  • This remix was inspired by the official 12" mix of 'Hammer To Fall'.
Like the original, except heavier... much, much heavier.
While I always liked the song, I always thought the studio version sounded really dull and flat. The live versions were almost always far superior. I tried fattening the drums and let the bass and piano carry the song in certain places.

Thanks for the comment! You do realise this remix doesn’t in any way affect the existence of the original mix.

@@TheRegulator81 well yes obviously but you dulled down the best part of the song, and the writers creation

@@TheRegulator81 id also say you didn't make it heavier you made it closer to a pop song then rock with a focus on drums and piano

@@williamg209two my original intention was to beef up the overall sound of the original, which I thought was a bit thin and underproduced, especially the drum sound. I also wanted to give Freddie’s vocal, the bass and piano parts some extra prominence. I thought it was interesting that you mentioned Brian and his original intent behind this song. The song itself was inspired by the band’s US tour in 1974, where they supported Mott the Hoople. Mott actually had a song called All the Way From Memphis, which featured some pretty cool piano. Now I think the piano section in Now I’m Here was inspired by the piano in Memphis. However, in Now I’m Here, it’s completely obscured by the guitars, again due to weak production. So, by removing the guitar, you get to hear that piano part in its full glory.
