Outstanding video and the best overview with examples that I've seen. Had I not already been sitting here awaiting my Amazon delivery of this unit today, you would have convinced me to order it. My mouth is watering and I'm thinking about all the possible ingredients in my house right now! You more than earned my subscription and I look forward to your cookbook.

Yogurt can be made on sous vide function. Set time and temp. Just made 1/2 gallon two days ago. 1/2 gallon milk warmed to 115°. Add Yogurt starter packet. Stir. Set to 105-112° for 8 hours. Cool for two hours. Fridge for 6 hours. Separate into containers. I add fruit, granola etc when I eat it but premix fruit for my kids and put into reuseable squeeze pouches for their convenience to grab some in the early morning.

I bought this air fryer Sept 2023 and started using it right away, with trepidation at first, having never owned one before czcams.com/users/postUgkxD4Qeo-HRLxMfom_PDinM_SBfes00qJsB . But I started trying the different settings and yes, I burned a few things at first until I got the hang of it, and have loved using it ever since I got it. For a single person, cooking smaller-scale meals is great while avoiding heating up a whole oven. The only downside to this air fryer is that the buttons are finicky since they're touch-based and the sensors are weird. I'd buy this thing again if I needed to, but at this point (if I don't jinx myself) I won't have to for a while to come.

Was I ever so glad to see this most outstanding, positive, and inspiring video!! I'm a Vietnam Combat Veteran (flew B-52 D over Vietnam) with severe PTSD with related Depression/Anxiety issues. As a result of these things, I have lost everything; my family and my children. All I can do now is to try to survive. I bought my Instant Pot Duo-Air Crisp a couple of months ago. So far, I had only used it for its pressure cooking function, the simplest and easiest. This video showed me now how to "fill in the blanks" which I had been wondering about and wishing for. Now, if I can't do anything else good for myself, I will be able to feed myself to my heart's contentment!! What a blessing! Thank you so much Jeffrey, you have no idea what a difference you have made in my life. Thank you!

Your video is soooooo informative and answered so many questions I had. Additionally it took the little bit of fear I had away. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Quick tip for people missing the yogurt button on this...you can use the dehydrate button for fermenting to achieve the same results and use the saute button to get to the right temp to "boil" the milk. Take the liner out to cool in ice bath before mixing in the starter, then dehydrate will be used as the "fermenting" time. I am just not sure how long you can set the dehydrating time...so you may have to set it twice if needing an 18-24 hour incubation

I love my Ninja Foodi! There are a couple of reasons I will not purchase this new Instant Pot. 1. I dont want to have to store another lid. I like that my Ninja Foodi has the crisping lid attached. 2. I dont like the small display at all on the new Instant Pot. 3. In another review, the New IP does not stay in place when working with it. It tends to slide around because the pot itself is light weight. The outside of the IP dents easily. And the air crisping feature doesn't work as well as the Ninja foodi.
Thank you for the thorough review. I do cook several of your recipes.

Instant Pot also came out with just a straight fryer as well. I saw it for $119 at Wal-Mart. However, love the idea of having it be able to do both. Best of both worlds. Getting the air fryer capability beats out the bells and whistles of the Evo. If you want to add the air fryer capability, for just $46 extra, you get two appliances in one with an 8 quart capacity. Seems like a no brainer if you're in the market. I still have the yogurt function on my 6 qt.

Thank you for demonstrating this! This is my first instant pot and when I saw the air frying addition, it only made sense to get this model for space saving. The instructions that came with it are pretty vague- probably assuming people have already had an instant pot before. I was wondering if I needed to put liquid in under the frying rack or not- so thanks for showing how to air fry! I’ve made a couple of things pressure cooking and wondered what the “L” meant at the end.
Very nice demonstration and I’ll definitely try the Mac & cheese you just demonstrated!

Once again Jeff, great work. I bought two instant pot whisper quiet models for a great price for mom & dad and one for my family as gifts for Christmas 2022. Disappointed to learn that IP doesn't offer the air fryer lid for my model. My mom is still a bit timid about hers and hasn't used it as I'm on 20 meals in mine, mostly your recipes ! I'm going to give her mine, return hers and get the duo crisp. And darn it, I'm going to show her in person how easy this device is in person and cook their favorite dish. Mom is 75, dad 77. Set in their ways but so grateful to have them. Again, thanks for the great demonstrations !

To those asking about the Mealthy lid (I still have no idea how to pronounce that name. Is it supposed to be a combination of "meal" and "healthy?" Does that mean I pronounce it meal-thee? mel-thee?). Anyway, months ago I asked for one to review and they said they didn't have anymore to send bloggers (okay...). While I was prepared to do an honest and fair review, I really had no need for it anyway, because I had a strong gut feeling Instant Pot would release their version. Now that Instant Pot has one, there is no way I'd consider a rather unknown brand - especially since The Duo Crisp's is top-notch, durably built, detachable and plugs directly into the device itself with no permanent lid attached to the device or a long chord to have to plug into the wall next to the pressure cooker itself. I also wouldn't be surprised if Instant Brands releases an air crisping lid superior to Mealthy's to place on existing Instant Pots. For me, it comes down to trust, and Instant Brands has it.

    • @r.severn7479
      @r.severn7479 Před 4 lety +2

The Mealthy uses a halogen bulb for heat. I think I'd rather have a heating coil like the IP has.

I actually have an add to it that taste pretty good after you put the crust on top add bacon crumpled up or chop cooked ham into tiny squares sprinkle on top of crust then add a handful of shredded cheese on it before you crisp it then air fry it like normal and you got a creamy gooey crispy buttery bacon flavored mac and cheese

Your dog's front and hind legs are not intended as suspension devices, if You didn’t know you should always put your hands underneath your dog when you pick it up

mariapanama2 If you want the air fryer feature, get the Duo Crisp. The Duo Evo Plus has lots of great features, but you only have the pressure cooker features, the pot with the handles, sous vide, yogurt and bake. I wound up not getting the Duo Crisp. I got a 6 quart Viva (similar to a Duo Nova) and got the Air Fryer lid. The basket is not as big as the Duo Crisp, but it has a yogurt button, sous vide button and sterilize button. A great alternative if you want to air fry is to get the Duo Evo Plus and an Instant Vortex air fryer or one of your choice. .Let me know if you have further questions.

You should use the Steam option or the lower pressure cooking option for things like sea foods, Fish, Shrimp, Shellfish and the like. Sea foods tend to be more delicate in texture and doesn't need a lot of temperature, time or pressure to cook it. It's very easy to over cook sea foods and the results of that is not very palatable at all, taste or texture-wise.

Hi Jeffrey, My son Graham, who has Autism, and I have been watching and celebrating your great recipes for the IP, but mostly you fun sense humor and your great ways you get right to the point, with a snap of fingers, to throw in ingredients.! Graham wants to start a new cooking video as well and we love Instant Pot as well as Ninja Foodi. I recently purchased an IP Crisp and am truly feeling regret and desire to return it to receive the IP Duo EVO Plus. I was excited to try the IP Duo Crisp out to see how Yogurt turned out......until I found out from you that it has no Yogurt button!! I think I will return IP Duo Crisp for an IP Duo Evo Plus. Thanks for your review and for assisting me to know what is best for our family! I am looking forward to making videos with Graham to help especially the Autism population of adults to find more nutritional ways to cook without an oven, which could harm them, and smaller-scale cooking areas to be introduced. Thanks again and we love watching and learning from your videos.!

I have had the Instant Pot Ultra for several years and love it. But I wanted the air crisp function and dont have much room in my kitchen---soooo--my Instant Pot Pro Crisp arrived yesterday! After doing the water test just to test it--I had Air Fried Steak for dinner! Amazing! I have watched many of your videos and they have really helped me understand the machine and to adapt my own recipes. Love how detailed and helpful your videos are. Thank you Pressure Luck!

Thank you for such an easy to follow video. I purchased my instant pot duo crisp on Amazon prime day and I nearly returned it as there wasn't sufficient information in the small pamphlet provided. Only multiple warnings of hazards that scared me to even try it. Now after your briy video im off to make Mac and cheese. Thank you again!!!

Love your presentations, even though I'm Nijna Foodi Fan. You've answered most my questions here, and it's also interesting to see one of your 'selling' points about the separate lid for Air Crisping certainly could be looked at differently depending on someone's arm strength or where someone actually uses the device. I've now purchased 3 of your instant pot cookbooks for myself and two friends. So how long before you publish a new one to take advantage of the air crisp lid, for more excellent recipes like the Mac & Cheese you shared? The current recipe book is one of my favorites as you truly explain & have photos of the entire process. Thanks again for all that you Share.

This made my day as I was considering getting both an 8 qt instant pot and an air fryer for my new place. I agree the screen could be a bit bigger, but I like the screen contrast. I was rather overwhelmed at the multitude of buttons on the past ones, so I don't mind there are fewer buttons. This is an appliance I will use.

THANK YOU!! My neighbor was gracious enough to give me hers. It's basically brand new, but missing a few things, like instructions. I wanted to make a roast, so, naturally, I tried to use the "Roast" button, right? The only cue that something was wrong was "Lid." TWO HOURS later, I'm suffering from self-induced baldness, and my son has decided Mother's Day is officially OVER! I finally just tried a different button {yes, I know, I'm a bit slow in the head, okay?}. Fifty billion videos later {Plus a dozen warnings from my son that I was gonna blow up the house, if I didn't calm down and figure out how to use it properly. Aaaarrgghh! I know! I"m not stupid! Well, sort of, but not stupid enough to be careless with a pressure cooker}, I, finally, landed on your wonderful advice. I'm going to bed. It's crackers and cheese for dinner at 1 am, or nothing, and roast for breakfast. Crisis averted, thank you so much for preventing me from strangling my son on Mother's Day. I doubt any judge would have forgiven me.

The screen on my original Duo 6 qt isn't very large. Works for me.
I have only ever used the stew buttin on mine because my first electric pressure cooker (before there were Instant Pots) didn't have lots of buttins & all tbe directions said to set it at certain lbs pzi usually on high.
I got my Duo 6 qt when they were fairky new & very pricey & and old one died while cooking stew. (We never did get it open!).
You're instructions always tell us to use manual pressure settings & I love that.
Lots of my friends who have IP machines get confused when the oresey buttons don't match what an IP recipue cookbook says.
I may neex to get thid new one. I can give my old one to a friend.

the only thing about using the Mealthy is that you need to have a separate plug for that, which is no big deal "most times" but can be inconvenient in other times. I like this doesn't need a separate outlet. Also you can achieve the yogurt setting using the "dehydrate" button so that's no big deal not having it on the main console

Great video and review (very detailed)...Thank you, Jeff! I bought the Ninja Foodi about a year or so ago....I don't regret it, but I do not like the air crisp lid that can't be removed....I knew something would come along that would remedy that...However, I do love the Foodi non-stick liner....it is amazing... I originally started with the Instant Pot 6qt about 3 or so years ago and still use it a lot....I also like the Foodi and use it for recipes that need to be crisped or browned...without having to take it out of the pot....I like this new IP, but I can't justify buying it now, since I have the Foodi...Thanks again for the video and your channel..
