    Who ever came up with this video package has no idea, how can you do 5mins of Sam Cane and not have any of his hits or tackles. Sam Cane was not known for his attack, he was known for his brutal defence. Wake up NZ rugby, hire someone who knows what theyre doing ffs

    imo no other captain did what sam did, brought his team from the depths of despair to a rwc final. he never kept pushing for the win, toeing the line in every sense. did that end up with some cards at crucial moments? yeah. but i really think that just shows how far he was willing to go to for the black jersey. throughout all the injuries, he just kept coming back clearly more dedicated and more ruled with the love of the game every time. being captain through covid and as we navigated our way out of lockdowns is something i don’t think i would wish on anyone. he was captain at a time when the rest of the world finally began to catch up to the all blacks, something we had seen coming since richie was cap, and he handled it all. gonna miss sam

    What can one say about Cane? he was a limited player,not particularly good at b/d work,not much chop as a runner.But absolutely top notch defensively.He also wasn't helped playing under one of the worst coaches in AB history.
    He was gutsy,and extremely tough - but,unfortunately not the best in his position in NZ.Having said that,best of luck in your retirement.

  • @stealthpakfa
    @stealthpakfa Před 18 dny +3

    Lost a lot of respect for Sam Cane after he and his clique of senior players grossly overstepped their boundaries and bullied NZR to keeping Foster as coach. It was brazen interference and set a dangerous precedent where the captain and senior players dictate who the All Blacks coach should be.
    Definitely think Razor told him he won’t have much of a future under his coaching. He blocked Razor becoming All Blacks coach. So there must be trust issues between them.
    The comment he made that All Blacks fans don’t understand rugby shows his poor judgement. You don’t attack the fans, ever. All Blacks captain should unite us, but he was very divisive as a player and captain.

    • @taakeyourtime

This is why World rugby does not have a video of the only try to ever be awarded against SA in a final. NZ lost so bad they changed the rules out of pure pain and suffering. NZ will experience the loss of being the 2nd team for at least 8 years before they can edge out the WC score 5-4.
