  • I did play another session in Texas after this session but I decided not to vlog it as the action was very slow and it just wouldn't have made a great video. I played for almost 5 hours and won a whole $49 lol but I did get in a session at a new casino which will be the next video so stay tuned for that.
    Another day from my recent trip over at Legends Poker Room in Texas.
    Thanks for watching!
    I'm a live Pot Limit Omaha (PLO) poker player who has been inspired by many live poker vloggers such as Andrew Neeme, Brad Owen and Rampage, and now want to bring the great game of Omaha poker to CZcams.
    I typically play $5/$5 Pot Limit Omaha poker at Lake Elsinore Casino in California but will soon be traveling to play poker at other poker casino rooms in the US.

    Think long term, as I try to, cause if we make that play 50 times a year that’s and quick 5k out of pocket. We need to fold even though price is good on a long shot. Keep it up homie

A new favorite of mine. I think your hand against the lady a dangler was wrong, you said she had nut spades and 5/7 which meant she had the straight and pot got pushed to you, Guessing a dangler was just wrong on that one. I like the first to act ssAAxx play. Opening there just draws in 4-5 players and you're in bad shape OOP. If you get lots of callers after a limp 3bet then so be it, but I think thats the proper play in that situation especially given the table dynamics you mentioned. Isolation is always the best route with aces, but even if an AAxx early limp gets limped through, you still have a well disguised hand, especially if you hit a set. I'm amazed at how many, "aces never win in omaha" comments I hear. Give em to me, I'll play them all day. I think I might have overlimped that ds QQxx hand. My thoughts are if it gets limped through you have a cheap look for the set, if it's raised you still have a ability to set mine for a big pot or take the small 1BB loss. I think either fold or limp is acceptable there but I may be off with my math. BTW if you think TX omaha is wild, sit in on a BIG O/congress game the next time you are down there. Talk about players willing to gamble with crap.

    • @DonkFishPoker
      @DonkFishPoker  Před 2 lety

      Thanks man, yeah I believe limping with AA utg or utg +1 is the correct play especially with a button straddler.
      I agree, you win the majority of your money with AA in this game you just have to know how to get into the best situation with them.
      I think the QQ93DS is close but I folded as there was a button straddler then raise to $25 right in front of me. I believe in a wild Texas game from EP it’s a fold but in a normal game in later position it’s a fine spot to call.
      I can imagine haha. I plan on playing some 5 card plo/Big O mix this Friday. I still prefer plo but it’s a fun game and will make some interesting content and most people haven’t seen much of either of those games on here.
      Thanks for the feedback and good luck at the tables.

    Got any general advice on hand selection for plo h/l? Not sure on what kind of hands to play seeing that a high broadway combo only has a chance at the high hand- am I just hoping for a high flop with that kind of hand? Other than having AA2x, not entirely sure what hands are optimal to play. Thanks!

    • @DonkFishPoker
      @DonkFishPoker  Před 2 lety +1

      Couple rules I’ve picked up on over the years are
      1. Don’t play many hands without an A
      2. 6-9 are the worst cards in the game as they can’t make Broadway and either can’t make a low or make a bad low
      3. You want to play hands that can win both the high and low so AA32 is the best hand in the game but some other good ones are AAK2 or AA42 even some high only hands are good depending on the board.
      I haven’t played it in a while though so I’m a bit rusty haha

    • @DonkFishPoker
      @DonkFishPoker  Před 2 lety +1

      More connected yes. You almost have a 25% chance of flopping a set with a double paired hand. 7766 isn’t a monster by any means and it’s better when played against fewer opponents as that would decrease the likelihood of one of opponents having our 2 flush draws dominated. I have a video coming out this week that will give some insight into preflop hand selection guidelines.
