  • Fake Eneloops spotted on eBay, AliExpress, or Lazada!
    I still receive messages that they still sell these in 2023.
    Want to know more about Eneloops:
    Check out our website:
    👇👇
    eneloop101.com
    I bought these off eBay, and they are definitely fake.
    The Eneloops batteries arrived in a standard yellow padded envelope. I can understand that the average joe has no idea these are fake, because they copied them relatively well.
    So hopefully you will learn from this video and know what to look out for.
    Unfortunately eBay didn't close the shop or let them stop selling these fakes.
    Fake Eneloops are still being sold, even in a Best Buy shop in the US... (there is just only 1 example of a store that sold fake Eneloops though) so not all Best Buy stores sell fake Eneloops. Power to you if you know how to distinguish them!
    These days, only Eneloop Pro rechargeable AA and AA batteries have been copied and sold on these market places. I haven't come across fake white Eneloops yet. If you ever see a fake Eneloop, please let me know!

    Hello, I just purchased several eneloop pro here in Brazil, and I measured on my multimeter, as 1.31 volts out of the box ( They are produced on 01/2018 ). I don´t have all the stuff you have to compare, so, how can I assure I have got the original ones ? Should I rechard before use them in order to get around 1.5 volts ? I have some old AA batteries which when charged on a Sony recharger, often display something around 1.4. Thank you.

    • @Eneloop101
      @Eneloop101  Před 5 lety

      No need to recharge. Please read more about charging here: eneloop101.com/charge/. Charging should generally be till around 1.5 Volts.. but that is usually under load. If you take them off the charge, and let them rest, they will drop below 1.5Volts

  • @Prussia_is_not_yet_lost.

    No I never leave them in direct sunlight. The problem is the outer shell of these Eneloops crack on several parts and the cracks get larger and larger. They crack arount the edges of the poles where it wraps around. However I live in an semi arid zone where it is hot and an flashlight with an NiMH battery in it can heat up in the air pretty quick. 100 degrees Fareheit are not uncommon here in the shadow.
    The wrap is definatelly metal with plastic outside as it seems. The metal wrap cracks and splits and one can peel it off over time. Little tiny splinters of metal one can pull off the cracks. These are every day use batteries. The one in box do this not. If the peel off gets worse it is normal to be able to stick an screwdriver between battery and wrapping where they join for about 5 mm. This is observed by other Eneloop users as well. I peel off the entire wrap and clean the glue and use the battery "nacked". The battery works as well like that just one has to make sure not to short it touching the rim and the + pole at the same time. The entire body is the - pole. Only the + knob is the positive. Don't bridge those parts. It works without the wrap as well in an Coast HX5 aluminum flashlight.
    It's not the glue what fails but rather the wrap itself splits and cracks just by ordinary use.

    Where did you get Eneloop Pro's that have over 900 MAH? Mine say right on the cell for the AAA that they are 900 MAH and that is what they test on my charger, so if those are fake they are pretty good if you ask me or you tester is off.

    • @Fuffcat
      @Fuffcat Před rokem

      charging by using 900mah is innacurate. it is telling you how much energy it TOOK to charge the battery, which in actuality has less capacity. some is lost through the process. The real way to test capacity is to have an advanced charger with a discharge-only feature and discharge the battery completely below 1A to see how much mah went through before it reached 1a. that is the true capacity.

      Hi Dani. Keep in mind that you have to look at lifecycle vs capacity. 20% less is not 'good' they will probably die after a couple of recharge cycles.. so better stop looking at 'capacity' alone! These are rechargeables.. not disposables :D

    • @Eneloop101
      @Eneloop101  Před 3 lety

      @@danizweifler6061 I understand what you mean. The thing is that out of the 4 batteries, the difference in capacity was visible. This means that you shouldn't be using them in series (or even parallel) with eachother because the will get deep discharged. That's mainly the problem with subpar batteries. When the deep discharge happens, the quality will deteriorate even faster!
