    solid work dudes!
    A while back I commented on the leafs vs 4 link vid. I've sinced converted my truck to spring under with some atlas springs. notched my rear frame. tig welded my own spring hangers front and rear, and my own shackles. got some 18" 3.0 shocks to go on when I get my bedcage and my lower shockmounts from lenger racing. front is lt kit with 8" 2.5 co's. got bumps to put on front and rear. designed my own shock towers for 10" co's but then just went with the te designs towers. this is all on a 2000 gm truck. all my fabbin has been cardboard-aided design with some stuff from diy-offroad. just wanted to let you guys know I'm out here doin the damn thing and watchin the YT vids and connecting the dots here and there.

    What’s the max travel that you can get out off a bronco TTB ??? Please answer if anyone knows

    • @Connor_Cripps
      @Connor_Cripps Před 3 lety +2

      Depends on how wide you want to go, really. The primary limiting factor is the inner right(passenger) u-joint angle at full droop. 16-17" is achievable from stock width beams if I'm not mistaken and that number goes up with extended width. Consider that the beams are unequal length and the camber curves are different side to side. This affects handling. My own truck has +4.5" TTB's and with a 14/16 shock package cycles 22.75" unrestricted. We'll bump and strap it to 20-21" to keep the 4wd system happy.

    • @WingsWorldChannel
      @WingsWorldChannel  Před 3 lety +2

      Sounds like Connor above has a better sense than I would, havent worked with TTB much. The kit you see in this video should cycle low 20's bumped/strapped

    Beautiful work! Would mounting the brake master in the cab sideways under the dash with a cantilever work to package in hydroboost or power brakes?

    • @WingsWorldChannel
      @WingsWorldChannel  Před 3 lety +1

      There are quite a few ways of doing it and that is certainly an option! Haven't narrowed down our decision on brakes yet

    • @WingsWorldChannel
      @WingsWorldChannel  Před 3 lety +1

      Should yield slightly more travel, 14/16 would work perfectly fine as well and would likely run that if we did it again for packaging reasons. The 16/18 is going to rip though!

    Rad buiseness boys ... so u mite consider using those misaligned hiem tube end mount joints. Gives u like additional 7/8" or 9/16" depends on the size hiem and threaded shaft. But we've had to use them on Our production rock crawler chassis. And also btw u could design a 1:3 or
    1:1.5 ratio steering shaft arm Chingy derris rose Rita corona chips n salsa type customenz. Yeah I dig .. u guys have come freaking miles from few yrs back ... whoo doggies. Se what that huge desicion ur rock on dad made how its turning out to validate his gut feeling of trusting in u guys to become "up n comming" race builders .. sounds like youngster is going to uc Irvine perhaps he is taking him on up some design classes to be the inside behind the scene hero that can be the mediator from Christians improvement and creation for race development. I'm curious about your thoughts on the mini lathe and if it is worth the price and works well or it is just "better than nothing" and your still looking for something better?

    • @WingsWorldChannel
      @WingsWorldChannel  Před 3 lety +2

      Have been liking it, definitely limited on the size of operations we can do with it though. If you are doing smaller items, it is great. Tore a belt on it and got a whole new lathe since it was under the 1 year warranty we bought. Not sure how long the plastic gears inside will last either, but been going strong so far! Will likely keep it until we need a larger one for larger operations.

    • @juscozcustoms
      @juscozcustoms Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks @@WingsWorldChannel . I have been stuck deciding between buying a mini lathe costing between $1000-$1400 AUD for the larger (210x400mm) and waiting for a fullsize lathe to show up on marketplace in the $1800-$2500 price range (it happens occasionally) but as long as the mini lathe works well enough for making bushings and weld on bungs it should do what I need for now.
      Yeah most people question the plastic gears but at least there are upgrades available.
      Thanks again and keep up the mad fab and informative videos.
