A talk by Abhijit Gupta, Prof. of English Department, Jadavpur University | Comics in Bengal | KCC

On the inauguration day of 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘤𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘉𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘭, presented by 𝗞𝗖𝗖 in collaboration with 𝗖𝗖𝗖, 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗯𝗵𝗶𝗷𝗶𝘁 𝗚𝘂𝗽𝘁𝗮 (Dept. Of English, Jadavpur University) took us to the initial days of Bengali comics. The presentation is so detailed that you can almost travel to those golden days and a developing period of Bengali Comics. The exhibition runs for one month till the 9th of March 2024. I don't get it. It's a session on a Bengali comic series through the ages. The person giving the speech is Bengali. ALL the comic artists are Bengali. The comics are written in Bengali. Why is the man speaking in English? Is it because KCC, which is hosting the event, is bankrolled by Marwaris?
