This man walks the line of irony and being genuine so perfectly I can't even tell.
know the guy irl. it's genuine.
He’s a pure outside artist
@@aberami6090 Outsider art is really a trip, fascinating stuff.
He walks the thinnest line
I talked to him on the phone once. He was super nice and genuine. He acted like we were old friends. A really cool person
“But I didn’t know really do you care for the music, do ya?”
*DO YA?!*
That part really pulled the heart strings
Best part 😂😂
“The major fall the major lift”
I’m crying laughing at 3 am hoping I don’t wake up my parents 😂
"She became a Shrek from a human. I have the videos at home"
This looks like a VHS you'd find at a murder.
*Number 15*
DeSpAcitO 12 Confirmed 15 reasons why to watch SHREK RETOLD
And you'll never find where i hid the body...you meddling kids
Well it is on it now.
Big lip Shrek is so weird
Shrek retold has such an underrated soundtrack
I totally agree my shreky friend
ikr
"And Donkey really loves you. He really cares about you. He's a brother of love"
'I heard there was a secret choir
That David played and pleased the lord
But I didn't know really you cared for the music do you?'
"Maybe it's been here before
I knew this room, I walk this floor
I used to live alone before I knew you"
Funny because he’s David like it was meant to be
@@noahn4336 it goes like this, a fourth a fifth, a major fall, a major lift
Drunk karaoke
I unironically love the way his voice trembles and crests on that "cold and broken hallelujah" line
That vibrato is life changing
Rythme : *wrong*
Lyrics : *wrong*
Performance : *EPIC*
TheMusicalKnokcers hallelujah!
This puppetry could rival sesame street.
STOP. EATING. MY. SESAME. STREET.
It does.
Wait, what? This isn't Sesame Street?!
The guy directing this clearly hasn't seen the movie as much as David.
Even if he struggles with the lyrics and the tones, you can feel his passion. It might sound strange to some but it's a great way for Hallelujah to be sung and makes it one of my favourite covers.
*_For some reason, Illumination should have taken some notes here._*
Imagine the balls illumination would have to spit in the face of our god Shrek
They taint the lord shrek and his ambassador donkey with the false word of the ogre they have onions coming for them as they will roast them and peal back the layers of falseness and bath them in the mud of shrek until they learn the song all star by heart as well be able to quote the entire movie without a script as well as learn the biology of the ogre and finally be one with the our lord shrek
Illumination ain't got shit on this.
It really is good that in those many Shrek cartoons, Shrek managed to get his female Shrek early-on.
"Ive heard there was a secret choir,
that David played and pleased the lord,
but I didnt know really do you care do you the music do ya?"
Utterly inspiring wisdom from our dear musical boy
I love my lady Shrek too.
Who else went "Holy shit, they got David Liebe Hart for this!!!" when this part came up
I'm glad I'm not the only one XD For a second I was like "Is that who I think it is?"
@@EagleTimberWolf Where this man is, I hope he's staying safe. He's a national treasure.
I love the little smiles that he gives between saying hallelujah.
Is this what you hear when you go to heaven?
Skipperino Trumperino
I hope so.
Yes
If it is, then *"Hallelujah!"*
I would like to say so. I hope so. I hope this is what I hear when I see my grandpa for the first time since he died when I get to Heaven.
It's what they play in heck, silly.
"Hope you find someone too Dave"
So do I Dave. I sincerely hope you do.
*sniffs* It’s beautiful.
Indeed it is
I sniffed too, because I'm kinda sick but also because it is beautiful indeed.
Smells like a swamp
It’s enough to make a grown man cry. And that’s ok. Keep on rolling tear.
Apparently, he did a promo for Shrek the Third so it’s interesting that it came full circle in this collab.
This is the best song in the whole movie
she became a shrek from a human
i have the videos at home
I know it's supposed to be kind of goofy, but i'm genuinely moved by this man's warmth.
I honestly can't tell if this guy is for real or not.
Spazzitron McGee that’s kind of the point I think
David Liebe Hart has been an LA legend for decades cause he had a long running public access show and for busking around the city with his puppets. He broke through with his appearances on Tim and Eric. It’s not an act, it’s not a character. Basically when people use David in projects they tend to just turn the camera on and give him as little direction as possible.
ive met the guy irl. were facebook friends. its not an act.
Most of the people from Tim and Eric (pretty much except John C. Riley) that's just who they are.
Oh it’s real. It’s real son
I don't know but when you listen to it not as a joke it is heart warming
I like how he says "I have the videos at home" not looking at the other dude. It's like "Bitch, I know my shit"
One of the most amazing parts of the whole thing
One of my favorite covers in the movie.
congrats youre first!!!!! YEAY!!! 😃😃😃
Oh ok.
Holy crap this was a cover?
I thought he was lip syncing to the original!
I wish he was one of my grandpas and gave me his puppets and tell me the story as to why they exist.
He’s so cute.
Even the message he gives about love is everything I live for. Beautiful man 👏👏
I just talked to him on the phone yesterday for a half hour. He's amazing
@@philadams5580 is he your landlord or something
@@GrplrZrn he teaches me to stay in school and stay focused
"ya gotta go see the new movie SHRET, I have a crush on his green wife with their lil green babies on there" - David L Hart (Shrek The Third Promo)
I shouldn't be getting chills for this...
WHY AM I GETTING CHILLS
"I have the videos at home"
Pretty amazing that a "joke" interpretation ended up being one of the best performances of this song I have ever heard
“My sweet wife that became a Shrek from a human”
this man deserves the world. i get so much seratonin from this video i hope this man gets everything he’d ever want in life i love him
Thanks for uploading this separately from the main video.
Bless you.
*FIONA IS SHRET!*
This is the closest thing to heaven
Yup
Correction this is heaven
you could say it was... [MADE IN HEAVEN]
"I have videos at home," is so incredibly ominous.
I love how he doesnt really know when to move the puppet's mouth.
Mom can we have shrek?
Mom: no we have shrek at home
Shrek at home:
He’s like the public access TV version of Al Roker.
well now I have a new favorite version of Hallelujah! Thanks!
“I have videos at home”
This is so sad Alexa play All Star
These puppets are honestly cute
Like the other renditions in sherk retold this one was LOVE , this one was LIFE
I heard there was a secret choir
That David played, and pleased the lord
But I didn't, know really.. you cared for the music, do ya?
I- It goes like this
A fourth a fifth
A major fall, a major lift
A battled king composing.. Hallelujah
(chorus: hallelujah x 4)
Maybe you've been here before
I knew this room, I walked this floor
I used to live alone before I knew you
I've seen the flag of a marble arch
Our love not the victory march
A co-o-old.. and broken.. Hallelujah
(chorus: hallelujah x 4)
And all I ever learned from love
Was how to shoot somebody.. that out drew you
Maybe not a cry is ever heard at night
A somebody seen in the light
A co-o-old and broken.. Hallelujah
(chorus: hallelujah x 4)
he was in my passenger seat yesterday. we delivered his hymns to chicago churches of all denominations. i bought him dinner he wanted a chicken country fried steak but only ate the salad. he's going blind in 2024 I helped him all i could, he was super strange but a super genuine fun guy i'm happy i got to talk to.
i sing this cover in my classrom,my friends love it,thanks 3GI and David
by far my favorite clip in shrek retold. now I can watch it daily without having to watch all of shrek retold again. hell yes
Strangely, this is my favorite cover.
One year later and I am still watching this. I don’t see it changing either. I hope you find love, too, David!!
His voice gives me the constant urge to clear my throat
This is my favorite Shrek Retold scene
One of the greatest covers ever made, made me tear up almost instantly.
This actually made me want to sing along and that ending was great xD
This prevented me from committing die, thank you 3GI, May shrek bless your souls❤️❤️❤️
jesus christ i'm crying so hard now
"The only way you're gonna learn is to admit to your faults, and you've got to not to control your temper."
I tell myself this in the mirror daily.
This is the video i show people to get into DLH. Absolutely incredible outsider artist, genuinely good voice, Absolutely Fascinating his beliefs. Loved him for years, was so happy when I first watched Shrek Retold that he got a feature, and one of the most important scenes at that
David is a whole different beast of a performer.
Just watched this film on acid for my 30th. My god what a experience 10/10 would recommend. Can't wait for Shrek retold 2 . 👍
Why am I so obbsessed with shrek now.
Brogre
Step aside Jim Henson, there’s a new puppeteer in this town
This has impacted me so much. It's a real tear-jerker
You're at it again David!! God bless your wonderful soul my friend!! We'll see you in Buffalo soon, and make you those nice chicken dumplings you like (with a golden bed to sleep on) and the favorite ice tea that you prefer.
Love, the David Liebe Hart Tribute Band
this is similar to the shrek 2 "I need a hero" scene in terms of iconicness.
This has moved me on a spiritual level.
What a treasure of a man
I want a non parody cover that has a musical crescendo like this one. Like with a power ballad ending. I’ve yet to find one that isn’t minimalistic and comparatively weak.
Funniest scene in the film.
Shrekallujah
Yup
God bless this man! 🙏🏻
I can't believe they got the guy who promoted shrek the third on adult swim to do this.
This should be on Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job
I love this community
It's like he knows the lyrics but he'd rather die than sing the song correctly
wtf is this liquid rolling down my face?
its blood
I think I need to punch a wall. I'm supposed to be a man! RAAAAA
shrek jizz
Still heartwarming!
My favorite part of the retelling. Thanks for clipping it!
I love that it looks like he's reading the lyrics but reciting them by memory
That's a powerful observation tbh
I ‘eard there was a secret choir
Kiss kiss she turned into a shrek
So happy you added this.
Thank you. I needed this
I love how near the end the hand reaches for his earbuds
Definitely a highlight of the many massive highlights of Sherk Retold
For some reason this almost made me cry
I'm crying
mariah carey got competition with that voice
Perfectly wholesome, as all things should be.
🎵I heard there was a secret choir
That David played, and pleased the Lord
But I didn't know really do you care for the music, do you?
I grows like this, a fourth, a fifth
A Major fall, a major lift
A battle king composing "Hallelujah"
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Maybe I've been here before
I knew this room, I walked this floor
I used to live alone before I knew you
I've seen the flag on the marble arch
I love not the victory march
A cold and broken Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
And all I've ever learned from love
Was how to shoot somebody that outdrew you
Maybe not a cry is ever heard at night

A cold and broken Hallelujah🎵

This is my favorite version of this song.
May we all one day become a Shrek.
It’s so wholesome, I love you this!
This is the most wholesome scene
This was by far the best part of Shrek Retold
Okay but I love David's voice
