Thanks for sharing your barn build. Appreciate your stall wall approach. It's one of the most expensive parts and needs to last. Looks like some insulation could go between the back and side walls for our being in a colder climate. Would you share why you went with a roll up door please? Undecided which direction to go on those. The fan system circulating the air is so much smarter than big box fans you just flip a switch for. Really enjoying learning from you. Thanks.
Glad you found the video informative.. On roll up doors, the door opening is too big for a hinged door so my only option was a roll up door or a sliding door. I've had a big sliding door before and after several years it became very hard to open plus i didn't want to loose all that wall space that a sliding door requires to slide. My roll up doors are easy to open, easy to maintain, and looks good.
Great video - can I ask how the ground below the mats was prepared before the mats were put down? Dirt? Crushed rock? Just want to know how to keep urine from puddling under the mats. Also, where do you purchase the mats? Is there a brand I should look for? What is this material called? Thanks - I hope to be building a similar barn in about a year up in NW Montana.
They work great. The manufacturer says to pour pine sol over the urine areas to break it down. I don't like the small of pine sol so I researched and found that citric cleaner has the same ph as pine sol so I use it instead and it works great.
And what is underneath the mat where all the urine is going? That’s never gonna get clean it’s gonna be trapped under there. And it’s just me, but I like the stars with the bars where the horses can see each other for company.
Incredible structure, you and your family are very talented with horses and building. God Bless your endeavors.
I can not find the video where you put up your stall fronts. Please reply with the link to that video. Thank you

My area of the country is a sandy clay that naturally let's liquids permeate so I just made sure the stall was filled in higher thst the outside.
How are the mats doing a year later?
Where did you buy the barn fans and thermometers?

Sand underneath and I pour citrus cleaner over the wet spots and that breaks down the urine.
