Once the live 360 comes out it might change things again. The hummingbird units that work with 360 will work with 360 live.

    • @FloppingCrappie
      @FloppingCrappie  Před 3 lety

      Humminbird just released its mega live transducer which is the competitor to the Garmin Livescope. The mega live transducer is compatible with newer Humminbird units, but it may be hard to find a transducer in stock.

    • @FloppingCrappie
      @FloppingCrappie  Před 2 lety

      No sure why the crawfish orange pallete isn't showing. there is an arrow (up and down) on the far right of the screen that shows multiple pages of pallets. that's the only thing i can think of. as for the zoom function, are you referring to the zoom in/out with the touch screen or a different option?

  • @tjtewshews5531

    How do you tell the difference between crappie and white bass on down imaging? Also what do you do when youre on a school that looks to be crappie and they wont bite live minnows on jigheads? Do you switch jigheads? throw plastic? switch techniques say from vertical jigging to try and swim something through the school? leave to find another school or all of the above?

    • @FloppingCrappie
      @FloppingCrappie  Před 2 lety +1

      You never know for sure if it's a school of white or crappie. On the lake I filmed this video, there aren't any white bass. I start with a jig/plastic and switch to a hair jig if I can't get a bite. A slip bobber and minnow is the last option, and If I cant get a bite in that I move to another spot. I'll try this spot later in the day to see if the bite turns on.

    Enjoy your vids. Although I can interpret down imaging I'm struggling with the term. If it is truly pinging straight down why do we see a side view of the structure? If you set up over a tree then a true image would show the top of tree but we get the side view.

    It shows what's directly under the transducer . . . But what about the fish that are two or three feet to your left or right???
    You pass right by them and never know they're there.

    • @FloppingCrappie
      @FloppingCrappie  Před 3 lety

      Down imaging will show a slightly larger area under the boat than 2d sonar. If the fish are outside of the beam below the boat, then you won't be able to see them on the screen. Unfortunately this is the limitation of 2d sonar and down imaging.

    Thanks for the videos - getting into it and just picked up the Garmin 73 SV - when you are vertical jigging without a slip bobber do you normally count seconds to estimate your depth of the jig after cast? I dont have live scope or anything like that but I was wondering if you are just casting a 1/8 or 1/16 how you estimate when you are about 14-16 ft vs if you were only about 10ft - shallow depth seems easy enough but for 15ft plus I feel like im just guessing? Thanks alot!
