- The Motocrane had incredible potential, but we might have been a bit overly ambitious with regards to permits and location scouting. Our new rig for shooting car reviews is smaller, quicker to set up, and draws less attention.

I absolutely love the fact that the older this channel gets, the more chaotic good comes out in each video release
Chaos is our passion ❤️
They now know that we find THEM entertaining, despite the content
@@BrandonHavardIs the G-wagon an upcoming video?
As someone who has worked in the creative tech industry for over 10 years...I'm extremely impressed/ jealous of you guys and your resources.
Y'all do some really cool shit!
But can they polish shit, like the Mythbusters?
❤️❤️
That intro graphic to irl shot transition was 🤌
The storytelling and edit of this video was the best from this channel so far, loved it
One of the best studio videos to have come out of this channel!
Agreed!
One of the studio videos of all time
The fact I just watched through the ad reel shows that Brandon did a hilarious job! Hahaha!😂
got the ad job done 👍🏾
Killer solution!
Wym, I would've done the same if I had 50 spare grands.
Have to say, Brandon killed it hosting this video. Hope to see him on that end more! Also I see him almost snagging Marques' outro and then the sudden 'bye'🤣
Are you kidding me with that intro/ transition @ 0:30 ?!? So good!!
I'm not an AV guy so maybe I'm not understanding what's impressive about it. Just looks like they zoomed out.
I appreciated the price breakdowns and the cheaper alternative options too. Great video.
I'm a helicopter cine camera operator for a living, so I know how f*ckin expensive rigs can get. I must say, although this isn't a super cheap solution it's definitely all around the most reliable and streamlined that I've seen in some time. I love crane shots, but they're SO bulky and the amount of moving parts just throws wrenches into every planned shot. Well done!
❤️❤️
Gets the shot… that save time and more money.
sounds like a really cool job 👏
absolutely awesome, honestly would be epic if you guys tried a modern day spin on top gear and you have to do challenges using certain tech devices, would SLAP
"would SLAP" With Will Smith?
Man, a Top Gear type quest by these guys would be soo sick!
Pick up a Tilta Fischer 3 to Nucleus 7pin cable (Part# RS-03-AM) and plug it into the V-Raptor’s front RS port. That’s a possible solution for your remote start stop.
That’s the comment I’ve been looking for, thought the same thing!
Exactly, works like a charm and they have cables for pretty much every camera.
This felt more like a *havard* video than a *the Studio* video
Love seeing a studio video from Brandon, he's such a great creator! Please do more like this!
As a camera assistant in the filmmaking business, your follow focus unit and wireless transmission are the best budget option in business. I've been using the nucleus with teradek and smallhd unit for a long time and I must say I love seeing this use in the studio as business as well!
The tow hitch rig is way more inconspicuous compared to car rig which was cool but unrealistic
Beautifully made video! Absolutely loved it.
The narration, the graphics, just the overall production and edit is so fun to watch.
love the ad editing
I never thought I'd actually rewind an ad segment, but I did. Hilarious! Well done (and the rest of the video is pretty amazing, too).
That is the only sponsor ad I've ever voluntarily watched on CZcams. Amazing.
great video but that sponsorship spot went way too hard hahha. love it
Would love to see a Studio video on the making of this intro. It’s dope af
Great to see Brandon’s distinct ‘box’ ratio during the ad-break. And with that, I’m still here waiting for Brandon’s next video🥹
Appreciate you, babes ❤️
the ad reel was AWESOME
The Ad section is so Brandon and I LOVE IT! Great video as always! :)
wow, this is new. i have been following studio kanal since the beginning and this video is very different from the previous ones. The color grading the composition of the videos using creative texts that sometimes interact with the background. very strong!!! I particularly like the color grading. If you would release a LUT with this effect I would buy it. the whole shots were more in the style of Asteroid City (Wes Anderson).
If I had a dollar for every time I seen someone compliment MKB and the studios color grading and composition, I would have more than one dollar. That is for certain.
I admire your work a lot guys
Hi, for the Start\Stop recording you just need the Tilta start-stop Cable that runs from the Nucleus motor to the CRTL port on the camera, the you can press record with the Nucleus Controller, works like a charm, i've used it with every Red camera.
Awesome editing. Love to see the experimental aspect.
LOVE the way how you guys shot the ad
Lol, I loved the sponsor segment a lot 🤣🤣🤣
Eid Mubarak! I appreciate the effort and energy you guys are putting on all of the channels not just main channel.
Can we show that ad some love? I didn’t even skip.
The rig is really nice! In my opinion it’s not a janky as you make is sound in the end…
For the monitor mount, mule-carts or ratworksengineering are making special accessories to fit on the front headrest and mount any accessories using 1/4 20 screw
For the remote start/stop did red change their Lemo pin for R/S ? I know that you can get a cable from tilta to trigger old dsmc 2 body from the nucleus
Otherwise you might be able to use an adapter like bright tangerine trigger nato rail that get you a 3 pin fisher port to trigger the camera
Love the experimentation of videos on the channel. Love the video, huge congrats to Brandon 🤘
This video is just pretty awesome. From start to finish
I love the studio team and the studio channel, although I am a student but I'll wish for a team like this in my career. Appreciate your efforts bro😊
Editing and content from the studio is probably most definitely my favorite :)
I want to mount that rig on our piper pa28 airplane!
i love how this channel is starting to feel less like mkbhds side channel and more of its own thing the vids are rlly good and feel unique now
Now you gotta make a trip over to Ohio and film some cars with us 😉
And now they done did 🤗
As a remote camera engineer, I'd quite concerned about the lack of safety bonds on this. Wouldn't want to see what a Ronin+Red combo would do to a car if it fell off on the motorway!
Good point. I'm imagining a cable solution like Formula 1 has when a tire breaks off the hub.
I promise you, we take proper safety precautions. Appreciate the concern ❤️
And that unsecured monitor inside the car, not to talk about not wearing a seatbelt 💀
I usually skip the sponsorship part but that aesthetic advertisement was dope AF
Fantastic vid y’all
One of the best studio vids for sure
I miss working in productions like these. All the crew are somehow jank and creative at the same time! The rig itself is great and focuses on unique features to produce that great money-shot. More power to you guys! Kinda want to see more behind the scenes production stuff like this.
3:53 that might be the best sponsored segment I've ever seen
For the camera start stop, tilta sells a cable that goes from the motor to the control port on the red. Works great. Been using essentially the same setup for a few years now.
Love to see progression. If y'all ever need an extra hand in any automotive production Id love to help out!! Cant wait to see what else y'all put out!
That ad mid video was hilarious, loved it!
Love the lens hood
This was the video I needed today. Thanks Studio!
Beautiful setup. Kudus to Marquese for assembling The Avengers with such creative superpowers
One thing to note, always safeguard your setup from potential failure. Having that setup fall off might cause a disaster especially in high-speed public roads.
I gotta say that this was one of the only advertising inside a video that I didn't skip.. well done, Brandon! It was quite funny.
Love getting a peek behind the curtain from you guys, looks like a ton of fun too!
That rig is fire!!! All of it is perfection.
For run stop I’d suggest using the nucleus and getting a 7pin to 3pin r/s cable. Should connect I think to the 24v 3pin rs on the front of the camera body and will also supply power to the motor. There’s also the 4 pin ctrl port but I’m not sure if the nucleus is capable of firing with that cable on the dsmc3 bodies. Haven’t tried yet. Looks like a nice setup! Don’t forget some safeties!
I love it. Very impressive and I like the old tv style
Super interesting how while I was watching this as an outsider I was thinking "all these batteries, why not just plug it in?" but you actually built to be battery/modular first, and then are going to add the ability after the fact to be plugged into the current truck because it offers that option.
Just interesting how my initial thought was to build specific for the Rivian first, but you folks built for "any car with a hitch" first.
You have multiple options for run/stop on your RED package. You could run a R/S cable from the Tilta motor to the R/S port on the camera and have R/S controlled on the Nucleus unit. You can also control R/S from the Ronin 2 controller with a DSMC2->R2 R/S cable.
more of this stuff please!!!!
i know this not what the video about but daaam that ad was so good and i think this is the first time i saw an entire ad, and this video was absolutely fantastic.
Bravo guys and keep going
this is so cool! I have 0 knowledge about video making so getting to see how you guys create your content is super interesting 🤩
Bro how do you find all these talented people like this, that all work on projects together?
I am trying to build a team of people like this myself. Where do I start?
I was thinking the same thing watching this. MKBHD team is legit, even if The Studio channel was (IMHO) struggling to find its foothold at first.
it took him YEARSSSSSS
They’re all pretty hot too
Whatever you do, do something that will make people want to work for you. There's no other way. You've got to do that first part yourself, show that you're doing something cool and have something to share with everyone. That's going to make smart, talented people WANT to work for you, and you just go from there...
@@rampadmanabhan4258 I like that insight, I appreciate that thank you!!! 🙏 🙏 🙏
Ad spot was on point 😂👌
The sponsor spot was bad in a very funny way, then it turned around and it was very good
You should be able to set up run/stop with the tilts hand unit. Dope rig!
Super awesome to have a way to raise and lower the entire rig on the hitch to get high angle shots.
The ad part is so good that i just watched it through like a part of the video
No comments on it but I for one am very excited for this teased G Wagon video. Is that Auto Focus? Wouldn't have expected it!
The colors in this video look so good!
the ad was so freakin funny its probably the best ive seen in a long time!!
best episode so far, the sponsor ad is genius
The coolest video from this channel so far, more gear videos please.
NICE NICE NICE! Keep it always locked before shoot, every piece is damn expensive but thank you for sharing the EXP, learned a lot about camera production today. Looking forward for the next video and its evolution
Props to Michael for that intro graphic 🔥
Nice to have you back
Lark Max ad was on point
I missed these Brendon Havard videos
I liked the Lark max video more than the camera rig commercial.
love this style!
This is officially my favorite video in the MKBHD ecosystem 🤣❤️
This channel is so freakin good man
Thanks for going really into the details there for us video nerds.
That ducktaped lens hood is a cherry on top
Only in video ad i watch completely 😄
Absolute gem of a video 💎
So great to see one of productions again
Is this what you mean when you said
'might fuxk around and make a video'
Ahhhhh the Auto-Focus style intro!! Nah love everything this team does!!
lol that ad was awkward...i love it
I would see if you could power the camera of the hitch power. Would make routing the wires simpler, and its already in ~12v. Also more power efficient but that's musicale when considering the cars battery size.
That intro animation and transition was just *chefs kiss* (as usual) 🥵🤯😮💨🤌🏾
0:35 yo animater needs a raise
I love that add 😂❤️
I would go on SDI cable any day over the wireless video. Ronin has a nice connection for SDI via slipring and one cable going in the car shouldnt be a problem, specially if youll run power cables as well to the ronin. I had too many problems with wireless video in my life so if its possible i just do cables, specially if there is time to set up. Also less latency for a focuspuller.
Also I would suggest to get the back of your truck black for any reflections in the hero car and put some rubber skirts on the back of the wheels for when you are driving on a dirt road...
This is sick. That sponsor integration gave me the same vibes as the Planet Money TikTok lol. Nice!
That rig reminded me of the time when FreddieW hung out the back of his station wagon to get the shots for the drift race for VGHS season 1.
Ahhh good times. :)
That intro was 🔥
You can use the Nucleus to do Run Stop
That ad made me realise how much I miss Brendan's Dbrand ads
