I think Windows 12 needs to bring back the Frutiger Aero route if it wants a chance to thrive or I'm no longer buying anything from Microsoft after Windows 10/11 I wish I had enough to buy an old Windows 7 gaming computer when they were a thing back then I would of gladly turned it into an emulation device over being bound to Steam. I'm about to not use their service if they want communist policies to make you update to newer versions of Windows I will go back to console gaming if I have to and just casually browse the Internet and play older games from the early 2000s you can play without Steam.

It has inspired me to (hopefully) take the plunge and actually make CZcams videos. Pretty much all of your videos are topics I could put my finger on but could never actually explain, which I think does the general CZcams public a service.
I think that this video and the first Frutiger Aero video are very interesting in that my views of it became a little less positive. The Wii, early Mac OSX, DS, Windows 7, and even the books by Simon Basher are what stick with me as why I really like Frutiger Aero. Yet, there is also a lot of Frutiger Aero that looks really fake and dull, like all those soda machines and fake environmental collages. They feel decidedly different than the examples I mentioned above.

Cars from the late 10s-early 20s still retain aspects of the bubbly design but with a slightly "sleeker" look, and some sharper/more defined corners, edges, razor-thin lights etc (the Tesla look comes to mind the most)...

That weird, bubbly tech, early 3D graphics, bizzare fashion of Latex and plastic, thousands of little gadges from MP3s to Tamagochis. @@InventorZahran Kind of? But also it lost many of it's elements. That freedom enduced spunk of Y2K got completely lost, to the positive futuristic outlook and artificial 'cleanness'. Remember that incredibly nieche world of Cellphone wallpapers? That is an element that i'm kind of talking about. Positive, sterile, yet not afraid of the impact, the *scrape*. It's like a crashed car that has been polished and cleaned to the point where you start to admire the form of destruction rather than the loss of the vechicle. I got sidetracked a bit, but what i meant is that internal excitement of Y2K, and it's willingness to explore many different things that all stem from one idea. Frutiger Areo is like a sidewalk of Y2K as in, it's not the main course, but hell, where would we be without it.

Frutiger Aero is the type of aesthetic that's hopeful and lively, giving products and anything associated with it personality, unlike the corporate designs we have today, which are often dull and uninspired. I must admit I am a bit biased to frutiger aero simply because I partly grew up with the aesthetic, but I think it's very innovative, and draws connections to the real world in a way that seems fresh; frutiger aero is willing to be experimental, and shapes itself into many forms, while maintaining the core aspect of what makes it good in the first place. I found this channel through your first video, and I'm very happy to see you cover more about this design aesthetic. The only thing you forgot to talk about was Technozen, which was very popular during the same time as Frutiger Aero and it shares many similarities with the latter. Its philosophy focus on the use of technology as a supplementary addition to everyday life instead of a predominant part of it, and, compared to Aero, it's more minimalistic and Asian-focused instead. The best exemple of the aesthetic would be the Wii and Nintendo DS, as well as the "Wii" series of games and their OSTs.

I feel like the algorithm throwing your first video on frutiger aero to people out is the reason this aesthetic has gone slightly viral - that’s very impressive!

I believe that the frutiger aero aesthetic and most of the early 2000s fashion is having a comeback. And it will compete or fuse with minimalism in this next decade.

I think the most basic principle of frutiger aero is the contrast and harmonization of nature and organic aesthetics with futuristic and technological ones. It always shows a blue sky and green grass mixed with a metal building or tech equipment. It’s a very utopic hopeful style that shows what people wanted from the future.

My brother and I have always loved this aesthetic such an amazing era to grow up in

  • @omerfaruksesiguzel9247

I loved this aestethic a lot! I wish it was still the norm. In our old house, we had a bucket in bathroom that was pictured with this aestethic. It had a beautiful scenery of a lake with swans. There were bubbles in the air with rainbow casts. I loved looking at that bucket, it made me feel lively and fresh. I wish I had a photo of it.

Im glad theres people in this world who care about something so nieche and obscure, does anybody else feel joy when they see frutiger aero in old stores? My local walmart still has the old 2009-2017 pepsi and sprite machines with the whole nice frutiger ero look

The day made of glass reference dropped my jaw bro. I've been obsessed with that video since my age was single-digit. My enjoyment of frutiger aero is inseparably linked with 2000's corporate "future vision" youtube videos, there's 2 Corning vids that are both excellent as well as Nokia and Microsoft vids that envision a very similar world. To this day those videos instill an unmatched sense of optimism and nostalgia. I remember begging my dad for a windows phone at one point in time because I thought it was the coolest shit ever. For me, frutiger aero is synonymous with a utopian alternate global timeline that we diverged from in the 2000's, and the bittersweet understanding that we can never go back - it was never in our future to begin with. Like all other retro-futuristic imaginations, it was the consequence we wanted from our technology, not the consequence we got. Great vid, you're definitely CZcams's frutiguru.

I really love the frutiger aero aesthetic, It's so nostalgic. Growing up using those old computers, passing by a school that used the frutiger aero look while dad was driving us to a walmart that had that clean blue feel. I grew up around this aesthetic and it's kind of weird how I didn't even know it existed until a few months ago, but now that I know what this even was in the first place makes me feel a little better, especially since other people have noticed this old aesthetic.
