I have a question. How do males and females bond with each other? I don't see how men and women can bond (especially romantically) with each other. Men and women think very differently from each other. It seems like it's impossible for men and women to emotionally connect with each other.

Women can build incredible friendships and become very close to each other in a way men can't bond, and science shows that women can bond very well with each other. Well, the creators leave us clues to understand and they aren't even all that hidden.
Even if I don't Ship anyone here on Stranger Things I loved El and Mike relationship, El is one of my favorite characters, she's great and she deserve the best however there are a lot of clues and build up about their possible break up.
For example the show is slowly shifting from Mileven to Byler (if it will be Canon or not it's unknown but considering how things are going it's not impossible to at least have Will confessing his feelings to Mike) and a lot of Mileven shippers noticed that as well.
Their relationship is getting kinda unhealthy, not toxic but definitely unhealthy as they say.
Mike is getting colder and distant, he almost never approach her and many people point out how his monologue feels forced and not sincere because that's what the creators wanted it to be, El noticed that he wasn't being honest because he didn't say what he thought but he just used someone else words (Will) and told them to her but she didn't believed him, in fact she stopped talking to him after that.
Mike really seem to be in a case of internalized homophobia, I'm not saying he didn't loved her, he definitely did and that was really sweet but as they continued their love started to fade and it's not just some random idea, there are clues everywhere.
He smile more when with Will, Mike always look at him with literally hearts in his eyes, he seems happier to see him and sometimes seem to be in a gay panic.
With El he also start to get less affective and never start the physical contact, he never kiss (for example instead of kissing they did a parallel of Hopper and El as implying the family/platonic relationship which has been implied since season 1 where she was always mentioned as Mike cousin or she considered herself his sister) her if not two quick kiss on the cheeks, when she try to hug him or get closer he pull back and after they shift to Nancy and Jonathan with their sweet romantic exchange they go back to El who's showed to be alone as Mike leave without even looking at her or caring that she's clearly hurt by his coldness.
Opposite to that Mike literally cling almost desperately onto Will as if his life depends on it.
I loved Mileven as well even if I don't really have a favorite Ship but the downhill of their relationship it's easy to see just like the Byler is becoming blatantly obvious and it will be a strong focus point of Season 5 since it's confirmed to follow Will sexuality and his feelings for Mike along with the monsters stuff.
It doesn't make it Canon but they definitely want to shift the focus to a different couple by showing how it's clear that their relationship (El and Mike) is starting to "die" while Mike is done "pretending" and trying to fit what's "normal" about society (assuming he's actually Homo/Bisexual) because you can keep up the act but the more you hold it back the more stronger the thing you really want gets until you can't contain it anymore.
Because some people have created their own narrative based on the ship they like, so they actively look for clues that fit the story they wanna see. Mike's entire arc so far is heavely based on how afraid he is of losing her, again and again. Every season he has the same fear. Plus, he's a teenager and has explicitly said he's never felt like that before, he's bound to make mistakes out of fear and the writers will always create tension between their main ships, but I don't know how you can pay attention to their story and come up with the conclusion that Mike doesn't love her or wants somebody else...that's not even hinted at. In terms of romantic feelings, it's always been about El for him.
If it's too long just ignore it.

If we go by that logic it just doesn't make sense because the creators do NOT believe in love at first sight and remember that Mike knew El for only a week?
Well, that's the same for Max and there's no reasonable explanation for him hating how his friends are obsessing over her because it's definitely not a question of "you are replacing El" because he said:
I can't hate you if I don't know you.
Also his monologue was improvised by Finn actor so he made everything up, which means they wanted it to sound made up plus it parallel El biological father, the one who did horrible experiments on her.
Also let's be honest, ok he's afraid of losing her however you can't deny the internalized homophobia/biphobia because it's so obvious, I noticed that as well.
Mike literally doesn't know about Will being gay so why everytime they argue he have to state they are friends and nothing more or he (Mike) always have to point out that he (Will) doesn't like girls?
Realistically looking at that argument it doesn't fit anywhere because Will NEVER said anything about relationships or them being more than friends.
It's Mike that try to push away every thought about homosexuality.
When they argued Will was angry because they didn't wanted to play with him.
He didn't cared about a girlfriend, he wasn't jealous of El or obsessing over Mike, he just wanted to play with all of his friends, he wasn't doing favoritism, he just wanted to be with his friends again and Mike pulled out of nowhere the "it's not my fault you don't like girls" despite Will wasn't angry because of that and he never said anything about disliking girls.

Same goes when he learns El was being bullied.
When Will asked "what about us" he meant it as friends but Mike way of answering was weird.
He said two times "We are friends, we are friends" to make clear the difference between El and Will despite Will knows that already and there's no need to state the obvious, however in Mike head writing to Will as much as he write to El equals being partners so he can't write a lot to Will because that's only for your girlfriend according to Mike reasoning, making us understand that if he wrote a lot to Will it would look like (or he would feel like) he's writing to a partner because he thinks only partners can write each other that much so it's not that he doesn't want to write to Will, he feel like writing to Will a lot is the same as writing to a romantic partner.
If the internalized homophobia is actually a thing with Mike that's actually enough to make Byler a thing in one Season if they want to.
Byler and Mileven are pretty much equal right now, the last season can definitely have a chance to make Byler a thing just like Mileven will stay Canon.
Literally, if me, who Shipped Mileven for almost all the entirety of Stranger Things can notice this then it's not people making things up.
It's the people against the obvious clues that wants to ignore them because they are afraid their Ship won't he Canon anymore because for now I can see both Mileven and Byler on a middle ground and since now Mike properly apologized to Will and whatever bothered him disappeared if we assume it was internalized homophobia and they treat each other better/their moments start to get a little more than just friends moments then it's actually enough just one season to make Byler because they fixed whatever problem there was, if their interactions get more romantic in Season 5 and El notice that (and for this they break up because she knows Mike doesn't love her which would also fit the previous season of Mike not loving her plus the monologue being paralleled to her bio dad) it's not impossible they break up because Mike actually doesn't love her anymore because he's finally slowly getting past his internalized homophobia.

I see where you coming from with the whole internalized homophobia thing but I disagree that that is the case with Mike. He's pretty much still madly in love with El. He is having some internal struggle this season, but that struggle is not repressed gay feelings and internalized homophobia. However, I wouldn't get into that right now. I just want to point out a few things.
The creator never said they do not believe in love at first sight (nor do I know how it matters anyway). That was a reply to a question from fans by strangerwriters account on twitter which at that time was ran by personal assistants of the Duffers who were fired now (for good reason).
Second, Finn (Mike's actor) only improvised the "You're My Superhero" line. He did not make up the entire monologue. In an interview, Finn's performance for the monologue is referred to by the Duffers as "Finn portrays a more emotional Mike" and "the best performance Finn's ever given". If for you that monologue is supposed to be made up or not sincere or forced after knowing that information, well, I don't know what to say.
