They say habitat destruction caused by pollution is what accounts for the decline of wild shrimp, but that's just not true. The main reason is the destruction of their habitats by people dragging nets. The main reason behind that is the high demand. We need to start more advanced programs for breeding & "seeding" the oceans with the seafood we want. We also farm them in environments that mimick their natural environment. People need to stop thinking wild is the only way to go. This video promotes wild only, which is what helps cause the problem.
Dipping Sauce: 1/2 cup ketchup 1/2 cup mayonnaise 1/4 cup prepared horseradish 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce 1 tsp lemon juice 1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
Wow, just made this today and it was as advertised!!! The dipping sauce and the crunchy texture the panko breading were a tour-de-force of flavor and texture and the tip about adding seasoning along the way is a keeper. Thank you for sharing, this is my new go-to for those Costco shrimp.🤩
ATK has a recipe for air fryer chicken parmesan that is similar to this - dipping the meat in a flavoured egg and flour batter, then in panko. You do have to toast the panko first though because it won't brown well in the air fryer. You can do that with some oil either in the microwave or in a pan on the stove.
Nah, makes it like every food blog out there. Algorithmic padding that you have to scrub past to get to the recipe. If you skip that, it saves you 2:45.
I love horseradish but honestly, why would anyone want to ruin the taste of a delicious shrimp? I'm going to have a problem when I visit Japan because they dip almost everything in either shoyu, mayo or other sauces. Why not drain the shrimp on a wire rack? It's more effective and doesn't cause the food to become soggy on one side.
Love SHRIMP but i buy Gulf coast wild shrimp and Never foreign farm-raised .Wild is better . Farm-raised has too many additives in the food that they receive So buy 🇺🇸 wild.
I do! If shrimp has been deveined but the shell and tail left intact, I can eat the tail and shell, but it has to be fried properly. I found a Japanese restaurant and a Korean restaurant where I live who leave the shell and tail on and it's so crunchy good. I wish I knew their secret.
@@jonnyfendi2003No matter what variety, where it’s from or which store, they either have absolutely no flavor or occasionally a strong iodine taste from gulf shrimp. The head-on shell-on shrimp that’s sold in most Asian markets in a box has so much flavor, even if I remove the head and shell for certain dishes.
While I personally enjoyed the history lesson, I can understand some might not. I would suggest adding chapters on the videos so you can jump right to the part you like or skip a non-cooking segment. Trump supporters especially don't like history and try to forget: the Civil War, Jan 6th and Biden winning.
I'm usually never one to point out such things (because I generally like to hold people to good faith), but I can't help wonder if people's irritation towards the history segements might (in part) be due to the fact that Toni is not a white man. I wonder if the reaction would be the same if it were Dan presenting, or someone like Christopher Kimball.
Vegetables, in general, are not good for you. Big Veggie has been lying to us, for years! For decades, they had everybody convinced that butter, eggs, bacon, red meat were all toxic poison... but why did all of our great grandparents live to be 90+ years old, eating all of that stuff, every day? Because it's actually VEGETABLES that are poisonous.
I agree that it seems that it's not healthy but you literally have to give up nearly everything to get rid of it. You can't eat any fried food outside what you make yourself and nearly all processed food is off limits. No chips or store-bought snacks. I've been doing keto about 3/4 of the time with some breaks so I haven't had hardly any processed or fried food. When I am going to fry things, I use ground up pork rinds as the breading and use coconut or avocado oil to pan fry.
Have you ever made an America's Test Kitchen recipe? I can't remember a time where I used an ATK recipe and it didn't taste like it came from a restaurant. If it's complex for you, you can make it for a special occasion
You can bread and fry pretty much everything. If it's not made out of shrimp, why did they call it "shrimp"? Just deep fried tofu or whatever that stuff is made out of
Refrigerating the breaded shrimp prior to frying is a gamechanger. Thank you for guaranteeing perfectly fried shrimp very time!

I dip my shrimp or fish in corn starch before going in the egg mix and panko. It produces a very nice crust and admirable texture.
Dipping Sauce:
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup prepared horseradish
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
Best fried shrimp we've ever had! Outstanding sauce too! Thanks
The 1st person that caught, killed and ate a lobster was really hungry. I commend their courage and appreciate their contribution to good food.
I have to make that recipe because I love fried anything especially shrimp, fyi I love eating the tails so when I make them I also coat the tails. 😋😋
That looks tasty. I have a father that loves shrimp, and I'll be in-between this recipe and the Cook's Country coconut shrimp recipe.
I'm drooling over here!!!!

Horseradish and cayenne pepper makes that sauce a double whammy! At least, for those of us with palates not seasoned for that stuff. Thank you kindly.
Love crispy fried shrimp!
throw some oysters in there while you're at it 😋
Thank you!
As someone from Indiana, I had no idea we have shrimp farms here
Omg, my mouth was watering at the taste test. Definitely trying these asap!
You are awesome as a host! You do the whole video like with the Poke!
Dr Eric Berg (on his CZcams channel) just did a video on the worst oils to deep fry with. What oil do you normally use?
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yum❤😋
Bridget thanks for making each episode so much fun
Looks delicious but do you have one that bake in the oven
I see Ashley, I click! It's that simple.
I missed Ashley =( Glad she is back =)
I like to cook and bake too
LOVE FROM PUNE INDIA🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳 🥰❤😎🙂😍😉🤝❤❤🥰
The destruction of shrimp fields was also caused by huge tropical storms and hurricanes.
Out of work tech person here love your great work have you considered... Wait wrong tab, sorry. SF/
Toni’s segments are always my favorite 😊
Honestly, I did not like it, at all. I wanted to see some cooking, not a history lecture.
I always put fried food on a wire rack to ensure the food is crispy. Paper towels can cause the food to steam which effects the crispyness.
Could you use an AirFryer...? Not sure...just thought I would ask..
I wondered that too. I may try a 1/2 batch in my air fryer soon.

Ms. Toni you are beautiful and awesome presenter. ❤
Don't forget Bubba Gump Shrimp!
STARTS at 2:08

I loved the educational intro

I use sunflower/avocado oil. Its high heat maintenance and healthy
I understand the health reasons why to use it.
Does it taste the same or better than using vegetable oil?

does anyone else eat the tail?
they are good for you

Why do you keep the tails on?
Easy to pick up and eat
Shrimp in American grocery stores never have any flavor.
Duh. U have to cook it and season it

In the library with Toni is an irritating supplement to cooking videos!
Frying scares me.
I don't know how to eat shrimp if it's not on skewer.
Much Much too spicy for moi...

Skip to 2:10 to miss the bullshit & get to the recipe
I dont know what your refering to 2:10. And how do u get receipe
You need to do a deeper dive into the topic of “vegetable oil”. it’s a HORRIBLE product for your health. There are healthier options.
Many more people are finally researching vegetable oil.
I was shocked to discover that olive oil had some CAR OIL
mixed into it! 😳
Yup , I use tallow, gee and occasionally olive oil

@@mddell58I'm not sure where you were buying your olive oil but I can assure you that most olive oil does not have Mobile One in it

Too many steps for us older folks!
I understand.
Way to paint everyone with the same brush, dude. I'm 66, and l LOVE cooking recipes like this for my family & friends. 💀
Buy a bag of frozen shrimp from Costco and simply pan fry them, with bottled sauce, on the side.
That's like one step.
Have you ever made an America's Test Kitchen recipe? I can't remember a time where I used an ATK recipe and it didn't taste like it came from a restaurant. If it's complex for you, you can make it for a special occasion
Please buy American wild caught shrimp!! American shrimping families depend on you..
I'd leave out the cayenne, and use white pepper. Also pass on the horseradish.
You're clearly insane. Maybe not insane, but you know what I mean.
Can you cook with VEGAN Shrimps? I can't eat REAL Shrimps because I'm ostraconophobic 🍤🤮 🍤😆
Sure, go ahead. Just substitute the tofu shrimp, or whatever you do.
