Completely agree! The fact that it keeps getting worse makes me feel like it's already been transferred to bed sheets etc. It might also be for the best to just plainly throw things out, also might want to get the car's interior professionally cleaned....probably on the seats and other contact areas.
Wash your entire body with dawn dish soap. It cuts any remaining oils. Then cleanse the rashes with alcohol to dry them out. I’m highly allergic to any “poison” plant. This method keeps me from having the rashes last more than a couple days. And of course as previously mentioned, wash all clothing, bedding, wash rags, towels, stuffed animals, furniture that you have touched with the rash as any blisters that may have popped will spread via them and any oils you have remaining on your skin from initial contact will linger on those surfaces.
As a person in healthcare, this is the best at home remedy! Just gotta make sure it's the original soap. It's animal friendly and the brand is also a wildlife ambassador. On top of that, adding a tiny bit to your laundry will help disinfect and break down any stains building up. Even people with allergies to scents use dawn dish soap. It's such an amazing product
this while it will help the poison ivy oil getting it off their body will kill good bacteria ion the body especially in the vaginal area and disrupt the pH levels in the vagina. this can/will lead to infections. the dye and harsh chemicals in the soap are not safe for the female reproductive system nor the male but have more extreme effects on the female reproductive system.
Lidocaine spray may help numb it and make it more tolerable. Put it on before the calamine, but fyi it may sting a little at first if you have any breaks in the skin. Wash your sheets daily to avoid respreading it. ❤
Also, after you wash the sheets the first time, you can't spread it. What spreads it is the oil from the plant. Once that is washed off, you cannot spread it.
Oatmeal baths are amazing! As someone who deals with MCAS it helps. Same with lavendar essential oil, like a good amount in a bath with about 2 cups of oatmeal and make sure it's warm water
It seriously helps if you don’t touch it. The oils are what make it spread, so try not to touch any of the rashes and wash your clothes every day. Hope it gets better soon. ❤❤
Oatmeal baths are an absolute godsend! And try a cool compress of domeboro solution. It’s really the best thing that always works for me. Your drugstore should carry it. I’m highly allergic to poison ivy and many detergents and both of those have always been my go to!
My husband works outside and sometimes gets poison ivy even though he protects himself there's always a chance. Anyways, he uses Tecnu poison ivy and oak body wash scrub, then uses a benadryl spray on the affected areas n recently i found out mometasone furoate ointment cleared it the fastest. Good luck hope it dries fast.
Same thing happened to me two weeks ago, and I was diagnosed with Urticaria. Looks exactly like it! It's not curable but very easily treatable. Get better soon 🙏
I have that same condition!!! The full name (at least for mine and I think for yours too!) is Urcticaria Pigmentosa. Apparently it was put in my medical record when I was a baby even though I had never had hives before I was diagnosed 🤷♀️

Lavender Epsom salts bath; Benadryl and a good painkiller (600mg ibuprofen), taken consistently; Benadryl topical cream Wash all the clothes, bedding, and towels in hot water. Change bedding and wash everything worn in contact daily. Good luck!
Yes! Calamine comes in a spray form and it is is much better than the dab on liquid stuff. Also, not a doctor or giving advice, but i take 2 benadryl every 4-6 hours and i try not to let it wear off. Only clean cloths and towels and don't use the same piece twice. Most important... cool baths and DO NOT TOUCH. The more you touch, scratch, rub, transfer, etc. The worse it will get. If no improvement in 3 days. Go have to the doctor.
I had it a few years ago, it spread to my face, my eyes, and the entirety of my body. The doctor said i was lucky i didnt go blind. Im super glad yall went and got it taken care of
Tecnu! Trust me, my husband works outside and is crazy allergic. If it’s still spreading, then you need to use it. And you need to wash your shoes because I’m sure you have already washed your clothes.
THIS!!! My Granny would swear by it and we live in TN. My bf breaks out like this unless he uses technu right after yard work! You can still use it and yes wash everything
Yep. I had it for weeks. My grandmother had to take care of my kids and the house as I was completely incapable of touching anyone and anything. Good luck.

just so yall know city md is an urgent care that has several locations around nyc that take people in for cases that ARE urgent but not life-threatening. i would say a skin issue like this is urgent. sometimes emergency rooms are able to take you in as well. this could be anything at this point and could spread severely, how is this not an emergency
My daughter had it pretty bad. Her face swelled up, tons of blisters every where. We ended up having to take her to the ER for an IV steroid. And that helped so much.
Bruh I once had this happen to me and it was absolutely horrible!! I was still in school at the time and I missed almost an entire week of school. Haven’t gotten it since. Its been many years and I just I’m just immune now🤷♀️😂
@Notiravgsarah I wonder how it would have gotten there, I thinking this too, but it just didn't add up. Unless it was overhanging the tub or something?
Ironically I’ve been around poison ivy since I was kid running around in the woods and not a single time I got a rash. My dad is similar but my mom if my dogs get the oils on their fur and she’ll still get it.
Had it. I had on a turtleneck, flannel shirt over it jeans, shoes. I took a drink to my kids that were clearing brush. After several steroid treatments, they decided that I didn’t touch it (wasn’t on any exposed skin) but I had inhaled it in the air particles. Worst case ever. I was miserable for a month. I feel for you.
😟 that sounds awful. I’m so sorry you went through that. Do you mind if I ask how it manifested? Was it on your skin or was it irritating your lungs or both?
@@FollowmedowntheNumberWhole it started having weird spots on my body but not the area exposed-face hands. The worst was on my whole trunk on the sides. It took 2 dose-packs of steroids and then a huge steroid shot to get it to subside. I didn’t experience any lung issues but I am asthmatic so it could have been there too. They decided because it kept breaking out in new and random spots for weeks. I didn’t even touch the kids’ clothes when I washed them. I used a stick to put them in the washer and I didn’t spread by touch because it never got on my hands. It was weird and awful! Wouldn’t wish that on an enemy!😀
This sounds crazy but a nurse once told me when I had a reaction to creeping Virginia, that a warm blow dryer to the affected area until it becomes almost too warm does wonders for the itching. It’s as if you are itching it and the relief of the itch can last for hours. It sounds crazy but it’s the only thing that got me through it…just don’t burn yourself, it’s an incredible feeling and helps SO SO much!!
Just watch out for contamination like the car and other stuff bc if u did not wash before u touched it u may still have the oils and this will keep the rash
I have never gotten a rash from poison ivy, but I have broken out in full body hives before that looked EXACTLY like that. The doctors said it was probably because of pollen, but I had never had any sort of reaction to pollen other than a bit of congestion. I still don’t fully believe it was because of pollen. It was one of the worst experiences of my life, but one thing that REALLY helps is a cold bath. Also DO NOT take hot showers (it makes it spread sooooo much faster and it stays longer). I recommend getting one of those Cortizone 10 sticks. The relief with those doesn’t last for long, but it helps with those spots that just keep itching no matter what. I hope you’re clears up quickly!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Also, take aveeno oatmeal bath. Several times a day. And lightly dust the area of rash with baby powder or baking soda every few hours It will help absorb the poison fluid oozing from the sores. Other ideas: Witch Hazel helps heal the blistering wounds. Aquaphor will also help with healing post rash
Oof that’s the worst feeling. I had it as a teen and my legs turned purple with blisters. Wash literally everything you own at this point and ice helps.
I suffer from chronic urticaria and whenever I have a flare up I look exactly like you, give the meds a few days to start working. I know is painful and most of all you feel like wanting to claw your skin off because the itch is unbearable, if anyone would’ve told me having a no. Stop itch felt this bad I wouldn’t have believed it but gosh there are times where I just cried all day long because I couldn’t take it anymore. Cold compresses on the spots under your arms, back of the knees, around your thighs and bikini are and neck (those are the worst for me) and you can buy a topical spray in stores that is for poison ivy is a topical numbing formula that’s the only thing that lets me sleepy through the night when I have a bad flare up. Also Cera Ve itch relief is a life saver.
I actually had the same thing..prednisone didn't get it under control. Finally got into an allergist...and now take monthly shots of Xolair. Hives disappeared within a week!!!
@@helenbiley5848 I did try Xoliar for about 6months and it was a life saver but around month 7 I noticed I was having increased heart palpitations and panic attacks (which I’ve ever had before) I suspended Xolair to see if the symptoms stopped as well and they did. So sad that it didn’t help me out in the long term. I keep a low histamine diet and antihistamines daily to help keep a flare up away. So glad to hear it worked out for you, truly nobody knows how much this hurts and affects your daily life unless you go trough yourself.
Looks like you guys rolled it!😂 Went over my handle bars once face first into it. My face looked like the Phantom of the Opera without his mask. Hang in there and don’t scratch. The scabbing will heal but only if it doesn’t break the skin!
Lmfao that's exactly what happened to me when I was 15. It was so bad that I honestly believe it ramained in my system for 2 decades and now I get it every year. If I see sumac 100% within 24 hours I'll start showing signs. Zanfel cream helps if I dont want to go get a steroid it it's almost 50 bucks a tube.
Not poison ivy, but i had shingles a few months ago, so same painful rash!! Try oatmeal baths, calamine lotion, and soaking a towel in cold water, and just laying it all over you. Hope you guys feel better soon! X
Hydrocortisone cream! The best cream ever for any skin rashes, bites, eczema rash, poison oak, sumac and etc! Works better than calamine lotion! It helps sooth itching and actually helps get rid of whatver is going on in only a few days!
Oh I feel for you guys. My freshman year of high school. I was hospitalized and placed in intensive care because of poison ivy. I had it in my eyes. Covering 90%+ of my body. It got in my mouth, throat, and lungs. Poison Ivy is no joke. I pray for your speedy recovery. ❤️🩹
i had a bad reaction to a chemical i sprayed in my apartment, and had hives from my scalp until the soles of my feet, every square inch, and when one patch would fade bc of meds and new one would pop up and it lasted 5 days, so im empathize with this shit SO MUCH. i literally could cry for you.
Yes poison ivy can spread everywhere and it's horrible. Whenever I got it as a kid, I remember my mom had to saran wrap my arms while i slept so I wouldn't scratch it and spead it more. Edit: scratching apparently doesn't make it spread but can cause an infection
@sourgummiez why do you think that? I've had poison ivy and it turned into one giant inflamed rash all over my body. So if you say because it doesn't look like a poison ivy rash, she may be highly allergic like I am and it can do that.
A friend and I had it terribly as a child. My friend’s whole face swelled so bad she had slits for eyes. My whole body looked like yours. Head to toe in rash and blisters. Take care of yourself!
My 14 year old son got it on his hands and arms from climbing a tree when we were hiking. It ended up spreading to his private areas. Talk about miserable.
So sorry you have to deal with this. I get poison ivy so bad that I have to get steriod shots, and pills. Crazy. I envy the people who don’t get it at all!
Mine was so bad that I honestly thought the scarring wouldn’t go away on my face. I had it in my mouth it was awful. I’m sure you’ll get better but man does it suck
omg i hate getting poison ivy, what my parents always did when i was younger and would get in it all the time was wash everything i was wearing, wash items i slept with(ex: blanket, pillow, ect) and bathe me, ALOT, good luck tho poison ivy sucks😭
I understand your pain. I've gotten poison ivy all over my face and in my eyes. I had to go to the ER and get poked multiple times to find a vain to start an IV. I'm so sorry that you and your boyfriend got it. I love you guys!! I it goes away for the both of you!! ❤️
My older brother rubbed poison ivy leaves in my face when I was three. My eyes swelled shut for two weeks and the doctor was concerned for my vision. That was the first time I had it. I had it a couple of more times when I was growing up and it was always bad. I feel for you guys - I hope you are much better now!
I used to get this sooooooooo bad, Imagine a ooompa looompa with poisen ivy in 6th grade and it was on my face and lips too , but after I had my son, I haven't had a reaction like this anymore. Your body really does change after having kids.
That happened to me last week I touched a vine and made it spread.the best thing to do is just don’t itch it and take Benadryl wear things that prevent you from itching it if it helps
My mom’s friends son had it so bad that it permanently scarred him. It was like your where it was all over his body and it was SO BAD. Once it gets into your bloodstream it takes forever to go away.
i’m allergic to poison oak and would get it frequently as a child, with one of my worst bouts of it being a few years ago. the 2 things that helped a lot that are kinda random we’re acupuncture and cryotherapy!! i feel your pain i used to have to go on steroids every time i got it 😭😭 now i just hike less lol
I’ve had worse it spread to my face and then it scabbed over and then I couldn’t move my face for a while and when I mean a while I mean like four weeks and it was because I had poison oak and poison ivy and another type of plant that I’m allergic to but hope you get better soon ❤❤❤
Over 10 years ago I got a poison oak rash. Worst part was that it happened over Christmas. I was covering myself in calamine lotion. My legs were fully covered in the rash and I was scratching myself until I bled because it was so bad. I was literally sleeping in a sleeping bag on the floor of my room during the whole duration of the rash. I also learned that your reaction to poison oak gets worse each time you get it so I'm terrified of getting it again. And it's airborn too!
When I was a kid I got poison ivy so much because we had it in our backyard, but what helped me was a warm bath with baby oil. Idk the logistics behind but I worked. Also it wasn’t that bad when I got it. I think it’s worth a try. Feel better soon! ❤
I get it every summer and I get head to toe. I'm telling you, it is just unbearable. The worst thing is I don't wake up when I need to itch. I just itch in my sleep. I can't touch anything I can't go anywhere The worst place I've had is in between my fingers.😅❤
Yess! I’m super allergic and actually got it wind blown into my face! Warm oatmeal baths to help fry it out will also help with the itch and cortizone10! Good luck!! Hope u find relief soon
I remember when I had one..... It was all over my body and face.....lmao I cried so hard because I couldn't recognize my own face.....I wouldn't wish this on my enemy 🥲
OMG, it reminds me of my bad reaction to a certain antibiotic last year.. I had a skin rash ALL OVER MY BODY and not a spot left without red itchy spots.. It was THE WORST..In the end, only high doses of cortisone helped.. I hope your meds will also start working soon because the itching can drive you crazy.. Iam keeping my fingers crossed for you! :)
Don’t worry you will get better! I recommend covering your hands so you don’t scratch, or when you sleep have a long sleeve top on with long pants and socks and sleep without a duvet! If this isn’t good and you can’t sleep like that I recommend keeping your body cold.
When I was a little girl, I got into some poison ivy. I ended up in the hospital. The rash literally spread over 100% of my body. It crusted over my eyes, nose, and mouth. I'm lucky I didn't go blind.
Ok. I got poison ivy every single summer as a kid. The stuff grew all over our cottage. My dermatologist recommended washing with dawn dish soap. Its oils that come out of the rash that cause it to spread. So wash the oil off with dawn before applying anything. Also if you touch the rash, wash hands with dawn after or everywhere you touch it, it will spread on yourself. Use scent free dawn
I used to be severely allergic to poison ivy as a kid and luckily it’s not as bad now. It would spread everywhere, including my face, and one time it got so bad my eyes swelled almost shut. Whatever you do, DONT ITCH. If you need to, put ice on it or gently hold pressure on it. Itching will only lead to more itching.
I’ve had it worse, when I was 6 my face swelled to where you could barley see my eyes, I had it a couple other times like that too but I can’t remember how old I was
I've had a similar thing on my armpits ): The dermatologists in the hospital got my diagnostic wrong and made me use a cream that actually made it SO WORSE. Then a doctor guessed it was varicella. But then they thought it might be a fungus or mites from my baby kitten (found him in the yard). To this point.... it comes and goes and yet I haven't figured out WHAT it is.
Believe it or not....ive had it way way worse. But having it at all... SUCKS! I looked like rocky with my eye basically swollen shut and all...AWFUL! I hope yall get relief soon!
I had chickenpox so bad as a kid and horrible poison ivy as a teen… Good old fashion, oatmeal baths, really soothed the itch for me… but otherwise extremely miserable. Feel better❤
I have a condition that causes iritations and rashes like that. Every year it gets better but there are also very very bad times. I know it is not the same thing but what actually helped me was bathing in milk or cooked flower or a body wash with an oily consistency and are ment for kids. Products for kids often are better because they are ment for more fragile skin
Wash all the clothes and blankets and coats and pillows you could be reinfecting yourself every time you're retouching material that has it on it.
Your dog too

Dude. This must be so terrifying for a model, I hope you get better soon!
Even if she wasn’t a model it would be the same she would be scared!
@OMG-rv9jo Well, yes. Of course, it's extremely scary to have a rash expanding through your body, but the point is that she works with her appearance
I had the same thought, especially with the blisters!
This clown is not a model
Not the same when your job is on the line...

Oof that’s the worst feeling. I had it as a teen and my legs turned purple with blisters. Wash literally everything you own at this point and ice helps.
that’s looks so horrible😢 i hope you feel better soon!!
What caused your chronic urticaria? Currently suffering this from as well
I really recommend putting euracin on it, it can relieve it throughout the night, i use it for my exema, and it might help a bit.
Hydrocortisone cream works amazing as well! I actually find it works better! Maybe give it try and see how it helps you:)
i hope you feel better soon!
Yes I used to get it bad every year.aveno oatmeal baths help so much also
Looks like you guys rolled it!😂
Went over my handle bars once face first into it.
Omg get well soon you two😭
Not poison ivy, but i had shingles a few months ago, so same painful rash!!
❤️🩹
Sounds like you are extra sensitive to it and were around someone accidentally burning it 😢
You’ll be all right. I grew up with poison ivy I spent too many days playing in the creeks with the tadpoles.
i had a bad reaction to a chemical i sprayed in my apartment, and had hives from my scalp until the soles of my feet, every square inch, and when one patch would fade bc of meds and new one would pop up and it lasted 5 days, so im empathize with this shit SO MUCH. i literally could cry for you.
Yes poison ivy can spread everywhere and it's horrible. Whenever I got it as a kid, I remember my mom had to saran wrap my arms while i slept so I wouldn't scratch it and spead it more.
Edit: scratching apparently doesn't make it spread but can cause an infection
It is horrible but that isnt poison ivy all over her torso
@sourgummiez why do you think that? I've had poison ivy and it turned into one giant inflamed rash all over my body. So if you say because it doesn't look like a poison ivy rash, she may be highly allergic like I am and it can do that.
It doesn’t spread from scratching it, but you definitely shouldn’t scratch because you can get infection.
@stephanies34 thanks for telling me! Just something I heard back then and didn't question
@@sourgummiez yeah idk what she has 🤷♀️
I hope you and your boyfriend get better!
Omg that’s horrible, so sorry this happened, I’ve had poison sumac on my hand before. It’s painful
A friend and I had it terribly as a child. My friend’s whole face swelled so bad she had slits for eyes. My whole body looked like yours. Head to toe in rash and blisters. Take care of yourself!
The more you touch it the more it spreads
Use oatmeal baths / oatmeal soap ! I was a clumsy and unaware kiddo 😅 it helps
Thats so scary im so sorry for u
omg i hate getting poison ivy, what my parents always did when i was younger and would get in it all the time was wash everything i was wearing, wash items i slept with(ex: blanket, pillow, ect) and bathe me, ALOT, good luck tho poison ivy sucks😭
Oh god, I was like this when I had an allergic reaction to surgical adhesive, but they can’t remove that for obvious reasons. It was HORRID.
GIRLL
i am prayinggg for u
I understand your pain I got poison ivy swelled up like a balloon and was rushed to urgent care I feel your pain I definitely recommend oatmeal baths
I started itching by just watching you 😭
That happened to me last week I touched a vine and made it spread.the best thing to do is just don’t itch it and take Benadryl wear things that prevent you from itching it if it helps
I've had it so bad that it was down my throat and up my nose. Scratched the hell out of myself while I was sleeping and it spread everywhere. No fun!
My mom’s friends son had it so bad that it permanently scarred him. It was like your where it was all over his body and it was SO BAD. Once it gets into your bloodstream it takes forever to go away.
I have eczema and it HURTS so I feel your pain😅
i’m allergic to poison oak and would get it frequently as a child, with one of my worst bouts of it being a few years ago. the 2 things that helped a lot that are kinda random we’re acupuncture and cryotherapy!! i feel your pain i used to have to go on steroids every time i got it 😭😭 now i just hike less lol
I had the same thing! It's terrible.
Get better soon ❤❤
I had a reaction like this a couple years ago, Aloe Vera is amazing for it
Don’t worry you will get better! I recommend covering your hands so you don’t scratch, or when you sleep have a long sleeve top on with long pants and socks and sleep without a duvet! If this isn’t good and you can’t sleep like that I recommend keeping your body cold.
If you get cortizone then put a very generous amount all over your rashes it helps so much and feels soothing.🌸
It also helps dry the rash out
Oatmeal baths help tremendously! Aveeno makes a great one.
That’s pretty mild. I went to the e.r once and the doctors were convinced I got beat by a baseball bat.
I’ve had this happen before!! I had it for a month it’s terrible but I put ice on my blisters and my arms where it itched it helped
I have severe eczema so I know the amount of itch you're going through and watching this actually made me unbelievably itchy
My dad is majorly allergic to poison ivy, everytime he gets a rash it flows through his blood stream and he's covered in rash
When you touch it and touch yourself anywhere else you will spread it!
There’s a benedryl cream as well it is very helpful!
Make sure everything you touch gets cleaned like blanket and pillows cause that is hownit spreads more.
Believe it or not....ive had it way way worse. But having it at all... SUCKS! I looked like rocky with my eye basically swollen shut and all...AWFUL! I hope yall get relief soon!
My husband uses Technu. I think that's how it's spelled.
He gets poison ivy from his tree job. Technu works well
I had chickenpox so bad as a kid and horrible poison ivy as a teen… Good old fashion, oatmeal baths, really soothed the itch for me… but otherwise extremely miserable. Feel better❤
I got this this past summer but not full body like you guys! I still have it and it flares up every few weeks 😭
