I was in an airport somewhere. Don't know where, but there was this guy on the floor sitting on the floor against the glass near the terminal. This cat was Brian Setzer of the Stray Cats, cool as can be, alone, sitting on the floor. It impressed me so much and I have been a big and life long fan ever since.
Setzer is a modern eddie Cochran both rockabilly kings different generations
Amen to that...he even appeared as Eddie in the buddy holly story movie

Setzer displays such effortless virtuosity. His singing and playing are absolutely flawless.
Love it only the Stray Cats could cover this great Eddie Cochran classic so good as this

I got to see him with rockabilly riot at del mar race track . Front row he looked at me smuck and started his solo

stray cats is very good..but this one they fale,,it dont have the drive that eddie has!
Only because it was new at the time...You can never recreate that.
It is an awesome version. One can't compare it to Cochran's, but they introduced it to a huge number of people.
Elmokaila - Too true. Compare it to the original and the Stray Cats are just pretenders. The rhythm section here is *nothing* compared to Cochran's. Setzer's vocal and guitaring are alright but those ten-minute solo flourishes dull the impact of what should be a balls-out two-minute toe-tapper, in my expert opinion.
i really enjoy listening to setzer,and i picked up quite a few licks,and runs,but he does tend to overplay many songs.but all that being said,if i could play 1% of what he does,id be whistling dixie!!!
