This race went exactly as I expected it to go . . .

We're back on LFM today with action from a split 1 MX5 Cup race at Lugna Seca. I really don't know what to say here other than this one went just as well as I expected it to go . . . . and that's badly. I didn't go well here in WSS last season, but I was more hopeful that with an open setup I may be able to go a little bit better. I WAS WRONG!

Laguna Seca is not an easy track for the MX-5. Because there are a lot of corners that you can do full throttle or with a very slight lift. But if you take them a little bit wide you are in the sand and lose a lot of time. And then there are those annoying sausage kerbs in almost every corner that want to destroy the car.
And sometimes a track just doesn't work. I think every simracer has a track where they don't perform like they do at other tracks.

This track sits up there with VIR for me. I don’t think this would be too bad for me if it wasn’t for the corkscrew. But I’m not giving up. I had a run there today, and was running P10 for the most part, until the corkscrew on the 3rd to last lap. There also 2 of the formula series I run on iRacing running there this week, so lots of time to practise and improve, and who knows, by the end of the week I may even find my grove with it 👍🏻
