I love Tom Cavanagh as Reverse-Flash but I've been thinking we need to see the "original" version of Matt Letscher's Reverse-Flash again after this long. This can cause so many new problems if it's a younger version or one who now exits as the current version since the Well's version is now a powerless, non erased time-remnant.
NOT spoilers -- s7 Legends Thawne is NOT "origin al" he just stopped wearing the Wells disguise AFTER being able to return to the Hypertime Vortex, unlike s1 Flash Thawne
AND that is where he basically still is -- the so called "Fixed Point" outside of normal Time.

@@johnnorwood2239 I think he never got the wells face. I think that after thawne kills barrys mom for the second time he made an time remnant. One brought barry home safely (and after that got hunted by black flash) and the other one became Harrison wells. The wells eobart probably knew he got erased from existence and found a way to survive that (that is why he did not lose the wells face and appeared in future seasons). The wells eobart now lost his powers and is captured. The other eobart got captured by black flash and now is making sure no one changes the fix point. I am curios if that eobart will betray sara and become a villain in the next flash season or if he will stay there.
Maybe it's just one of the episodes where's there's gonna be some time travelers there.
Can't wait to see Matt Letcher again!
Apparently it's like a episode when they go to a certain point of time where time travelers hang out and they meet Thawne there and he helps them according to the synopsis

i think he will appear in flash again, i mean we had WellsEobard tell flash what happened in his origin story so i do think we will get to see that one day with Matt Letscher
He’s going to pop up toward the end of the season as a cliff hanger. Matt Letscher was double booked for both Legends and the Flash He’s doing small appearances on other shows. The most recent show that I have seen him on was a police drama called the Rookie. Brandon Routh was also short lived in that show after leaving Legends.
Hopefully, in season 9 Matt Letscher is a more recurring actor.

@X-777 that depends on which direction they want to take the show. Tom’s Eobard is old multiverse Reverse Flash. Matt’s Eobard will be this timelines Reverse Flash. The writers just need to do an origin story for both versions of Eobard. Pre Crisis Eobard is more of a sociopath. Post Crisis Eobard is just a fan boy who’s playing the role of Flash’s greatest adversary.
A lot of people are getting confused with the crisis timeline changes. That’s because the writers have done a poor job at explaining the differences between pre and post crisis events. We know that Supergirl and Flash had more than one crossover. Zoom comes out of pocket dimension rather than Earth 2. At one point there was post crisis timeline Eobard Thawne. Eobard is a key player now in timeline for Barry to become the Flash in 2013/14.
Why do they CONSTANTLY Duck calling Matt? He was sooo good especially in the Flashpoint episode.

@@ShinyGolduck5 i don't think so. How Tom is portraying the role is much more believable for me and he has a wider range that he can portray, while Matt sometimes appears to me like a Blond Guy in a Reverse Flash costume.

I wonder if we can get a reverse flash vs reverse flash matchup. Basically both Thawnes fighting to be the one left alive after erasing the other one. You can have Barry having to chose the best bad choice. You can have the Matt version be the one who killed his mother but could have rules of not messing with the timeline at will. The Tom version just wants to kill Barry regardless of the ramifications.
s7 Legends Thawne has no interest in going after Barry or Team Flash at this point. He is just trying to get back to his source timeline same as was MOST of the other time copies of Thawne. Same as the now dead s2 Legends Thawne said "I do NOT trust myself" myself being other time copies of himself as he knows that his other selves will turn on him if he were to seek their assistance. Hence the reason he is there in the so called "Fixed Point" outside regular time
Armageddon Thawne has an agenda to wipe out all the HEROIC Barrys he can find hoping it will destroy that time copy of Barry who ruined his original moment of glory as stated in his origin episode.

He must have had a reason to travel that far in the future and than something happens and he has to stop what he’s doing and help those people that thawne tried to save. Thawne said in season 1 he was born in 2150. So depending on how old thawne is when he gets his speed that would be almost year 2200.

All we know is that at some point another time copy of HEROIC Barry is bungling through the timelines and ends up in Armageddon Thawne timeline and stops this version of Thawne from engaging in his master plan as that plan according to Armageddon Thawne MIGHT "have people at risk".
While preventing the danger to the masses it drives THIS time copy of Thawne over the edge to where he then uses his mechancial time travel ability to find out whoFlash is inder that mask and how Barry got his powers and replace him as the champion of the Speed Force which is VERY different from most of the other time copies of Thawne and how they got their Speed Force powers for example with s1 and s2 Flash Thawnes

About damn time! I mean, not to take anything away from Tom Cavanagh’s performance as Eobard Thawne, because he’s been playing Thawne since Season 1, even though he was initially introduced to us as Dr. Harrison Wells, he was really Thawne in disguise during the first season, and did so very well, up until we saw the episode where his true face of Thawne is revealed, as portrayed by Matt Letscher. It’s just……. Ever since the return of the real Dr. Harrison Wells as Timeless Wells, it’s kinda pointless to keep using the facade of Wells’ face all the time. That was the whole point though, right? The team should have known and recognize him as Wells, not as Thawne (at least you would think they would know), so it made no sense as to why it was Wells’ face as Thawne. And better yet, it would have made better sense to be given the revelation that it has been the real Eobard Thawne with his true image, his true face to make his own version of his Flashpoint, and therefore, I would have been totally convinced and bought into the romance between Letscher’s Thawne and Iris West, as portrayed by Candice Patton. Like I mentioned earlier, I don’t think my saying this takes anything away from Tom Cavanagh’s performance as Eobard Thawne because he has done a great job with that character. But seeing their characters in a romantic relationship was, quite frankly, awkward, and it probably has to do with the fact that we have seen these two characters playing roles that’s been about always working together within the boundaries as a team; the romantic partnership, however, was way beyond that boundary, and as stated earlier, it was quite awkward. I’m just glad that their romance didn’t go past just hugging each other, and no kisses were exchanged. With Letscher and Patton, however, we really haven’t seen them interact with each other during the show’s run. And with the “Armageddon” episodes, it would have been strategically and perfectly acceptable to actually see them two together as a romantic couple AND to see the REAL and the SAME Eobard Thawne that not only killed Barry Allen’s mother, but now he’s taking away Allen’s wife. And as stated earlier the romance between Letscher’s Thawne and Patton’s West would have been quite acceptable and believable too. And it would have been a very great way to reintroduce the audience back to Matt Letscher’s Eobard Thawne.

F*CK YEAH! I LOVE MATT LETSCHER. Don’t get me wrong Tom Cavanaugh is great but at playing the smart wells while Matt is ruthless, terrifying and smart.
I'm glad Matt is back I love both versions of reverse flash so its cool that we can get this version represented. Also if the negative speed force is immune to timeline changes why would removing Thawnes powers make him not erase. Or is it that when Thawne is in the negative speed force he would be fine but as soon as he comes out of the speed force he gets erased. That's what makes sence to me.
Armageddon Thawne was being erased because he erased his source timeline when he killed the evil Barry who became the Revese Flash of the 2033B timeline.as a child. When Armageddon Thawne transferred over to the so called "main" timeline he still was connected to the erased 2033B timeline by his ORIGINAL positive Speed Force connection. When Barry cut that connection it saved Armageddon Thawne from being erased though ended his ORIGINAL positive speed force connection and no way is "Nora" giving him a new posiitive Speed Force connection.
Could Armageddon Thawne gain a NEGATIVE Speed Force connection? Mayeb have to wait and find out
@@johnnorwood2239 That is a fair point. Though the way they explained is the timestone erases the reverse flash point and restores the og season 7 timeline. There for Thawne would have his negative speed force. If Thawne didn't have his nsf and had the postive sf then barry should still have the negative sf. You could argue Barry has the psf because of Iris but he still would have the negative speed force on top of the psf.
Honestly its not a big deal they gave a good enough explanation and they might elaborate later.
youre theory is probably correct; Nora West allen had the negative speeforce inside her, yet got erased. She would have been immune only if she was in the negative speedforce.

He was great on legends and the 5 episodes of the flash he appeared in now I find it disappointing that the flash show runners and writers not asking him back since season 3 but it’s great that legends has continued to keep in mind it’s great for legends and it’s disappointing on the flash’s part but hopefully that will change following these episodes on legends
I want a full season of Matt vs Grant. I feel like those two, and their characters, haven’t faced off a lot. They had those emotional scenes in Flashpoint, the little “what will you do without me” at the end of season 1, and that episode in season 2, but besides that? Nothing. His version should be the one to end the show because we’re getting close to the moment he comes back to find out his destiny. I want a lot of OG RF soon.

I’m actually watching this video *after* these two episodes have already aired. However, I’m actually glad things happened in this order because it allowed me to be genuinely shocked when Thawne showed up in Legends with no prior knowledge of his appearance.
EPIC, I am literally watching the newest/final season of Narcos and every time he is on screen I'm like damnit can he PLEASE come back for at least one more season with the real one?! Hopefully he can come back to the Flash and not just a Legends appearance.

Thank God OG Thawne is back. Matt was a better Eobard to me because every time I saw and heard Wellsabard I kept seeing and hearing Wells.
I been wondering this whole time why Matt Letcher wasn't the reverse flash in armageddon ? the only reason thawne stole harryson wells face's is because he needed to go undercover and re built the particle accelerator , but he didn't really need to do any of that in a reallity where he killed barry and became the flash.
Armageddon Thawne is completely seperate from most of the other time copies of Thawne that have been shown before. As stated in Amageddon Thawne' origin he did NOT get speed force powers from the Speed Force until AFTER he replaced his timeline version of Barry in the nuclear accelerator explosion. MOST of the other time copies of Thawne got their original POSITIVE Speed Force powers BEFORE Armageddon Thawne did
Armagedoon Thawne started wearing Wells face AFTER his Wells was killed in the explosion as tribute to dead Wells NOT before as sneaky disguise as most of the other time copies have done.

Same one in the earth x crossover, same one in Nash’s body and same one from last season that helped Barry stop Godspeed. That’s what makes thawne so strong is because he can remember all the stuff he’s done. He knows how to time travel. So even if he changes things he still remembers how it was before he changed them. Just like our Barry is still the same Barry that was in flashpoint.
Well they never explained how he still seems to have wells face to begin with. Thawnes soul got pushed out of nash wells body in season 6. Than the speed force brought his soul back to hell Barry in season 7 but they never explained how she was able to conjure up a wells body to put thawnes soul in

finally but I really want a whole season of this version of the reverse flash we never really got a full season with him as the villain and I think his portrayal is miles ahead of what Tom has done.

Crisis on Earth-X Thawne answered how -- he is NOT the s2 Thawne as he tells Harry this is his first meeting with Harry whereas s2 Thawne met him before and not s1 Thawne who was killed nor s2 Legends who never put the Wells disguise back on before being killed by the Black Flash corpse

By CGI models already had Tom's version appear alongside Matt's versions during the s2 fianle when s2 Legends Thawne called forth all the other time copies of himself to deal with the Legends

All depends what thawne this is I guess. The thawne from season 2 of the flash can’t really show up on flash until the final season. Wells thawne said that Barry steals his limelight almost 200 years in the future. So eventually Barry has to go travel to the future and do that because I don’t think the reverse flash/flash story can be altered. I remember thawne saying in season 1 that he was born in 2150.

Armageddon Thawne is from a completely seperate timeline from all the other Thawne time copies we have seen thus far as in his timeline he stated he did NOT get speed powers UNTIL AFTER he replaced his timeline version of Barry in the nuclear accelerator explosion where he first gets Speed Force powers. All other of the shown Thawnes all have received Speed Force powers long BEFORE Barry gets powers and in most cases are the reason why their Barrys get powers at all.

We've never met OG Flash. We've only met Anachronism #1 flash. OG Flash doesn't have his powers yet. The last time we saw OG Flash was before Barry's mom got killed. He's not supposed to have powers until he's much older. Change my mind.

I think this is the PERFECT opportunity to properly introduce Naomi into the Arrowverse. I know they've planned to keep her separate but, I think this could explain her arrival in a Multiversal way.
