- In today's video we're giving the MX5's a go on iRacing. The MX5 has been the staple of my sim racing journey so far, so I'm really excited to jump in and see it handles, and whether I can be somewhat fast out of the blocks. The reality was however, a mistake at Turn 3 on the first lap saw me trundling around at the back of the pack.

The MX-5 on AC and on iRacing are actually very different cars. On iRacing it's a sequential transmission and on AC it's a manual H-Pattern transmission.
So probably that's the reason that blipping the throttle on downshifts is different between AC and iRacing.
Oh, I wasn’t aware of that, but it may make sense. I have for the time being put Auto-Blip on, but I’d rather not use it if possible, so I’ll keep trying to learn the iRacing version. Thanks for the info tho, very helpful
Oh. The iracing one as you've surely noticed is very... slidey? Also braking makes rear super loose... not an easy car on this sim...
Yeah, It seems you can throw this one around a lot more than on AC. Having loads of fun with it tho - Thanks For the comments :)
@@nock-racing i enjoyed watching :) I have no criticism, just feedback, and im no better than anyone because I started about 1 month ago, iracing, and it took an embarrassing amount of hours for me learn this particular sim and car combo. So what id suggest is
-to turn in with more lateral grip; extend the lift-part of the brake phase. The fronts will grip better _*as you turn in*_. You'll feel the FFB wheel reduce torque, or "resistance" to steering inwards.
If the car turns in well in the beginning of a brake-lift, but then starts sliding, and going off straight again, then extend the lift off even more. o_o :)
@@thedude4795 thanks for the tips. It’s a big learning curve, so any help and advice is more than welcome. I’m also playing around with my brake pedal settings at the moment. I have a G29 but a load cell mod on the brake, so it’s another big learning curve there
@@nock-racing awesome! load cells are huge!
