I've been fortunate over the years to drive a lot of the V8 Scania's (143/144/164) and I must admit I'm a huge fan of the Scania. But about 4years ago I spent some time on a XF105 which had a straight pipe fitted. To be honest I wasn't expecting much but I remember pulling out the yard for the first time and hearing the exhaust tone and then that noise from the dump valve and thinking.....wow, I like it !!! The XF's a great truck to live with :)
and also exept the brand new gen which daf have been doing from the start that you get more hp with less fuel used, no need for a 500hp v8 when you could have a straight 6 510hp
Love Dafs, don't know why people disregard them so much, they shit over Renault, MAN and Iveco, Volvo and Scania are a different breed, Daf's are good, nice to see you driving a manual like a proper trucker
Lovely sound and a bit of nice scenery of countryside, Love the sound from the clutch as well. However on Daf the exhaust brake never sounds as nice as Volvo. Happy days
It's a shame the Paccar motors don't come from factory sounding like this, more people might want to drive them! I'm a big CAT guy over here in Canada, and use a Paccar MX-13 every once in a while. If it sounded like this, man, I don't know.
Zeviander it has to do with EU law some countrys are easy but germany or scandinavia countries you realy need watch out. In my country holland thy dont care to much so long people dont call police
its called a wastegate it dumps the pressure from the turbo to stop it spooling up too fast, or it could also be a variable geometry turbo which has fins built into the turbo which open up to realse pressure just like a wastegate
i think the sound that you are refferng to, the sort of "coooo" sound, is infact the turbo waste gate releasing excess pressure as the engine backs off. so basically in answer to your question... YES!

Mark C unlike scania you don't need 550+ plus bhp truck and a 510 bhp Daf can pull up to two hundred tonne on that
and also exept the brand new gen which daf have been doing from the start that you get more hp with less fuel used, no need for a 500hp v8 when you could have a straight 6 510hp
Gear box is slow, the paddle shift lever is Terrible design, just the shape & action on it is well, crap.
That moment, when you realize, that driver sits on your right. Nice DAF and sound. Proper tractor.

TheHasselBoff one always tras talk on youtube are kids. 90% are scania fan boys. Thy talk of trucks like kids talk like PS4 is beter No xbox is beter
This is what power sounds like, not a crappy exhaust mod on a Corsa.
XD
Beautiful sound of sheer power, Dutch style!
loved the DAF low revving engine sound......
Very nice gear changing really smooth 👌🏻
Great sound, much richer than scania v8's
