    Very good and detailed review. I also like how you converted the standards so that people around the world can understand what numbers mean what. like you converted kilometers and c degrees into miles per hour and Fahrenheit good job mate.

    I ride this bike since April(ia?) and I can confirm quite every thing you said.
    In a few words: a very good compromise for everyday communting + casual trackdays.
    2 highly recommended mods will be a tall windscreen and a better rear shock absorber.

    Just found your channel and I appreciate this! I really think this bike is forging a new category. Style wise and engine wise this looks like a bike that is on the closer end to a sportbike than the standard type bikes like the Ninja 650 you mentioned. I think this bike allows for guys like me that WANT most of the style and excitement of a sportbike, without the concessions and yawn inducing (lack of) excitement and looks the typical 650 class bikes have.

      So the RS is more expensive there? Here in the UK the 890R is a bit more expensive than the RS, but like... £350? But on top you need to add the track pack and bits, so overall it is more expensive if you add the cruise control, quick shifter and all.

      Yep, in Brissie. As far as LAMS bikes go, I reckon this is the best. One thing I will say is, if you get the Trident 660, you can unlock it very easily so it makes 90+HP, making it by far the most powerful learner bike 😈. Very tempting indeed...

    Hi there, great review. I've decided to finally get into motorcycling after putting it off for years. In your opinion would this be a good first bike? I would use it mostly for commuting & a little mountain run on the weekend. In my mid 30s consider myself a fairy sensible & responsible driver, wouldn't do anything crazy. My biggest concern is would I miss out developing the fundamental skills from riding lower cc bikes?

    • @onthebackwheel
      @onthebackwheel  Před 2 lety +1

      I'd recommend getting something like a Ninja 400 first. Another option could be getting a learner approved RS660 and then look into derestricting it. If you had a dirtbike history id say go for the full power version. I started on a cbr600f4i and had no issues, they are only as fast as you twist the throttle!

    • @yellow6ird
      @yellow6ird Před 2 lety

      @@onthebackwheel yes I'm aware there's a LAMS version that's why I'm curious would it make a good beginner bike. A Ninja 400 is the default option. Currently also looking at the R15, R3, the upcoming RC390 & the Vitpilen 401. From a sensible stand point the 401 is the way to go. However since my goal ultimately will be sth like the RS660 so thought would it make sense to jump straight on instead.
