I always appreciate the perspective of a running shop guy. It seems like some of the bigger, heavier shoes might work better for more thickly built runners. I'm a skinny, weak little guy so I can feel the weight of a 9 oz shoe vs an 8 oz shoe at the end of a long run.
It also seems strange that some of those little weaknesses got past the development stage. It makes me think of the tongue on the Altra Torin 5.

Honestly Steve, my Rocket X2 does the same propulsion and energy return, too... as if its pushing me more and more and more miles. I tried my newly purchased Cielo X1 for about 2 weeks and I felt it a bit heavier. I'd rather engage with my previous sweetheart, this RcktX2

Good review, only area I'd question is the comment about getting them on. I find the Rocket harder to get on, the Cielo has a larger volume for the length, and the Rocket seems to have a very sticky gusset. Mostly I'm an ironman (and cyclist) rather than a pure runner. Last year I ran Barcelona in the Rocket X2, I'll definitely be using the Cielo this year mostly because it offers more support/stability on the slightly uneven ground. For a flat tarmac road I might use the Rocket.
