- Today we are heading out to the swamp for what could be the last time. The lake is dropping rapidly and it is getting extremely difficult to access. They stocked some lottery fish in the lake that we are hoping to catch while out there, if we do, they are worth $1,000! It's always great to see you. I'm so, so sad to see the bottom of your beautiful lake. I hope that the five years go by fast. Maybe, if the lake bottom dries hard enough to walk on, you can take Cyprus out with a bucket and look for treasures that people have lost. It would be an amazing opportunity for your little man and worth the time just to see the expressions on his face with each discovery. I'm looking forward to your next video, wherever it might be. Oh, you might contact the National Arbor Day Foundation to see about getting more trees planted in the lake. They'd know others that can appeal to legislators.
Don't forget, you might could raise a large garden where the lake was.
I know you'll don't want the lake to go, but it's already done sounds like. Where capitalize on the situation as is. As saying says, someone gives you a lot of sour lemons, make lemonade. Not dismissing your preference for keeping the lake at all. Just saying, make it something in five years is better than what it is now. Dept. Of forestry is probably sitting around with plenty of heavy equipment not doing anything, but they could excavate dirt, build up islands that can serve as wind breaks.
Where it'd be good to dig the channel out anyway, then lined with trees.
Maybe this isn't comforting enough, but it's all I can think of is to make it something better when refilling comes around.

Oh, your dock will probably subject to Rot with the water lowering. Which I'll mention PC-Rot Terminator out of Allentown, PA. You might be able to cut a deal maybe? It's a thin epoxy that penetrates porous areas of wood. It can be so rotten as to easily crumble between your fingers. 3 days later, strike with a hammer, it doesnt dent nor break. Where it seals the wood too. It's everything they claim.and more from my experience, though I haven't used it in over ten years. Food for thought.

I drove threw Conway yesterday. Pretty sad seeing it drained. They dropped the level of Lake Maumelle last year but filled it back up this year

Been watching . Waiting for someone to document the wildlife of the lake. Would be supper interesting to see before during and after. Not only the fish but everything from insects to raccoons. How is it changing?
We caught a bunch of small crappies , game warden stopped a checked us out . He said don’t thro them back , keep them , toss them on the bank. I decide to keep them and have my son clean them for practice, fish were 3-4 inches. At the time he was 8 , I cleaned two or three, he cleaned about 6 before he got even a sliver of meat. Put them on a smoker cooked until they curled up and were dry. Put in bowl with buttered popcorn salt.
Turned out great.

There will be 10 weeds out there next summer. One of the lakes near me was drained in the spring and it had 10 grass in it now

Please guys! Don’t dwell on the past. Dwell on the future 5 yrs. isn’t that long I been watching you for 7+ years? Maybe longer. You maybe had 10-25 thousand subscribers?
We have had our channel running for 5 years. If they were leaving a little bit of water to keep some fish we wouldn’t be as upset about it. After they are done with the renovations we will have to wait for the lake to come back up plus the time it takes for them to stock fish and wait for them to get to a good size worth fishing for. Will probably be 10 years when it’s good fishing again for some things.

That lake will never dry up as long as Conway residents keep flushing their toilets! Do a fishing trip to Sugar Creek and see what you catch.

I’m a Louisiana man and fish both fresh and saltwater, LDWF is currently draining Henderson Lake to control the grass and hyacinth, not sure why they think they have to do this, just let Mother Nature do her thing and everything will work itself out…you can always count on these government agencies to mess things up…sorry for your loss…

Where are you guys in Arkansas if you are you should come to McDonald county Missouri and go to creek side there is cat fish small mouth large mouth trout crappie gogalie bluegill and white bass and it’s not very big creek so easy to fish also not a lot of people huge fish tho.

I made 18 pints of dill pickles, and 3 pints of B&B pickles this summer. The B&B pickles are for me. My wife and son don't like B&B pickles.

So I heard you say there was some 5 year project on your lake? That really sucks and then how often do govt agencies actually finish projects on their projected schedule. When it is finished and filled how long before it becomes a viable fishery again?

I have been watching you all for about 8 Months or so, Arms Family turned me onto your Channel. I am just so Shocked that they are actually draining the lake.....Doesn't make any sense to me at all but I'm a nobody so it doesn't matter. However, will of that Water Free Land be able to be used by the Public when it's Drained? I'm just curious because it seems like the Deer will likely still be foraging around the area and you may be able to get a Monster buck? Trying to think of something positive for all of you....I can't imagine what that's doing to the Property Values of anyone that lives on that lake? Gotta be devastating! Very sorry that's happening.

Hey everyone just need to clarify something. I am not in favor or the lake being drained at all, but the lake is very old and the dam was aging and needed repairs also the game and fish commission will do extensive habitat reconstruction and will eventually make the lake better in the long run and will probably stock Florida LMB. So I know it is sad and seems terrible now but the lake will be better off in the long run 👍🏻
