COVEN is a new epic skin for Syndra that was released in October 2023. This epic LOL skin features a brand new set of visual effects for Syndra, as well as a total makeover of her looks.
Coven Syndra costs 1350 RP, and can be purchased from the League of Legends store.

I feel like her skin is thematically the strongest in the new batch but the execution simply feels… abandoned? As though the effort fell off after a certain point

The problem with this batch of skins is the lack of High Fashion that makes this skinline so unique and eye-catching. Syndra screams Queen of a Coven but her outfit is a mess of things. The balls were ok but they could have added the eye to the previous ball model, making a devilish biblically accurate angel.
Nami skin is so cool but here we go again, the outfit is not screaming High Fashion. If every legendary in Coven is a 10, Nami is a 9 and Syndra went straight to 7, not Bad but the potential was so high that it feels upsetting.

@tostupidforname no but that's true, The Coven is meant to transform the runeterra gurlies as high fashion goth witches. Stellari, the rioter who illustrated and designed lissandra and Camille had implied about it. Coven had a special place for me because the witches served every single year. From Gowns(high slits to sheath), bodysuits, cloaks, boas, drapes, jumpsuits, headpieces etc adorned with feathers, jewellery, gold etc which screams goth witches. But this batch simply doesn't reach upto THAT. They look reused...the only designs that I felt that felt new were Nilah and Elise. And the best thing about these skins were that each witch represented an animal and every skin had an element that had that sort of symbolism. This batch fails to deliver us that.

I really dont know why this company really loves holding back when doing skins of champions that really fits the skinline. If they're too worried about the silhouette thing, they turn namis tail into an octupus. Why cant other champs have little tweaks on their designs.
Nami is great, but Elise and Syndra really fit in this skin line, they couldve done more.

Syndra got screwed on this one, sadly. Granted, this batch of Coven skins is quite lacking in general; even Nami's is "meh" to me when compared to the previous skins. I appreciate RIOT updating the skin after release and all, but this was indeed a swing and a miss, unfortunately. Even *YOUR* immense skills couldn't make me want it, and that's saying something lol
Syndra never deserved the rework to begin with. Just saying. And Nami's skin is better than Evelynn fight me.

IDK if i'm the only one, but the mutilated crow-orbs should've stayed 😭😭 they were so morbid and felt so fitting for an evil dark witch, the new orbs are so boring

I really hate that people always link back to that fanart which doesn't even look that great. Also hate that they changed her hair to blonde. Literally coven was getting kind of stale since they all looked so similar. I liked the original pink hair since this is a different coven but oh well. Literally I like the coven line but after the first batch, literally the only really good thing was the chromas. Even with the changes, both versions of Syndra just look bad. I think its mostly the dress design. At least they knocked it out of the park with Nami.

Probably the reason the base model of the skin doesn't have empowered orb fx but the chromas do is because Rito's new master Xi needs a new pair of gem encrusted 🩲 with delicate filigree gold trim and they're hoping you spend the extra money. Rito needs it. They're a small indie company.
I felt you censored you a bit, cuz I wanted to see how you compared it with the before changes, and that. And you didn't talk about the Eyeballs being completely inmovil and 2D, but at the ends keeps being a decent skin
I actually was considering doing a comparison but sadly I didn't have any footage of the old syndra, and using someone else's footage is not something I'd do. I wish there were ways to play older league versions with their respective skins

But an also disappointing skin (somewhat) was nami. I actually bought all her chromas and her border and icon too and she feels so... okay? The dark form lasts for like 5 seconds after ult, the outfit is boring and is lacking femme Fatale energy. I love her taunts but I hate only like some of her voicelines. Some are fitting with coven though

Do I think syndra deserved the legendary? Yes but im also thinking about nami too.. I kinda like namis cuz she's something entirely new and it's serving a plate. But the plate isn't big enough to be a "perfect coven skin"
Because that's not namis character. I feel like nami could've fit this skinline with a better outfit. Way less lazy dark form. And some accurate enough lore. Oh and probably a more "coven-like" personality (I like her current one but again, it's not that giving of what a coven legendary should feel like)

Floptina tbh, they should just abandon the skinline, the original concept artist for it left riot after getting mistreated.
Without said artist, the skinline is just lost, none of the skins on this batch have that high fashion element to them.
The Syndra mains were really toxic when it first came out which is weird because I feel the dark hair fitted her more and made her more unique, if a little less standout. The blonde just feels so forced here.
Syndra mains wasnt toxic. The skin indeed was shit with severed ornn heads. Instead of only fixing the outfits and orb, riot did the unnecessary changes.
Let's be honest this 2023 Coven batch isn't Coven, at all
It looks as a new skinline and that's what got the players mad
They could have done itvso much better sunce the beginning and Syndra with red hair looked more like a Crime City Nightmare skin
