visited Pilsner Urquell ~15 yrs ago. will never forget that unfiltered/unpasteurized beer they served us in the caves. the taste, texture, even the smell, an epiphany. while it's not bottled, a certain amount goes into kegs for local businesses so you can get it in taverns in Prague.
Pilsen: You really ought to Czech this place out! :)
Tip your waiter folks... he's here all weekend :)
Try to schedule a trip in May and attend the Thank You America festival, which celebrates Patton's army liberating Plzen during WW2. Lots of booths, reenactments, entertainment, and of course, beer. There's also a cool (but small) Patton museum just off the main square
I did this as a day trip did both those tours enjoyed very much. with lunch in town took train from Prague.
I really want to go back to Prague, so I'll definitely have to add Plzeň to the list!
The local food in Czech Republic is really good as well as the beer. I loved my time visiting a few years ago. Hopefully in 2021 conditions will be improved enough to return to Europe.
Glad to hear there's something in Pilsen for nonbeer drinkers. Guess I'll target some other communities in CZ to visit.
Plzen has to be the best city in the Czech Republic...Been there a few times in the last five years (before Covid).. St Barts Sq and Bezrucova have some great bars and food outlets.. Love the place and the people are amazing.
So glad to see videos, many channels like this have gone dark the past few months. Thanks Wolters World!
We have kept putting them out twice a week. I know CZcams isn't putting out a lot of travel videos in their suggested videos since people just aren't traveling like they used to and probably won't for awhile, so the demand has completely dropped off.
Wolters World I’m glad your uploading. It’s calming to know we will eventually crawl out of our holes and travel again.
Number 6 go to the multi story puppet museum in the old town square. These aren't tourist puppets these are the real thing. Excellent museum. (And I didn't even go to the brewery.)
Plan on going there to visit and see the sights in about 20 mos. from now!
Going there next week! Been already to the brewery
lovely tips! Thanks man!
watching tourist videos is really funny since I lived there and never even took a tour of the brewery, walked past it almost every other week but never took the tour!
Lviv, Ukraine is also have brewery and famous for coffee of all things. I visited there 2 yars ago and loved it. :) You can swing there from Poland, it is not too far from there.
Lviv and ivano frankovsk have awesome beer.
@@robertinrinrin True. :)
The travel king! Love ya man!
Thank you for the video👍
Thanks for visiting Pilsen! Btw we have the highest cathedral in Czech Republic!
My big regret when visiting Prague is not going to Plzen. Thanks Mr. Wolter. You made me thirsty. This is definitely on my beer bucket list. Have you gone to the Radergast by the clock in Prague. Touristy? Yes. But, great beer, cole slaw and pepper steak. Cheers!
Ahoj Mark :-)) I come from Plzen and can't wait till we can travel again :-)) thanks for the video
Perhaps next time we're in the region, we'll check it out. Cheaper than Prague is a selling point.
I have always wanted to go there for the beer.
Its worth the day trip
Love Czech and the people were cool.
They made me laugh. Refreshing from some parts of Europe.
Theodore Smith the people are like everyone else
That's some old footage righ there :D But very nice.Thank you for the video, cheers from Plzeň :)
It’s nice smaller Central European towns are popping up a on videos lot recently. It makes me want to rediscover the region once this crap is over!
they do make the region much more of an experience
You left out the Plzen Synagogue. It is the second largest one in Europe (third in the world). By the way, the largest synagogue in Europe is in Budapest.
Any recommendations on where to go for cerny pivo?
Do you need to purchase tickets from Prague to Pilsen in advance, or can you do it on the day that you are going to travel?
hmmm.. That's not far from Kraslice, which is on my bucket list to see someday (just because that's where the tuba I've played for over 30 years was made)
hey, i knew that part :)
Your by my area now. How much for a meet up 😜?
Is there anywhere that 'Tesco' and their corporate tentacles have yet to spread ? Not very much liked here in the U.K. Mark.
So pleased to see you're still doing it notwithstanding you know what :-)
At last, a whiff of normality...
And if you are not a beer drinker, DO NOT turn down the free beer. I will drink it for you!
Super Jealous of this one. Dan
Are they letting Americans in yet? I miss Europe travels.
No, people from USA still won't get into European Union, there are just a few exceptions like
- you are EU citizen flying from USA to EU
- you are a diplomat
- you have a working or study visa
- you have family in EU
- you are a transit passenger
- you are a refugee for humanity reasons
- you are working in transportation sector and deliver goods
Kanister Thanks for Letting me know. Hopefully we can get there by 2021 fingers crossed.
