    After 1.5 years on the Factor Hanzo, I fell in love with the new Colnago TT1 and its geometry. Will there be a happy ending?

    I really appreciate all the work you put into it and especially the effort of sharing everything with us openly!! One thing came to my mind: the cratus chainring is a machined carbon chainring like the old Aerocoach or fibre-lyte rings. Sometimes the chain doesn't run perfectly straight and it tends to split the carbon fiber tooth from above. What you could try is a low friction chainring from digirit. They are special because the narrow wide tooth profile is mouldet and not a cut out, so the fibres can't split up so easily. Also this company has quite a history in track cycling. If you give them the specifications they probably can make a custom super low friction chainring for the cratus crank.

      Glad you like it 👌
      The Cratus chainring also has the same (or better) low friction additive. It also has less than 0.5mm runout, which is quite remarkable.

    Fantastic new bike Ronald! One of the coolest looking TT bikes at the recent Tour de France. I love Tadej TT setup, its an absolute menace. The UAE logos look awesome. Great review as well. Looking forward more of this bike! Enjoy your new ride ❤❤❤

    I love the Speeco front end extensions. The company is from my city. I have an older version.

    I don't like the hed decals, but this is a very pretty bike. 41kmh at 190W? Wow. Maybe I should get a TT bike after all and get all the koms around me, it's flat where I live :p
    Well done! Very sexy bike!

    Hi Ronny - I had the same issue with the Wattshop Cratus chainset/chainring that I bought this spring. It's especially bad with the 12 speed Shimano Dura Ace chain. I've used a 12 speed KMC chain which works a bit better. Actually when you apply some power to the chainring and for example set the bike up on a hometrainer it works a better than in the bikestand. What I did was that I had to run the chainring/chain for maybe 10 hours before the chainring was worn enough and matched the chain. At the beginning I also experienced that the chain dropped especially when I was just spinning and didn't apply much power, and thats why I did most of it on the hometrainer. But i guess the best thing is to machine it yourself if you have the ressources to do so. It's a bit dissapointing to buy expensive stuff like this that doesnt work ...

      Thanks for the comment. The issue has been resolved with some machining. I don’t want to use KMC chains if not necessary.

      @@ronykuba Sounds good. Me neither - I'll try and see how the chainring works with a Shimano chain after I've done around 1.000 km.

    you don't *have* to use synchro shift with a TT bike - I use base bar for front derailleur changes and aerobar buttons for rear - and with the new "Front Shift next" you could add another sprint shifter and get front derailleur control on the aerobars too

    I got a Wove V8 a couple weeks ago and it's seriously the best TT saddle I've ever used. Sorry if I missed it, but what bearings are you using on this bike, still Kogel?

    How is Dura Ace 12-speed installed on a TT-bike? I haven't found information. There only exist the 11-speed tt shifters for now

    • @ronykuba
      @ronykuba  Před 16 dny +1

      There’s no such thing as “11-speed” or “12-speed” shifters. They are electronic switches. The only thing that needs to be added is the AD305 adapter to connect the new SD300 wiring with the old one.

    The Cratus crank looks like a track crank. then different chains are used. The manufacturer does not present Cratus with derailleurs.

    • @ronykuba
      @ronykuba  Před 16 dny

      If that was true, they wouldn’t offer a “track” and a separate “1x” chainring, would they…

      @MR-pe3oo Před 16 dny

      @@ronykuba You're right, they offer 1x and track discs separately. If you have 1x chainrings, one tooth is thicker and the next one is thinner. And the thicker one should fit into the wider links. Maybe that's not what they sent or that's not what you ordered.

      @ronykuba  Před 16 dny +3

      @@MR-pe3oo look, at this time I think it should be obvious that I am not someone who needs to have that explained.
      It is the 1x ring indeed, obviously with the narrow-wide pattern. It is the clearance that is wrong, and I am not the only one reporting this.
      A track chain has a different pitch altogether, so obviously that would not work.
