    They love giving each other nicknames, just like Asa they call her A-sa (ACEsa) and in here Rora called her A-hyeon and Pharita called here Ahyeonie

    Theyre just playing around with her name. " Ah-Hyeon" with slight emphasis on the H in the 2nd syllable is correct, but theyre messing with her name calling her an Ace. And Pharita said it like "Ahyeon-ie" which is like an affectionate way of saying it, you can do that for anyones name really, for example "Haram-ie".

    Ahyeon is pronounced like Ah hyun "Ah" sounds just like awe (as in AWEsome) For the "hyeon" part, it's the same "h" as in honey and the "yeon" part rhymes with fun. In the video, they're just playing with her name to call her an "ace", so instead of saying Ahyeon with the correct pronunciation, Rora is calling her Ace-hyeon and Chiquita called her Ahce-yeon. They're just trying to combine her name with "ace". Chiquita often does that with Asa too. Asa's name is really pronounced like Ah sah, but Chiquita often calls her Ace-sah.

      @@chrisdef15 no, you definitely pronounce the H with the yeon as hyun/hyon. So two syllables : “ah” and “hyeon”.

      I agree, for English speakers I think just go with choice37 how he says it. He is American but clearly knows her. I’m assuming he knows her name. She really does have a difficult name though for English speakers. .I feel confident I could say it right but explaining it in writing is not easy.
      Wait till you get to a Chinese speaking group.

    Pronunciation guide (because it’s always helpful )
    Ruka = roo-kah
    Haram/ Rami =ha-Rahm / rah -mee
    Ahyeon= ah -hyun
    Asa = Ah-Sah
    Pharita= pah- Rita
    Rora = roar -ah
    Chiquita= chick-eat-ah ( same as the banana brand)
    * note that every “A” in every name is an “ah” sound.

      Attach a "ie" to the end of the Korean name for the more endearing way of a close friend saying their Korean name.
      Example... Ha-Rahm-ie for Ha-Rahm, Ah-Yun-ie for Ah-Yun.
      Attach an "Ace" to the beginning of their name, like some of the members do, as a nickname that acknowledges they are an Ace.
      Example... Ace-sa for Ah-sah, Ace-Hyun for Ah-Yun.

    If you listen to it carefully when they say Ahyeon the first pronunciation was correct Ah•hyawn or a simpler phenotic is Eye•hyawn but just like how friends do they pronounce it in playful ways which is why the second one they said it more like Eh•yawn. Just like they call Asa (Ah•sah) ACE•sah because the rest of the members thinks that she has the ACE potential.
    The boot click reminded me more of KID N PLAY back in the day. And Asa has more of a look of like BRATS or MONSTER HIGH character.
    There is another reactor that talked about the maze and the significance to the monster theme. I greek mythology the labyrinth was built to house the minotaur and the house is a maze of monsters. So the BM in the maze is also seen on the doors when Ahyeon is entering the maze room. There is actually a lot of things in this song that a lot of people didn't pick up on.
    You should watch the Inkigayo where they have the Intro + SHEESH and see them perform live. Since it is Inkigayo, I am not sure if there will be some kind of block or strike but you do get to see how these girls perform live in front of an audience. They did so well and looked like veterans like their seniors BLACKPINK. They were very polished and didn't seem nervous.

    The Ty girls pronounce Ahyeon as Ah-Yeon while the Korean girls pronounce it with a hard A then pronounce the H like Ay-Hyeon. Odly with Asa's name the Ty Girls pronounce that with a hard A like Ay-Sa while the Korean girls (including their dance instructor Lee Jung) pronounce it with a soft A like Ah-Sa. The correct way should be how Ruka pronounces it which is like the Korean girls with a soft A like Ah-Sa.
    Best part of this is Rami smile at 1:54 = priceless.

    As for Ahyeon's name, you have it right. Rora is playing on Ahyeon's status as an "ace" performer- able to sing, rap, and dance so well- and calling her "Ace-yeon". It is like how they sometimes call Asa "Ace-sa" also. Ahyeonie is just a cute nickname. They also call Haram "Haramie" and how her stage name was derived from that nickname

    as you watched the last evaluation you seen they share rooms well one of the members on weverse i think said they each got there own bedroom in the dorms so they each got there own personal space now. I also have to say there is alot from kpop that the west could learn from first off the training system as we know is harsh but it really prepares these individuals for life in this industry we dont do enough of that with are pop singers. If we do have a boy or girl group we need to let them do solo projects aviously for artist creativity is everything and when you have group and solo albums it enhances the group we seen that with like blackpinks Lisa(lilifilms) come to mind that gained people attention and they would say who is this blackpink. It will be different for every artist but doing things like the Last evalution bring us into there daily life like a video blog it shows the person more and not just the flashy show that you see on stage

    I'm sure any of those pronunciations are acceptable. Phonetically, it is hard to break down unless you listen to someone speak Korean. This is how I pronounce it...Ahyeon (Ah-he-yone). That's the best I can come up with on how to explain it.

  • @nrmnnk4057
    @nrmnnk4057 Před 5 měsíci

    at 10:08 you said Ahyeon name correctly, minus the ending ee sound. (Ah- Yeon- ee ) is how you said it and how they call each other. it is an honorific ending showing friendship or status to each other.
    You on the other hand would just call her (Ah- Yeon) as this is her name and you have no relationship to her yet.
    But as for Asa - Lee Jung Lee called her (Ah-Sa) While Chiquita call her (Aye-Sa)
    So do not get hung up on trying to pronounce the names correctly, everyone will say it how they say it when they read it.
    Sure I would like for people to say my name correctly, but if someone mis-pronounces my name, I will still answer them . not sure why people get so critical on this issue. my thought
