- In this third video, I provide an update on the Westmorland N Gauge Layout since the last video from just over a week ago. Work has continued on modelling and re-shaping the landscaping that has included changes to the tunnels, hills and embankments. The product selection of the all important Yorkshire dry stone walls has also been made after assessing 3 types of products. Finally a decision on what ballast to use and how it will be applied and weathered as well as deciding on the base scatter and static grass products for the first scenery section on the layout. Hope you enjoy and if you do please like, comment and subscribe, many thanks for watching!
Looking good 👍
Thank you John JMC :-)
Really enjoying the content,
As a new N gauge modeller im probably getting too hung up on “scale” especially when N gauge figures are placed in the vicinity
Had two tries at making DStn wall with ballast and pva
Modelling was a success but the scale was off.
I wondered what the real measurements of your walls were because they look v good
Regards
Mark
Hi Mark, I don’t actually make the dry stone walls I purchase them from Model Railway Bits and then paint them up. The link for these is here modelrailwaybits.com/product/n-gauge-dry-stone-walling-straight-70mm-long-as-many-as-you-want-22p-each-piece/amp/ Hope this helps? Cheers Gary
Really helpful to see the dry stone wall comparison, great update 👍
Andrew 🙂
Thank you for your comment Andrew, appreciate the feedback! Cheers Gary
Hi Gary plenty of products to keep you busy, look forward to seeing them applied to Westmoreland.

No basing glue as yet Sam , I need to get an order in for some as well as some more 2mm static grass including some Muddy 😀
@@SC68 just do abit at a time it goes off quick say 300mm x 3000mm then use the layering spray to wet up the edge of the grass ! You know what your doing though clearly look at it so looks ace
@@peaks4719 Cheers Sam, I've still got along way to go on a steep learning curve!
