- We knew this was going to be Daniel Craig's last James Bond movie, but we didn't know that the former 007 would be killed off in No Time To Die.
His death is pretty final. There's missiles falling on him, and having Craig's character return in any form would take away any emotional heft the ending has.

In the James Bond movie No Time To Die, agent 007 drives some beautiful classic vehicles. He uses a mini-gun-equipped Aston Martin DB5 in a chase. He cruises around Jamaica in a vintage Land Rover.
In No Time To Die, Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

Not really, it’s just the typical heroic sacrifice that the main characters often make in Action movies. It’s an especially popular cliche in Disaster films like Independence Day, Deep Impact and so on. Don’t get me wrong, I love it, a good character sacrificing themselves for the greater good almost always makes me emotional when it’s pulled off correctly. Plus, while one of those games came out the same year as the film, they finished filming No Time To Die in 2019, 2 years before.
No, the real problem is, this is James Bond, and I don’t think this decision to kill Craig’s incarnation of the character will age well at all.

I feel like when he says I love you too he's saying it to everyone who's been a fan of his bond, and his role in bond.
This moment hit me hard in the cinema, imo the best bond. Loved every single movie with Craig. He was like not the "childish" bond we know from other bond movies, his movies where more about a real life man with emotions and stuff and that's what i really liked about him.

Without a shadow of a doubt, this was and will be the best 007 of all. Yeah, I don't think he's dead, but I'm looking forward to the next film and I think we'll see him again.

Craig’s Bond is separate to the other actors, who all (sort of) inhabit the same timeline, albeit it’s very floaty and flexible. So Craig’s Bond is dead, but they’ll just restart with a new actor. I sincerely hope to god that killing Bond off in an actors last film doesn’t become a franchise staple.

It's funny to me how Resident Evil village and Red Dead Redemption 2 have the same exact ending with the main character dying exactly like this all in the same year. Exactly identical to Resident Evil Village with the explosion and sacrificial death with the daughter leaving and being saved or whatever.

I hated this emotional James bond
007 James Bond is just a codename used by British intelligence services: agents are disposable, replaceable and expendable.
After this I want to see other 00 agents brought more into light, especially the female agents. 007 James Bond could work with Janet Boon, Jane Born or any other agent. I'm not against female 00 agents in any way but 007 James Bond needs to remain a male unless it's handled properly. "We are reassigning the 007 designation to *insert name here* due to critical mission requirements" for instance.... I'd be okay with that.
