Thank you for posting. I was in primary and secondary school in a small town in Southwestern Ontario (Kitchener) during this time. This brought back a lot of memories. I had some very good friends who were "boat people." This interview is heart-wrenching, humbling and a reminder of some very special childhood friendships and special community members.

I look forward to listening to this - in the early 80's, my family sponsored 3 Vietnamese men who came to Kingston, ON, to build a new life. They lived with our family of 5 for almost a year and I can't imagine what that must have been like for them. One of them remained a close friend of the family, married a beautiful wife, and had a family - we even went to the wedding, which was a beautiful experience. So grateful for the experience and big kudos to my mom and dad for caring enough to open their home.

I am so very, very glad that I stumbled upon you, Mr Gladwell, early on a dark, chilly morning in Minneapolis. I owe my very own life to God's grace and the many, many acts of kindness from many relatives, known and unknown.

Some agree with what Malcolm says and some disagree, but we must ALL agree that Kevin Sussman **MUST** play Malcolm in the dramatization of his life. MUST.

Thank you. Uptown Chicago during the '70s St Thomas Canterbury I believe it's Thomas it might be John took people in and I've heard allow them to stay in the rectory.
How did it come about that so many easy lifts became difficult lifts. We have children at the border living in cages at a very high cost separated from their parents not allowed to bathe or given toothpaste. And all this is not a Democratic thing or Republican thing it happens under both parties.
Are there not enough lawyers, social workers, religious to alleviate the suffering of those sleeping on trains in Chicago? Dorothy Day said we need a revolution of the heart. That could be. We might need a revolution of our priorities. In Chicago we have approximately 53,000 properties that the city owns. And all the king's horses and all the king's people can't seem to figure what to do with them. It is just much easier that way. Simpler even though in the long run it complicates our lives and it would seem we are too silly to realize this. Don't like paying high taxes? This is the tax we pay when we fail to do the right thing. Indifference is met with indifference.

Cried halfway through this. Thank you for what you do.
Through one of the worse phases of the pandemic, we were the recipients of such kindness, from acquaintances and strangers half a world away. This is the song that came out of that experience czcams.com/video/K-n22Jb63Ho/video.html.
    Cheers from Bangalore, India.

If the US hadn't destroyed so much in Asia, would those three Vietnamese kids end up in need of being rescued? If so, without changing how these events happened, would it change the why behind it all like instead of a gift giving, could it feel like a debt paying? That stupid war is still playing with my mind, too many unpunished crimes, and not a single I'm sorry, I can't think straight about this.

At sporox. 18:30 time mark you claim the Samaritan was merely kind, not brave. This examples serves your intended point, but is factually in error.
CZcams indicated you posted this podcast 20 months ago . I imagine you must have received this correction before me.
Why do you Jesus may have used a Samaritan in a story for Jewd to hear? In case of the escape from Treblinka, the escape would have been the Samaritan, helping an injured NAZI. Yes, the Samaritan was more than kind, and more than brave and generous. God is great.
