How did I just now find you!!! This tutorial is amazzinggg. I am a residential interior designer switching from predominately revit to a commercial designer learning CAD and Sketchup. So as you can imagine, this video is amazing and super helpful.

You absolutely inspire me to try and work with the interior design, your tutorials are extremely helpful also! It really is the best tutorial for this programme I have seen by now. Not connected to this, but your other tutorials and chitchats are amazing, you make it all seem so easy. You are really inspiring. Thank you for the great work of yours😁😁

Assalaam alaikum Aseel, I've just discovered you last night, and firstly, 've seen 3 of your videos already, great content dear! Cant wait to see more. I'll probably binge tonight.
Secondly, I have a few Qs for you, but a bit about me so you can understand where I'm coming from. I have a degree in graphic design, but love fine art so I've been painting for many years now. Ive also loved interior design my whole life, but circumstances in life meant I could not pursue it as a career. Now, in my 40s, I really really want to be an interior designer. I've already designed 3 properties by myself, including designing furniture and soft furnishings, and having it made then flying it over on a 6 hour flight. I am very DIY focused as well and am currently designing my entire garden (though I have zero experience in landscape design). Anway, I'm way too old to go to interior design school, so I thought, if I teach myself a very good software for making floor plans, elevations, and rendering, I can then try to get a job in the industry even if it is just at apprentice level or even unpaid initially, so I can prove myself. My research shows me that SketchUp and Blender are a good place to begin, because of ease of use and being free (so I'm not making any costly investments to begin with). If you can help guide me, my questions to you are:
1/ is the free version of SketchUp any good or should I ignore it and focus solely on Blender? Because no way can I spend on the Pro version.
2/ Can you recommend software (easy and cheap/free) that can take a drawing (or a set of instructions) and quickly turn it into a floor plan? Or do the above two softwares do that easily? Right now I use Adobe Illustrator to draw out my floor plans but of course there's got to be a better way.
3/ Having read about my circumstances above, would you say my plan is a good one or do you think at my age getting my foot in the door is impossible? What does your experience in industry say?
4/ Have you done a video which outlines exactly what documents you need to prepare for a client (moodboard, floor plan, elevation, rendering/walk through....anything else?), and what documents need to be prepared for a contractor? Do the two parties keep their documents or you take them back at the end of the project? If you havent done any such video, please could you consider doing one?
5/ Who picks the contractor, you or the client? Do you have a video that covers such issues?
6/ Moodboards: I saw where you made one in Powerpoint, but shouldnt the client be making a moodboard to show you their likes and dislikes? Wouldnt that process be so much faster than you making one and having to revise it if the client isnt fully on board with every image?
7/ Moodboards: When a client tells you what they want (or think they want), isnt it faster to skip moodboards and go straight to a basic visual drawing/rendering? Is a moodboard absolutely necessary, esp if the client isnt making one?
8/ Budget: the client tells you how much they can spend, but what if their wants exceed their budget? What happens if your design ultimately goes over their budget? Who pays for the extra unforeseen costs? What if the client refuses to pay that extra cost?
So sorry, I know I've blabbered on and given you a headache now! Just trying to educate myself at warp speed and make up for so much lost time.
