- After an absence of over two years, Annie the Alpine is back on the road better than ever. We go through the engine rebuild, have a walkaround & take Annie on a drive to explore what makes these rare-because-nobody-cares cars so special on modern roads.
Apologies for the shaky camera work in this one guys, I really need a new mount lol - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Welcome back Annie - you have been missed! 🥰🥰
Omg I’ve been waiting for you Grey and especially an update on Annie. She is beautiful. My first car was a 1977 Chrysler Alpine call Hugo. Brilliant car but I spent a lot of time filling rust holes. Unfortunately he died when his steering rack went and he hit a telephone pole. My only crash😫😜
Wonderful. My first motor was a Solara, I absolutely loved it. So comfy
I appreciate how much you know about cars, since I'm a complete novice on these things. But I do, at least, know what types of cars my family has:
2006 Ford Focus hatchback
2009 Ford Mondeo station-wagon
So pleased to see you are back with Annie. Really enjoyed the video and I'm glad Judith is staying.
The old girl could now do with some tlc on the bodywork. There are so few of these cars left now.
I do have a soft spot for the Minx as my father had a Solara Minx that I learned to drive with. An extremely underrated car in its day.
definitely. I plan to have another go with the paintwork when I can get the time to do it
\o/ yay Floyd the Grey Sergalian is back😁
Lovely to see an update on Annie
One of my all-time favourite car,s.. Had several of them. My favourite car was a 1979 GLS.. Put up over 200,000 trouble free. Regret to this day selling it. Cheers.
Love it!!!!!!!!
Great to see you both back. 😁
This is the Poissy engine "type 315" from Simca! I believe this is the 1.6L variant. Smaller versions of these engines were used in Simca 1300/1100.
Indeed it is
Has it really been that long !!!
Good times!
Are you going to reinstate the side rubbing strips, as per the Minx's original specification, assuming that you can find a set? I think that they look very good.
I have thought about reinstating them if I could get a replacement set but I'm unsure about the sensibilities of that in the long term as their condition would deteriorate if I use the car. If I could get a reasonable condition set as opposed to a mint condition set then I may be more game
@@GreyTheFloydianSergal Perhaps someone in France has a set? After all, the Alpine/1510 (and Solara) were very popular there and still have quite a strong following.
She looks good though Annie Alpine and if that was my Car I’d Stick the Talbot Steering Wheel on with the Talbot Badge on it. Interesting BE1 5 Speed Gearbox from Peugeot Cars
I ❤ That Talbot Alpine As Well I Wanna Buy that Car in Beige. All the Rootes / Simca / Chrysler / Talbot / Hillman / Singer Cars I wanna own Fully in my Name
I had a Alpine hate to say it but it was awful to drive although it was fairly reliable to be fair. I traded it in for a Mk 5 Cortina 2.3 Ghia automatic then I found true love loads better.
