      @@chazmichaelmichaels88 I want to get a tablet (mostly for uni) now and was thinking of getting the S8+ because I feel like it's a really really great tablet with a perfect size.
      It will be mainly for note taking, but by getting a tablet I want to also get back to drawing stuff.
      With a decent discount I feel like this is the tablet to go for.
      I never had any Apple device and while I acknowledge that they also have amazing tablets, I just feel like that the S8+ is the best you can get for your money.
      How do you feel about your S8+?
      Do you like the size or would you rather have a 11 inch display?

    • @chazmichaelmichaels88
      @chazmichaelmichaels88 Před rokem

      @Emirhan you make very good points. My S8+ replaces 99% of the things I need tech for. The only exception for me is I cannot play old school runescape on my tablet (unless using the mobile app), though this isn't an issue.
      The DEX feature makes it very easy to transition from an OS with a desktop, to a tablet that is essentially a laptop.
      In terms of size, the S8+ is large, it is definitely meant to be sat on a table, however I like to watch videos so I bought a "supcase" on Amazon for like $30, it has a a place to strap your hand which is a must if you intend on carrying the tablet in hand. When I bought my tablet, I bought the $50 basic, kickstand Samsung case, I dropped it and the screen cracked (avoid this, buy from Samsung and get Samsung care+ to ensure you don't break your bank, trust me on this one, it's worth the cost). Anyways, after the drop, I find it extremely important to have a case with a hand strap.
      I'm free to answer any questions you may have.
      Btw, the s8, s8+ ans s8 ultra are all amazing. S8 has basic screen, s8+ is the ultra but smaller and the s8 ultra is the biggest and best (though the ultra can do a bit more, it really isn't worth the extra cost unless you get a great deal.)
      Just keep in mind, it's a big and beautiful tablet. Handling it is 100% your biggest risk, invest in liquid glass AND a tempered glass screen protector. Get a decent "rugged" case and ensure you have some sort of accidental insurance. Promise you won't regret the purchase.
      Again, feel free to ask me whatever questions you have.

    • @chazmichaelmichaels88
      @chazmichaelmichaels88 Před rokem +2

      @Emirhan Oh! Also, for your education, ensure the tablet can run the softwares you may be required to use. It is an extremely powerful tablet, but due to software restrictions it will not 100% replace a laptop/desktop.

    I've been fully in the apple ecosystem for 6+ years now, with many iMacs, MacBooks, iPads, iPhones, Apple TVs, mac mini, etc., but I picked the S8 Ultra up recently because the iPad Pro 12.9" is just too small for what I mostly use a tablet for: media consumption, including comics. Especially because the iPads have a 4:3 ratio while this is a wider 16:10 ratio, which makes video even wider than just the screen size increase. It's pretty much perfect for comic as it feels finally the right size. Highly recommend this tablet as I've loved using it since I got it. No problems with brightness in sunny rooms although I haven't used it outdoors.

    As a long-time Samsung android tablet user, I would really recommend using the SAMSUNG INTERNET BROWSER. That thing is a game-changer and makes the experience even more like a DESKTOP experience as it loads sites in their desktop versions, this is important because you won't be presented with weird mobile layout pages on such a huge screen (of course, Chrome browser can do this too, but you have to set to desktop mode FOR EACH tab every time which is a little cumbersome to me.).
    I'm saying this because the Samsung Internet browser is underrated and not getting the right acknowledgment it deserves. Most of my daily work tasks can be done through a browser (answering emails, google services such as spreadsheets and docs, Jira, etc) but some can only work best when being viewed in desktop mode (ahem, google services!) as the mobile version won't cut it.
    Bottom line, I like for a mobile browser to load the desktop versions of the sites I'm visiting especially on a tablet with a screen this big (14.6 inches). It makes more sense. :)

Like using safari on Apple products, Chrome on Chromebook/Androids, and I think it even went as far as to say Edge on Microsoft products(not sure I agree there though). As a musician I have always wanted to see a competitor to the iPad Pro, for reading and writing on sheet music. Most musicians prefer the iPad Pro, or at least air, as it is a similar enough size to an a4 piece of paper making it a easy to read scores, without squinting. The app I use; ForScore has always been the best app to view and editing scores on the fly, quickly adding notation, and is especially good at handling lots of massive digital scores taking up heaps of storage in one easy to access app, and so I love the iPad for that. But the fact it has always been the only option has been really annoying! So now that this is out and bigger, makes it perfect for reading scores! Now I hope the just put something similar to forscore on the Samsung tab ultra and I can start recommending it to friends and colleagues, might even look at one myself for the future!

    • @EscapeVelocity11186
      @EscapeVelocity11186 Před 2 lety +2

      @@Oleg__ I mean, it's just history at this point. Android has been turning things around for professional users and app developers more recently, but for years on end, Android did nothing to stimulate a professional userbase and was not a good business environment for app devs despite ease of development.
      Here's the data: in 2021, despite being around 15% of global smartphone marketshare, iOS claimed 63% of total app revenue and 76% of non-game app revenue. 79% of subscription revenues were generated on iOS. And that's from having nearly 1/6 the userbase. This is the kind of market that app devs want to see - potential customers that will not just spend a lot of money, but spend money on a regular basis (subscription models > single-purchases for app devs due to continuous development costs). And iOS is easier to support to boot due to the relative homogeneity of Apple's product lineup.
      When it comes to non-game professional use, iOS clearly has an edge. Only recently, as Android has put a lot more focus on tablet form factors with Android 12L and big Android manufacturers like Samsung up their tablet game, do we see some apps start arriving on Android (likely with good deals from manufacturers like Samsung to ease the transition costs). Still, for creatives and many professionals, the iPad is the place to be because of the ecosystem and the history of long-term support, both from Apple and from app developers.

    never watched a video on my phone since then, the screen is incredible (12.4")
    and i also bought the book cover bc without it, it's pretty hard to find a good way to set it to watch it confortably
    i bought it to take note during class but sometimes i wished it could run computer app
    So now i use it with parsec to acces my desktop from class and do things however i want
    just one down side, the batterie losses around 50% in 3h using parsec or notes with the keyborad and a donggle with a mouse attach to it
    so when i see samsung release an even bigger tablet like this i'm really excited for the future of android tablet

The fact they have put Android on W11 suggests that in they are tacitly admitting they got that concept totally wrong. Windows simply does not sit well with a touch UI and Apple and Samsung have proven that a specific mobile OS for tablets is the de facto course. All Samsung has done with DeX is add a windowed UI for those familiar with Windows and still want that look. DeX still remains 100% Android.

      I feel like you can't really compare the two. The surface pro (up until sp7) is more of a windows laptop that can be used as a tablet and the iPad pro and tab s8 are tablets with laptop features. If you already own a windows laptop it doesn't really make sense to buy a surface pro over tab s8 or iPad pro, but if you're in need of a laptop the Samsung and Apple tablets won't be able to replace it for you since they don't run desktop operating systems that a lot of computer programs require

      I have a 12.9 and really enjoy the aspect of the ipad. It probably depends on the use. I feel for things like drawing and reading comic books, the ipad is a nice size since it is more similar to international paper standards than tv screens. So I imagine if the use is something like streaming from Steam to a tablet, the samsung would have a better screen to game in 1080p.

      @@v.sandberg6326 the thing about that is ... paper doesn't have stacks of tool palettes taking up a huge chunk of your screen. the 13" iPad Pro was a let down from an artist's perspective because the squat screen ratio barely added any usable screen width to the 11" model (which has a wider ratio). This Galaxy is the first tablet I've ever considered using besides an iPad because that 14.6" being wide aspect adds a ton of *usable* screen real estate for a Clip Studio Paint user.
