One Pocket - SHANE VAN BOENING vs ROBERTO GOMEZ - 2024 Derby City Classic One Pocket

- Both players are former winners at Derby City and both players have won multiple major One Pocket events in their careers.
This was late on day seven and starts out as a tactical battle between two savvy opponents, with neither player willing to give up a shot. After that first rack, things open up a little more and we see the high powered one pocket that we are used to seeing from these two.
Jeremy Jones and his special guest Corey Deuel provide the commentary.

Nice to see Billy Incardona and Nick Varner in the crowd.
JJ,
Great commentating as usual. You always provide a gem or two each match. Keep up the good work, stay well.
First rack Gomez had two balls open to his pocket which he ignored twice . . . and potential safety afterwards . . . 😮
Thank you!
Corey is already trying to come up with a way to take advantage of the new rules lol
That was a tuf loss...Earl played so well then the Reyes magic took hold
Sounds right!
Are jump shots allowed in one-pocket?
imo they should be but not sure if its in the rules or not
Hi Mike: Yeah know, I don't know either. But this was my thought that made ask the question. Much in the vane of a circus shot, at a steep angel with backspin you jump over the object ball and the backspin reverses direction of the cue and it knows the ball in your pocket. What do ya think?
@@lencac7952 I think prissy ass want to be's make up these sissy rules!!
Jump shots are allowed, but you have to use your regular playing cue and strike from above. You can’t scoop jump it like people accidentally do on draw shots.
@@jacobslemmer6168 i tought about that since it was the way it used to be in the 70s 80s you had to jump with your full cue no funny kid stick.
Corey was batting below the Mendoza line here. Although, still interesting and worked well with Double J, the best in the business.
This spotting balls after the 2 hr mark is just dumb. Hey, you guys are taking too long, so we’re gonna take time for the ref to come in, figure out which ball is furthest behind the head string, and spot them. This will speed the match up, trust us🤦♂️
😂😂
