You should try Choro, another brazilian genre that came before Bossa Nova. I recommend Ernesto Nazareth's Odeon in the version played by Fabio Lima. Check this out, guess you'll also enjoy.

O contrario tambem ocorre. Quando alguém que nao é fluente (ou até que nao sabe nada) em ingles e possui muito sotaque canta, a pronuncia melhora muito. Acho que isso ocorre por existir a referencia sonora da própria musica original.

who actually "created" the bossa was João Gilberto who passed away last year, Tom Jobim was his most famous composer with Vinicius de Moraes and the song "Chega de Saudade" is by João Gilberto in reality. it was very common to have several recordings of the same music by different artists .

Samba already existed in Bahia long before it went to Rio de Janeiro, and long before the recording of the song "Pelo Telefone". It came from an African dance called Masemba, and in the Reconcavo Baiano was called "umbigada" or "samba de roda". This same dance gave birth to the "Semba" rythm in Angola (that literally means "Umbigada" in the Kimbundo language). Masemba comes from immemorial times, long long before chorinho, and long before Portuguese colonization.
@@v_tito Errado. O Samba é filho do Choro. Pois, este é o primeiro gênero musical brasileiro, surgido na metade do século XIX. O Samba surgiu no século XX, quase 50 anos depois do Choro. Depois o Samba foi pai da Bossa Nova, quase 40 anos depois.
