honestly, a Pokemon action RPG with real time battles (preferably with Tales-like combat) is my dream game. I’m hoping that a Legends game or a spinoff would do this one day
I've never played the Tales series. What's a good one to start off with?
@@MunchingOrange There are a LOT of Tales games (many of which are only in Japan), so I would personally pick Tales of Vesperia since it’s first Tales game I played or Tales of Arise since it’s the most recent addition.
The Tales of Series is really fun, the characters are generally really charming, and the combat can be addictive once you get the hang of it. You should definitely give it a try one day.
Also I’ll just warn you now that the games tend to be really long and contain a LOT of easily missable side quests that you would need a guide for, just to let you know(speaking from experience).
@@MunchingOrange They can be played in any order, but you may get callbacks to previous titles. Vesperia as mentioned is a great title, Tales of Arise was their 25th aniv release which is very enjoyable as well. Then they just released a remaster of tales of symphonia a gamecube title. But there isn't really a bad choice. Personally Arise, and Vesperia are my 2 favorites

Fun fact: when the game asks you for a catch phrase, if you type a region like sinnoh or kalos for example, you can choose the starters from that region.
Also if you press T and say “without objects” the gym leaders won’t use items

If you want a 24 hour long video go ahead. This game is absolutely huge even if you just go for the main story and it’s not even finished (it’s a beta and the developers keep adding things with each update).

@@depressedgirl6494it’s not confirmed. Probably in a few years, but the beta is completely playable with almost no bugs and is updated regularly. Rather than a beta you could think of it like a minecraft update for example; you have a version that gets updated often with new content.

@@necroleis There is actually, they are original ones tho, there's the main one "Star Region", then "The Jungle", then "The archipelagos" and lastly "The comet islands" and the game features 8 fan-made gym badges along another 38 official ones (and the Alolan Kahunas will be added too)

In double battles you gotta use the switch button I think to switch between your two active Pokemon.
The strat would be to use one Pokemon consuming PP and while it's on cooldown you use the other active Pokemon, then you keep switching back and forward

I'm not with the amount of fan games being made it got lost in the file.
It’s probably because of the lack of an english version. Even in the current beta there are a lot of dialogues that haven’t been translated and just give you interrogation signs.
Man the Naruto and bleach byond games need to make a comeback. There was some really good ones

I have fun with what I pay for. You don't, yet we're both here; I'm not saying Gamefreak and TPC are above criticism, but to act like Gen 9 games (including PLA) isn't a large improvement from the likes of Sword & Shield for example is insane.

The games have been lazy and poorly done for a while. It's why I've just gone to Palworld now.
There's actually a limit to how many times you can switch pokémon and use items, which also applies to NPCs. It may not matter in the early game, but in later battles when the AI gets smarter it's easy to run out. Also in double-battles, your second pokémon doesn't attack. You have to press S to switch control.

Pokemon Fans are are phenomenal when it comes to fan games this is amazing
I´ve played this game twice and I'm gonna go for the third one soon. This game has a lot of content, more than 150 hours, and almost every pokemon is catchable, this makes each adventure feel new cause you´re actualy controlling all your pokemon in real time, from a strong and sturdy but slow Slowbro or Goodra to a real fast and powerful but fragile Alakazam or Gengar.
PD: Megas and other gimmicks are also included ;)

@@reapersawada8509 I think it's possible but I guess it would be using a PC emulator. The game is made with Game maker, so it wouldn't use a GBA emulator.
I currently cannot play the game due to an error and I am trying to figure out, but I wanted to ask something else. I have seen the 3 starters and have a really hard time figuring out which one to choose. If I choose Riolu, will I be able to catch an Eevee later on? Or If I choose Eevee, is there a way to get Riolu? I usually never have this kind of problem, but the creator included starters that is incredibly hard to just choose 1 from-.-
@@XaneTenshi haha yep, Riolu, Eevee and Pikachu can be catched in the wild. But you can also choose starters from other gens, you would just need to type a Region's name when prof oak asks you for a catch phrase. I used Galar so o could pick between Sobble, Scorbunny and Grookey. Either way, the rest of the starters would appear eventually as you pass the game

I mean, competitive with real action would be amazing. Not just adding strategic gameplay and team building, but your own ability to the mix would be the next big step imo. I mean, if competitive players can't get behind the strategy behind attack timing and dodging, that's a skill issue imo.
@@carlosdasilva2409 yes, I don’t see any reason why competitive couldn’t implement real-time battling once in a while! Like, instead of an AI moving around, it would just be an actual player!
@@shadowoflugia It would definitely require a lot more skill and less rng. I don't mean competitive as now aren't skilled, they are very much so. But adding real time would make competitive players look more like actual trainers than some sort of fantasy general

To be honest this Game is LONG enough to make you feel like an anime protagonist. The more you think it is ending, the more plot and insane content it seems to have! And it just keeps going!

@@tpsam you cant spam items mid battle theres a set limit of how many healing or anitdote items you can use across ur whole team theres even a set limit of how many switch outs you can do
the sprite from the pokemon come from mystery dungeon! And the ones from gen 5 and onwards are probably made by the mystery dungeon modding community
I would love to see Pokémon have real time battles it would make the battle system more dynamic and strategic as you are actively involved in the battles. Hopefully a new Pokémon Legends game or Gen 10 will try out a real time battle system.
I mean I think this kind of thing would work for a legends game. If this was in a main line game it would screw up the entire competitive system.

You can also stand in front of the gym leaders and elite 4 and use the talk button and say “without objects” to have a battle without potions.

I think i have played this game before when i was a kid, i tried so hard to search it up again to no result until this video came to me, i've given up on finding this game since long ago but i am totally up to re-experience it again! The combat mechanic is everything to me and i love that they used PMD sprites for it
You're in a right spot because "The Last Beta" got released this year. So the Game is really completed and polished and future updates will be compatible!
I played this game like over 10 years ago and it looks so different now! Memories are blurry but I think I remember finishing the main storyline and then you go to another region with lots of more things to do. From my main team I remember Drakeon (new dragon type eeveelution), Pikablue (new pikachu evo), Mega Charizard Y, Mega Manectric, Skarmory and Crobat. The battle strategies and move combinations you can do later on are so crazy! Hadn't seen this game again until now. Good old days (I'm 27 now).

1:18 Finally, a game that lets you choose Riolu as your starter! I've always wanted Riolu as my starter Pokémon. If I were in the Pokémon world, I would never pick any other starter because I don't see Pokémon as mere tools. My ideal Pokémon team would be:

The thumbnail reminded of crystal monters. It was a ds shop game that was similar to pokemon but combate had QTEs for both atk and def. Perfect timed attacks allowed for up to 2 more follow up attacks in one turn. So 1 atk min and 3 atk max

Turning the difficulty to one of the higher ones increases the attack for both you and the opponent, making fights faster and more blood pumping. Also, you can hit CTRL+p to unlock 350 characters to choose from. When asked what your motto is, type Johto or whatever other region to get that regions' starters as your choices in the beginning.

Imagine if confusion inverted the controls for the duration of the status effect
A top tier advice(most basic which people dont know and screws them over) never overlevel one pokemon(like having one pokemon level 30 and rest be 10) because gym and rivel pokemon will be around your strongest pokemon level(yes if your strongest pokemon is level 100 that means their strongest pokemon will be 100 and rest be around level 90)
You know what I think would be kinda cool for a pokemon game the old Medabots system where depending on the speed is how quickly you attack.
So think if a pokemon was double speed they could attack twice before the other could attack. It would make speed MUCH more desirable.
Ok this game seems cool, my only issue is the 2d grid not locking, meaning yourself and trainers can be halfway between tiles and it just feels wrong
